  • DIY Dry Dog Food
6 to 7 cups of flour
    1 cup powdered milk
3 large or 4 medium eggs
    1/3 cup oil
    2-1/2 cups broth or water
1-1/2 cups extra food item (e.g. peanut butter, veggies, etc)
Wisk together all the wet ingredients in one bowl.
Stir together dry ingredients in a separate bowl, start with 6 cups of flour and add more if needed.
Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until stiff dough forms, adding in additional cup of flour if needed.
Turn dough out onto well floured counter, kneed for 1 minute.
Roll pieces of dough into ropes, then cut into small bite size pieces.
Dry in a dehydrator 16 to 24 hours, or until pieces are crunchy.

We peel sweet potatoes. Our fur babies love feral hog or venison. We also put naked chicken gizzards or livers in the air fryer and get them almost crunchy; or bake some pieces of peeled sweet potatoe. They love these as treats as well as boiled eggs. We also use the powdered vitamins from Azestfor in their food to make sure they have all they need. As for veggies, they love different ones like chopped Broccoli, Zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, Peas, green beans, spinach, just to name a few. They like peeled apples and bananas, too. But i usually dice up the apple and cook it in the food. They only get 1 or 2 bites of banana because i dont want them to get a belly ache. I never give them tomatoes, white potatoes, corn, brown rice or minute rice or any kind of flour. I've also noticed that they don't drink a lot of water from their water bowl. I do make their food wet. In the past, I've run it through the blender and make it like a pate. But it's really an unnecessary step. Every time I go into the kitchen, I have 4 little faces watching and waiting for "something" yummy.

Just lost my German Shepherd this past Sunday. Had him for 10 beautiful years.. I am heartbroken. I have three other German Shepherds, but he was my baby. It's not the same without him. Vet told me he had cancer. He couldn't go to the bathroom, and that's when I took him to animal hospital where they put him down. I was with him the entire time. Was the hardest thing that I have ever been through. I believe my dog will be waiting for me on the other side. I don't believe animals lives are for nothing. Bible says; men have no advantage over animals, that they all have the same breath of life. I have read stories about children who had near death experiences that saw their pets in heaven. I pray God sees me worthy enough to be in heaven with my animals. I can't believe it's almost a week since losing my best friend, it seems like yesterday. I am having a hard time with this loss. 😭

      - just wanted to help if you still wondering and praying if God will see you worthy enough to be in heaven. If you or I were worthy enough, then Jesus wouldn't have had to come. So the answer is, none of us are worthy. We have all lied (all liars will have their part in the lake of fire - Revelation 21:8). Mankind has stolen, looked with lust (committing adulatory in our hearts), used God's name in vain, etc... God says if you've even broken one of his commands, then you're just as guilty as someone who has broken all of them (James 2:10). We are guilty before the judge of the universe. However, If you're in court and you have lots of speeding tickets, someone is able to come in and pay your fine and the judge can do with is legal and just; dismiss your case do what is legal and just and let you walk, even though you're guilty. Well, it was Jesus who paid the speeding ticket. He paid the fine. Now, not because of anything we have done, but because of what God has done, we can be saved through the blood of Jesus Christ (Jesus, who came down to earth, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, and rose again proving he is God). If you want to be free from an eternity of punishment (for your sins) then you need to stop relying on your worthiness to get you into heaven and start trusting in Jesus Christ so that his worthiness will now be placed "upon" you. choose today to be truly sorry for your sins against the Holy God of the universe. Turn from them and place your trust in Jesus alone (Acts 20:21). Don't play the hypocrite. Don't say I'm sorry and continue in what you know is wrong, let it be genuine (2 Corinthians 7:10). And start reading the Bible. Start in the book of John. If you have trouble reading it, read the New Living Translation (NLT). Buy the life application study bible NLT if you do not have anyone to ask questions regarding what you're reading.

Kevin Allen it really depends on how big your dog is and how much they eat a day...the batch made enough to fill a gallon bag 3/4 full to full depending on the size of the pieces. My grams dog is a yorky so she only eats about half a cup a day or so. I made 5 different kinds and mixed them together for a bit of variety...she was picky though and would only eat certain flavors lol I sent it to a friend who has a Shepard and he was able to eat it for at least a couple days after what I had already fed my grams dog for a week. Dogs are carnivores and most of their food should be meat. Their food should have a lot of meat, a little amount of vegetables and a very little amount of carbohydrates.
If you give this food to your dog, it will soon cause many problems.

Why would you make a dry kibble!? 😕 dry kibble is completely unnecessary and keeps your dog in a constant state of dehydration. You would be better off feeding a whole food, species appropriate, raw diet! It would cut your time in half and be more nutritionally beneficial for your dog.
Dogs don't need dry food! The amount of flower used in this recipe is proof of the unnecessary ingredients in a dry kibble. Flower is completely useless nutritionally for a dog. This recipe is completely unbalanced and dangerous!, your missing several key macro and micro nutrients. It's also severely mineral deficient! Do not feed this recipe long-term, your dog will develop nutritional deficiencies. Your basically feeding your dog a clump of flower, as a certified k9 nutritionist this is very concerning..

This food will kill your dog. Just saying. Flour and oil are two of the most unhealthy things for dogs. Why in the world would you ever purposely make this? I will reply to this comment with a better recipe

    • @garrysanderson5793
      @garrysanderson5793 Před 2 lety

      1lb gr. Beef
      1lb gr. pork
2/3 cup (minced) of: broccoli florets, sweet potato, carrot (not baby carrots), radishes and mangoes
      2 cups black bean paste
*No oil, oil causes bloat in dogs, ever wondered what it would feel like to have your stomach twisted upside down and ripped open? Yeah neither does your dog, be smart.*
Mix meat and minced veggies together evenly, then make it into as many marble-size pieces as you can, place in dehydrator for 8-10hrs @ 160f.
Serve to pooch with berries and a fresh cracked raw egg. Add spinach and banana for higher energy dogs.
Never EVER give your dog any kind of grain if you can help it and absolutely avoid oil at all costs, not only is it bad for your dog, the food itself will be much easier on your dehydrator without it having to draw extra oil out of the kibble.

We peel the sweet potatoes. I never give them tomatoes, white potatoes, corn, brown rice or minute rice.

@@TeresaV only change is really make is to leave the gizzards raw, as long as yours will eat em raw.

@@TeresaV and with that diet you should be fine to drop the vitamins, they're only very useful for dogs with digestive problems or very picky eaters. A diet of raw meat, veggies and fruit does provide all necessary nutrients as long as it's balanced correctly

Healthy dog food is meat, but that's more expensive of course. This is more like a treat.

Cheese and peanut butter isn't meat? Dogs should be eating a balanced raw diet, not a bowl of flour

Way way way to much grain. Dogs don't eat grains. Their food should be 80%-90% meat.
