New Serpentine Belt from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ic/1AES...
The serpentine belt delivers engine power to a number of your vehicle's critical accessories, like the alternator and water pump. Over time, the rubber belt can harden or crack and begin to slip or break. It's best to replace your serpentine belt at regular intervals. This video shows you how to install a new serpentine belt on your 1999-2007 Chevy Silverado.

I love my Silverado after a new transmission, all new break lines, transfer case, inner and outer rockers, wheel hub bearing assembly, steering shaft, all stepper motors in gauge cluster, and I know I’m missing something. Truck only has original 119K miles on it. I might as well change my serpentine belt since I’ve practically rebuilt the whole dam truck with low mileage!

I don’t understand. I have done this on an Astro, and now a Tahoe... the belt is always way tighter than that and requires more fight to get on. What am I doing wrong? Both vehicles I bottom the tensioner out and it never goes like that.

Make sure you have the right belt for the alternator. 105amp or 130amp I think

No, it’s probably right, but like my 2001 Silverado 1500 2WD ext cab, 4.8l engine, yours may be a mutant… mine has dif bottom control arms than all the vids have, dif bottom attachments for the front shocks (2 bolts each, not 1!), dif much larger front shock rubber bushings than what comes in the kits (most of the parts stores have the correct upper n lower bushings parts mislabeled opposite to what they are), lower ball joints have 4 huge rivets instead of one bolt holding them onto the giant bottom control arms… my brake caliper pins are not a 19mm socket, they are a gods cursed T55 torx drive bit…. But the brake bracket bolts below those are 18mm! As a 2WD there are no CV joints to remove from the wheel hub…. Yeah… redoing the front suspension, wheel bearings, n brakes has been one constant run back n forth to the parts n tool stores. About lost my ever-lovin’ mind…

I have a 2006 Silverado 2500HD "6.0l" gas engine / 105 amp alternator - is this the correct belt part number for my truck as well? (the engine compartment is missing the serpentine belt guide sticker)
    Thank You
