So good to see you got a Slingfin Mowser!! Such great tents, you’ll love it.
Yep, you actually planted the seed a while ago in the comments so thank you! Just took it out for 9 days and it was perfect! Really, really happy with it!
Great video just starting binge watching old episodes😊
I love a binge. Enjoy ☺️
Best of luck on the Eldons mate. I've been through twice +, it's an amazing region, enjoy & stay safe
Thanks! Twice!? Crazy stuff. Such an epic walk.
Brilliant! Thank you!
You're very welcome! Glad you liked it!
Awesome, very insightful and helpful thanks Mowser
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video. Its good to hear the reasons for your gear choices - helps me reflect on my choices. My new Lowa boots grew more and more comfortable throughout their 1st real bushwalk- hope yours go well.
Thanks for watching. The Lowa boots are absolutely fantastic. Will definately be doing a vide on them in the future after a bit more use.
Long time viewer here!
If I may suggest something: The text, when out behind you, is very hard to read (the part that’s hidden). I believe it would be a lot better if you just put the text in a corner (this would probably save you a lot of work too, as you wouldn’t have to cut yourself our every time (yes, my wording is weird…)).
Also: What’s the weight right now? Would be interesting to compare to what you’ll actually end up taking.
Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback! Was actually thinking the same myself so will take that on board. Total weight excluding water is 22kg. This was the final list (as I am on the walk now). You can check out the full gear list here (as well as in vid description): lighterpack.com/r/8k6fat
How did the future fleece top go? Keen to get your thoughts now you’ve used it on a trip
I LOVE the future fleece! Wore it walking a lot. Awesome jacket and will become a staple for me. Put a small tear in the arm but will see that up. Warm, light and a great fleece
@@mowsertas awesome - great to hear - think I may get one to replace my Macpac alpha
@@jonathan_krywicki definitely like this more than my macpac alpha!
@@mowsertas would you get rid of your Macpac alpha completely and just use this as your one fleece now ? Perhaps even replace the R1 😃
@@jonathan_krywicki yes. I am using just the future fleece, sometimes with my thermal base layer and it’s working well!
Hey @mowser - how do you find the memo mat? Any issues with durability or Leaks as I know other brands like neoair don’t have the best reputation with leak issues
Mine has an R value of 4.2 but I find it sleeps a little cold. Absolutely no troubles with durability so far. In the past I have had to repair a lot of leaks with thermarests and also had one replaced under warranty with a valve leak. I wanted a Big Agnes Rapide SL instead of tensor but they were unavailable. Might still get one yet….
@@mowsertas backpacking light in Melbourne and wild earth now have the BA rapide - would be great to see a vid sometime comparing these new pads
Nice gear and great presentation - what is your total weight
Thanks! Total weight excluding water is 22kg. You can check out the full gear list here (as well as in vid description): lighterpack.com/r/8k6fat
@@mowsertasTasmanian here. I love my home state, but the shrubbery makes it nigh-on impossible to walk off-track... I recently hiked 280km through the Arctic Circle in far north Sweden two months ago and it was just absolute HEAVEN to be able to cut through the forest in any way that I wanted. Also, not having to camp in specific locations was very nice, as they have what's called 'Allemansratten' (freedom to roam) laws.
@@Funkteon sounds so good! I hike a bit in Norway last year and absolutely loved it. Cannot wait to get back!
@@mowsertas I like Australia, I just don't like hiking in Australia. It's dry and kinda lifeless compared to South America and much of the northern hemisphere. It's also almost impossible to visually tell the difference between the bush in Tasmania and the bush in central Queensland. I envy the Americans with the incredible amount of biodiversity and scenery changes. Swiss-style peaks all the way to Floridian mangroves and swamps, and everything in between such as traversable deserts and forests etc.
Do you calculate calories per day? If so kinda how much?
I aim for around 3000-4000 calories per day. I went through my food in this video: czcams.com/video/qdqXg51wlNM/video.html

Did you forget your toothbrush?!!
Please let us know your opinion of the Chicken tramper shoulder pocket. I have one by Gossamer Gear which I really like but it slips down annoyingly on the shoulder strap of my new HMG Unbound pack, so I might end up looking for a different kind. Hike on!!
Toothbrush packed in the toiletries! The shoulder pocket looks good and attaches the same was as a hyperlite mountain gear pocket (you can actually choose the attachment mechanism at checkout). So far it looks good but will come back with a review after a bit of use!
I have 2 CTUG pockets (the bonded ones) for my Summit Gear Overland 60. The pockets are large enough for 6 medium muesli type bars and I keep my Swedish drinking cup in the lycra mesh pocket on the front. They are waterproof so far (5 months old).
@@Mark_7260 Thanks, good to know
what are u taking for emergency contact ?
I carry a Garmin InReach mini 2 with me on every walk.
Hi what is the full weight of your bags with all items in kg ?
