The song describes in a fairytale way the real story of a girl who is abused both psychologically and sexually by her father and who, in the ending, suggests that the girl dies ... the final text of the song, the part of the castle, is a very strong metaphor .... a castle with high walls represents a place of isolation or even a prison, a mental institution .... but the part of the walls is the one that reveals the ending...
In prison or in an institute there is no peace.
"the castle" where you can find peace, serenity, a place of rest, a place where there is no longer suffering or pain...
think of the walls that delimit the cemeteries here in Italy, think of the peace and silence of those places...
the powerful walls where everyone finds peace.

Damiano David on English / Italian. I think we will never hear such deep ballads in English. His confidence and command of his mother tongue allow him to compose poetry in safety and tranquility, while his still very good English does not allow him (at least until now). I hope he always keeps the use of Italian so as not to mortify his writing, and I would like all the stages of this world to prepare themselves to learn a little of this magnificent language.

      @@ermagico This.
The story is told by someone outside her family who loved Coraline. Not necessarily romantic love BTW, other than saying she's very beautiful nothing is implying anything but a pure desire to help her. Despite him offering to be everything she needed, she couldn't break free from her cage (her abusive family). In the end, the only way out she found was suicide. Actually, if you pay close attention to the Italian lyrics, it says "Someone told her that there is a castle...". It's a subtle difference, but it means she didn't come up with the idea herself. It's a very dark song, and it doesn't end well.

I loved your interpretation of the very last part of the song, but actually I think that the "castle with strong walls" is the cemetery, since here in Italy cemeteries have walls... and you know, if you go live in there nothing can hurt you anymore, because you are dead. So basically this song speaks about depression, anxiety, family problems and unfortunately suicide.
