Looks strong!! I took your advice an grinded out that grueling ride to the Charles Martell.. My Favorite cruiser by far!!! Martell is Awesome!!! So I'm all in on grinding this campaign!!!
Yeah it's a great ship, and the line is tough enough that I haven't seen too many out there yet
I love the Mogami so I'm sure I'd like this one too. Too bad I'll never own it. I don't have the time or inclination to grind out the campaign and there is no way I'm rewarding Wargaming's shady cashgrab tactics by buying out extra levels

Nice review mate, I actually love the Japanese cruiser line. This will fit in nicely, I'm a bit worried about it being a tier 7 as it can easily be deleted from a game quick!

Well played. I've been extremely frustrated in T7 cruiser play lately. It's probably my own fault. I appreciate your knowledge of when to get in and when to get out.
Try to keep within the gap between your firing range and detection, and when it gets dicey it's time to disengage and let the situation reset
Very nice presentation on the Atago. She looks to be a fine ship. But I’m on the fence and wandering, if I want to grind it out for her.
It's pretty solid, tough to say if it's worth the grind though. That's something that everyone has to answer for themselves
The Alabama is gonna make tornadoes a thing you don't really need to fear
Ijn cruisers are meant to be played at max distant and should always be moving. They have good maneuverability, great concealment and very fast. You can't tank in these ships. You will loose almost every time. Use hit and run tactics along with rear kiting. Atago is my favourite ship from the pc version. I have over 2 million xp in this ship.
Remember this ship have 10km torps so you don't have to get close to the enemy. Dont play this ship like a destroyer. Also don't show too much broadside this ship has a very high citadel. You will get punished every time. The guns are very powerful so use them often.

Good review. Like the shots over the island on the Atlanta. I've been wondering if there is a set distance under the ships name to the ship for accurate targeting of the ship using the name as a reference point.
Essentially there is, not 100% sure if it scales with distance to target or not though

See how far you get, if you're not too far off you could always drop a few doubloons to finish it off
Tbull what did you put in to mod slot 4? The one that gives you a 15% reload reduction?
Can't remember the name, it gives faster reload and slower traverse, so it's a bit of a tradeoff
@Ben Tewaag concealment - why I'm currently thinking the defensive cruiser commanders are better is you get a double steering gears boost through the commander build, combined with the steering gears in slot 2, now you have a very agile ship. That allows you to use mod 3 for concealment. So by running defensive commanders, and specing Mikawa as an inspiration, your cruisers now have excellent dodging and great concealment, which are the two main tools of cruisers for staying alive
Why dont you use yamamoto? Wouldnt He fit atago better?
Great video I love the atago but it’s a myoko class but still better than mogami. If we have the 150mm mogami then the mogami will still better . I think you can bring the concealment under 9km with fully mikawa and the other captain concealment.
Yeah I'm working on upgrading my stealth commanders over the next few months. Should make quite a difference
The atago was in the takao class of cruiser. An improvement over myoko. Check the bridge they are completely different between the myoko class and the takao class.
@@Berserker_4517 This. It was the evolutionary development from the Myoko. They were considered the premier heavy cruiser design from the Japanese. The Mogami was an abortion meant to slick the London Naval Treaty limitations (yes, I'd rather it had the option of the 155mm guns) and the Tone (which we don't have and maybe never will) was an aviation cruiser and wasn't typically used in sea control roles. If...IF...we get T8 in this game, I'm hoping we get the Ibuki, which was the true next step in heavy cruiser evolution from the Takao class.
John Gessner yeah but the atago share a lot of myoko especially the guns placement , basically as you said it’s improved myoko.

Looka very very good. But I'd say my chances of getting the Atago are much better if I try to win some big lottery and use my newfound wealth BUY her outright, rather than via the grind.
Sigh...Dammit, Tbull! I knew you'd like it, but you're supposed to make me NOT want to get it, since I have neither the time (well, or skill) to do the grind, nor the money to boost at the end... Now, I will likely try to do some combination of BOTH...way to go! LOL

@@TbullGaming I have the atago and I just think. the mogami is better it's guns feel. more consistent for me and overall stats wise it's just better I have both ARP atago and Takao on Pc and they feel underpowered compared to mogami on Pc and Xbox it's the same
