Aww, man. My broken hearted gasp echoed right out with the audience when she spoke of her mother's late-life words and regrets. Learn from it, ladies. Do not be 85 and feel you've accomplished "nothing". Though to be sure, she created an amazing daughter. 😔
I think it also speaks to valuing what you do have, also.
We might not get the life or experiences we would have most valued but there can be worth and beauty in all sorts of different 'lives'.

Is it me or is every guest on Colbert just leaves us with a great inspiration they are all amazing I always learn something, but instead of just jokes and silly things they get into deep conversations that are just inspiring even with just 10 minutes

It's hard to believe that this phenomenal actor has yet to receive an Oscar. Such an elegant, funny and charming lady.
This interview is evidence that Stephen Colbert will succeed long after the current administration. Such a comedic talent.
Comes as no surprise. Colbert was successful long before the current administration too.
Glen is extraordinarily terrific and gorgeous. Very underrated.

This is a clever segment. Glenn Close does have a really exceptional ability to communicate through expression. One of the greats for sure.

I’ve always loved Glenn Close’s work. In addition to her movies, I thought her acting was incredible in “Damages.”
I loved Damages! Amazing show!
She scared me more in that role than the one in Fatal Attraction. She was just so cold-blooded.
OMG... anyone who hasn't seen Damages, but enjoys Glen Close... You're doing yourself a disservice. She's absolutely breathtaking. Shit...I may just start the whole show over and watch it start to finish in celebration of her Oscar win next Sunday. Best performance of her career.

Stephen moderates film festival panels on the side so when he actually makes the effort to interview an actor properly about their craft (and let’s face it, sometimes he doesn’t bother) he can really shine.

This doesn’t seem to be a case of an overlooked woman but there are more than you can list.
Glenn Close has always been a pleasure to watch. She tends to have serious and authoritative roles, so I love seeing her in interviews and other natural settings.
Glenn is able to act with her face. That's how masterful she is.

I just finished acquiring a credit in English for my high school diploma. My instructor was also an actor that acted in local plays. She was a fabulous and lovely person just like Glenn Close. It was nice working with a person that genuinely loved the English language and respected fine arts.
The Wife was an excellent movie. She does deserve an award!! The other actresses that got nominated were good as well. But Glenn was outstanding!

Glenn Close and Meryl Streep were awesome in The House of the Spirits, the all start cast movie adaptation, with Jeremy Irons, Wynona Ryder and Antonio Banderas.

One of my favorite books, but I didn't really enjoy the movie. Not the actors' faults though, they did a great job!
@@sameppink9401 I'm a big fan of Winona Ryder and The House of the Spirits is the only ONE movie of hers I have not seen. It's a hard movie to find, unfortunately. The book is a great read, too.

Stephen's interviews are now soooo much better than when he started the Late Show. He is now comfortable in his role and allows the space for his guest to speak instead of running over them as he was in the beginning. Also, the interviews were too short in the beginning, not enough time for the audience to connect or the conversation to evolve into a meaningful result. Way to go team The Late Show!
