- In an odd twist of marketing, Disney and Pixar made a very STRANGE choice last week at Cinemacon for their Inside Out 2 presentation. Regardless, with no new trailer in sight, we're hear to discuss all the news that was revealed to the insiders at that event, (with a tasteful spoiler warning when we get to the juicy stuff) as we edge closer and closer to the big release of what is looking to be a modern Pixar classic. From the audience in that room, people seem to be head over heels for both the comedy and the conceptual ideas brought up in this sequel. so let's continue the hype in today's discussion. Though first, that odd choice. As ironically enough, Pixar's Inside Out 2 Presentation Kinda Ruined The Movie...

...To reveal 35 minute of a movie is a MASIVE gift to give... stopping early almost feels cruel though haha.. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Give us your predictions, what kinda of jokes can you see being made in the OUTSIDE world? Riley's said to be more comedic and expressive this time. What do you think could happen?
Everybody is speechless rn lmao
@@kenswordswe’ve been speechless for a month now.
Imagine showing 35 minutes of your hour and a half movie 💀
Hmm
Bro shows 1/3 of their new movie lmao
This only “ruins the movie” for the few people who watched the presentation.
Then just don’t watch it
@@changingpeopleslivesmoon2993 What? Why wouldn’t I watch it? I think you misunderstood my comment.
@@MrMelonsz maybe I did
Yeah
@@changingpeopleslivesmoon2993 No worries lol. I’m excited for it too.
I was just critiquing the title because it said the movie was ruined, but it’s not really. :D
Why would they show 35 mins of an hour long movie
Is it only an hour long? Or is it an hour and a half? So at least that's only ⅓ not ⅕.
@@XYGamingRemedyGA) 1/3 is more than 1/5, and B) where did you get 1/5 from?!?!?
@@hannahw7023 "it couldn't POSSIBLY have been a mistake" 😂 it's supposed to be ¼, and my thumb slid too far and I didn't catch it. Oops.
@@XYGamingRemedyG IT'S 1/2????
@@XYGamingRemedyG THIS IS LIKE THE TUMBLR ODD NUMBERS POST I SWEAR
It's a little weird they revealed so much, sure. But I'm not one if the few who went to that convention, so I don't think it's ruined yet. And I still think even if the first third isn't the best, the rest can turn it around. Only time will tell.
Same. The rest could still be really good.
The reactions to the first 35 minutes have been great. Literally everyone I've heard talking about it said seeing it filled them with a lot of confidence it could be as good as the 1st one. No one has said the 1st act is bad or disappointing, all the reactions have been saying it's a fantastic, funny, creative first 35 minutes
That was a dumb idea, they should’ve done a trailer that got people hyped for when it comes out, not just show 30 minutes of it 😭
They did release a trailer, one month ago! And we might be getting another one down the line.
@@user-qm2gp7zy3b I know there was a trailer, I meant then to release another one
Wouldn't be the first time Disney did this. I remember last November at the Manchester Animation Festival, Disney held a "Making of Wish" event where they screened a song or two and then a full 30 minute uncut clip of the film
And look how that movie turned out
It seems that according to these films, only adults have the original 5 emotions while kids have the new ones, its not like adults also have anxiety, embarrassment, envy, and depression
I also don’t get how anxiety gets its own emotion? Is it not a mixture of disgust, sadness, and most of all fear?? I don’t see how it can’t shake up to be anything other than a mixture of the base emotions we got.
The movie will explain this
@@atsukana1704 Embarrassment is directly stated in the first movie to be part of Disgust's job, and yet now it's a new character.
These darn milenials with their extra emotions!
@@atsukana1704 Anxiety is not a mixture of anything. Psychologically speaking it's it's own separate experience. Sure it harbors similarities to Fear but they function differently and are sparked by different situations. So her being a separate character is scientifically sound
Since the first trailer, I knew this movie was a thematic flop:
. The entire point of Inside Out 1 is the journey of Joy realizing she doesn't need to suppress negative emotions (sadness)
. When the first trailer came out, it showed Joy once again trying to suppress negative emotions (anxiety)
They completely butchered her character and ruined any progress made in the first film
You haven't even seen more than like 3 minutes of footage, can please stop this bullshit of judging movies before we've seen them? And from the trailer it actually seems to be the case that Anxiety is trying to suppress Joy than the other way around. Just stupid assumptions and wrong statements in this comment. Fucking ridiculous
You haven't seen the movie, you can't judge any character. You have seen a 2 minute promo & just wildly started assuming stuff. The trailer literally shows Anxiety suppressing Joy & the other core emotions. Like what? You've literally invented reasons to be upset here
You are small brain
@@kropianimation1774 "You haven't seen the movie, you can't judge any character." Bruh, what do you think trailers are meant for lmao, that's like watching a Star Wars trailer and saying "well we don't KNOW he's the bad guy"
I'm not "wildly assuming" anything, go to the official trailer and go to 1:16 in, Joy can be seen pushing anxiety out of the way. Speaking of assuming, idk why you're assuming I'm upset about this movie when all I did was share my interpretation and analysis of the trailer. All of this is without even mentioning how excessive introducing new emotions is. The entire point of the ending to the first movie is that new emotions can be made out of a mix of the main 5 (bitter-sweet). Anxiety is just fear, embarrassment is some mix of fear, disgust, and anger. I could see an argument for ennui tbf , maybe envy as well. At the end of the day, a trailer is supposed to advertise and upcoming product and get the consumer interested and talking, that's exactly what I'm doing, that's what we're all doing, since we're all in the comment section of a movie reviewer.
@@EduardoMartinez-rs3bu And you give no constructive criticism.
am i the only one who thinks what they should have done for an inside out sequel is have the film take place during riley's adult years
Riley tiene como 12 o 13 en la primer película así que debería tener 22 aproximadamente aquí
That would have been much more interesting! Or making it about a new character rather than Riley.
yeah i thought that since adult life can be pretty stressful which could lead to emotional problems@@amandaabrego5433
8:55 I’m actually not a fan of the whole “sign” idea.
I think the best jokes are done through showing, not telling.
Having the puberty people come and start messing everything up makes the joke pretty self-explanatory, but then the writers feel the need to drill it home further by literally telling us what the joke is.
It sounds like bad writing.
I believe I’ll appreciate the ideas they have throughout the film, but not the execution.
I have the similar issue with the sarcasm. Not only how it works but a mind worker literally spells it out and for us that dampens the joke and makes it obvious. But I do feel like I'm in the minority as a lot of people seem to like it.
It would have been smart if they showed the first 10 highest 15 minutes of the film because if people said it was okay it would just be 10 minutes soooo
Just gonna say rn that none of these emotions are gone at the very end. They'll be around, but on a different floor. Anxiety will stay as a major team member.
Really?
Im not going to watch this because I don't want the movie spoiled but I will say
1. Any one who airs more then the 5 minuets of movie before the movie ruins the movie
2. placing a scene from the final act of the movie in the trailer ruins the movie
3. If your story can't go the distance it's not good. I WILL hold you to the standard set by Turning Red. Especially if you brag about your quality.
4. putting clips in the trailer that are not in the movie is getting old
5. the bigger your cast the lower your investment. A huge cast can and has worked but generally, its better to keep the cast small. You said as much in the director's commentary.
6. Don't do retcons
7. this one is on the audience, stop getting worked up over dead people and effects.
8. Always make your adapted charters look authentic to the OG or he most well known.
9. don't fill your trailer with nostalgia
10. all special effects will be held to the standard of other movies that did the same thing better.
Like anyone thought this sequel was going to be a good follow up to one of the best Pixar films. The only good sequels Pixar ever did were Toy Story 2 and 3. Every other one has been either okay, mid, unnecessary or just straight up bad.
Pixar no longer makes sequels because there is a story to be told. They do it for money and nothing else.
They've waited 9 years to make a sequel to one of their biggest original hits ever. If this was only about money, they would have made one much sooner.
@@kropianimation1774 except studios love to revive old franchises when they run out of original ideas. Just because they waited 9 years to start making Incredibles 2 doesn't mean anything. It could just mean that they didn't have any other ideas in 2014 and so they decided to start making another Incredibles movie
After all, if they actually had ideas on how to continue the story, wouldn't they have made it sooner?
@@hannahw7023 This isn't "an old franchise". This isn't a Indiana Jones or Top Gun thing. They've also been on the biggest run of original movies since 2009. Pixar's next 2 movies after this are original movies. The 9 years is clearly a sign of them not rushing into a sequel, but carefully collecting new ideas and concepts and developing it over time. Movies at Pixar often take 6-7 years to make anyway.
@@kropianimation1774 With Hollywood's current obsession with remakes, sequels and prequels, I can't believe that.
@@hannahw7023 Now that you mention it, it's actually not that surprising that studios are resorting to sequels as of late. The writers were on strike back in 2023, so nobody was coming up with any original ideas. Whatever though, I'm fine with a couple years of mediocre slop if it means artists have protections from their jobs being taken by AI.
10:59 the music goes so well with anger screaming 😂😂
Because Riley is a teenage girl I feel like this is just gonna be stereotype the movie and it’s sad
Theory, you only have a random set of limited emotions as a child, then when you go through puberty you get 5 more random emotions, all battling to be you “final” 5 emotions when you grow into an adult.
So instead of gaining even more emotions, your adult self defines which 5 emotions are at the helm.
And maybe those emotions aren’t as black and white by adulthood, they’ve blended a bit(learned some wisdom from the other emotions’ perspectives) with the emotions that didn’t stay so you don’t feel them as extremely as a child/teen would.
wasnt the emotional climax of the movie that the emotions can combine into something more? ._. introducing new ones seems counterintuitive to this idea from the first
35 minutes is way too long for a leak
If tripledents gum doesn’t return then the movie can’t be an 10/10
Hehehehe,Tripledents gum,the best product to piss off that bus driver whose emotions are all anger but different color
Spoiler warning
The deep dark secret is either bing bong or lesbianism. Call it
I’m also calling she likes women
Lesbianism, I can smell a thinly-veiled metaphor a mile away
Its about time. It was hinted at in lighyear, but for it to be a full, direct theme of a movie… this will be interesting. I hope it dosent effect peoples opinions about it. (If of course that is the case… it could be something else)
You could also argue riley is also nonbinary cause unlike everyone else we've seen Riley has both masculine and feminine emotions
it's Bing Bong, make him the villain!
This is a terrible clickbaiting title... the first 30 minutes were a hit in the conference, it didn't ruin anything except maybe by the mere fact they showed one 1/3 of the film already.
Welcome to CZcams you must be new to it
This channel does this a lot though.
Is Disney simple minded or what get the reference
I think they did kind of put themselves in an awkward position with the end credits glances of emotion which homogenised how peoples emotions looked and didn’t leave room for things like revealing adults have a secondary tier or emotions somewhere else
I don’t want to believe the film can be ruined.
Same but clearly it has been and now I don’t want to watch it.
I haven’t seen the presentation so it hasn’t been ruined for me specifically but I already have a feeling the movie won’t be as good as I thought it would initially.
The one time a sequel could have actually been good and then it gets ruined kinda sucks.
fake gender identity crap, that's how they can, hopefully they won't make it woke
Ignorance is bliss
@@yese3064 you know opinions exist right?
@@THGMR-ox7sd Yeah I didn’t watch it or this video either. I am gonna be optimistic about the movie, considering how the original Inside Out is my favorite Pixar movie.
Personally I'm excited for it. Been feeling quite bored and irritated with Disney lately, with Pixar running a bit dry too, but I think Inside Out has SO much room for more development and storytelling. Probably won't be the best sequel or film in general, but I like Riley's new design and I'm interested to see how they change the plot with her in high school.. assuming they don't Incredibles 2 it.
(Also seems like Riley might have a crush on that one girl in the trailer?? Would love to see some queer rep but it's probably just queerbaiting or something)
It’s been so long since a Pixar movie has made me cry and I’m hoping this is it
Pixar fell off after Cars 3 in my opinion
Also what’s the music at 1:00
Sonic Heroes Special stage
35 minutes... HORRIBLE IDEA DISNEY.
So I'm gonna assume that the new emotions where always there
Being the effect of when two of the main emotions are working in tandem
And that the manifestations arrive when the cross over emotions reach some sort of freah hold of intensity?
I mean DC did the same thing for the Flash last year, but with the whole movie. Disney also premiered Dial of Destiny at Cannes last year. This is not that surprising.
This is gonna be so bad it’ll be good.
I wasn't a fan of the first inside out, I'm hopeful for the second one but I don't know if it'll be it's full potential
If you weren’t a fan of the first one then this will most likely be worse.
The first one was genuinely good but I understand why you wouldn’t be a fan.
@@THGMR-ox7sd I'm already mentally ill I didn't need to see the full embodiment of what the demons look like 😂 I'm curious to see what anxiety is as a whole but I dunno they used to know what they were doing and now they're copying Disney with making every film bland and full of expositional characters explaining everything that's happening... Remember films like Holes and the Lizzie Maguire movie? They weren't afraid to show children capable of doing more than wishing for a better life, there was real character development and great storylines aswell. I feel like every film has to be dumbed down to explaining every detail instead of allowing anything to happen.
The only thing that "ruined" the film for me was the weird writing decisions.
Which weird writing decisions?
@@kropianimation1774 I think it's about joy's character change.
@@Boogerpickerr Character change? In a film none of us have seen? (And no-one outside of Pixar employees has seen fully)?
I need to know where I can watch the 1st to 35 minutes
maybe all the emotions control Riley
here*
I knew Pixar sequels are always sucky.
I think I can breathe a HUGE sigh of relief.
I'm guessing that we see adults having only 5 emotions as well as kids, not bc they are both simplified, but bc puberty is all about getting to know many new emotions and learning to control them. So adults are people who already control their emotions, that's why only the most important, the most essential emotions are in charge. That doesn't necessarily mean they don't feel things like anxiety. Anxiety just isn't an emotion that should control a healthy adult
The movie is not even out yet and we already think it's ruined.
Inside Out 2 will be better than the original when I watch this movie. I hope Riley gets a haircut at a scene
I was going to watch this video but I simply can’t risk it being spoiled
At least it's 35 minutes some movies improve after 35 minutes
Most get worse though
At this point, I think he doesn’t like inside out 2
I still don't like the new emotions because they are just part of the original emotions, especially anxiety
Kid Danger: *wearing his mighty pup movie outfit* you made a video saying that the PAW Patrol movie is bad and NOT hear Chase's backstory that made ME cry in FRONT of my pony friend, Fluttershy. Yeah, thumbs down on your video.
No, the premise already does a good job of ruining the movie.
Still im hyped
Oh no emo joke incoming
Cowerds....yeah....THEY JUST MEAN
again?
The new emotions will probably return when menopause hits, lol
😀
The way that people are just so blindly hating on Disney these days is just crazy. Can please go back to a time when people actually watched movies before being nitpicky about plot holes in them? This movie got fantastic reactions out of CinemaCon & from the Pixar event with journalists they did a couple weeks before. Everyone loved it.
Thank you I hate people who are like “the movies bad” when it hasn’t even come out
i think people have a valid reason to be a bit dissatisfied. from the last few years, we haven't gotten many good Disney films
Inside out is my least favourite pixar movie
I swear, if Pixar uses LGBTQ for another cashgrab. I'm gonna die
ofc they will bro
I'm starting to want to not do the romantic subplot with Ampelos and Dionysus in my upcoming show since everyone will assume I'm just doing it like the big companies do, IT'S MYTHOLOGICALLY ACCURATE!
it sucks, because we do want representation, but the representation we get is in bad movies for money reasons
I know right, it's getting old and ruining movies
This movie looks like garbage
No
They’re definitely going to be making a lot of sexual
Jokes for obvious reasons 😂I’m excited for this , and anxiety basically being the antagonist like joy in the first one is great , Riley dealing with self identity is so important Pixar is amazing 💜, also is the BIG DARK SECRET gonna be Riley being gay or trans?? Goddd I hope not
I think u mean kinda spoiled the movie plot for some who watched the preview at cinema con
golden premise? bro that first movie suuuuucked.
this man may have nothing nice to say but don’t let it affect how you think of the movie, mind you most of the world haven’t even seen the 35 minutes, so nothing is really as much as he likes to exaggerate. and the people who did see it said it was great. im still hyped either way 🫶🏾
