How to Simplify Trigonometric Expressions Using Trig Identities

- This trigonometry or precalculus lesson is showing you how to simplify trig expressions using trigonometric identities. In solving this math problems in trigonometry, it is important that you have the trig identities or formula so you can modify some of the trig functions into terms that you can simplify. Your skills in factoring some polynomials is also needed in working on this math problems.

7:42 sec x - sin x • tan x

i noticed something in this part, go back to prob. no. 8 the last part which is multiplying sin^2 x/cos^2 x * cos^2 x/1 shouldn't it be 1/cos^2 x instead of cos^2 x/1???? so if you multiplying those, we will get tan^2 x sec^2 x???

How come you modified -cos^2 theta +1 and turned it into 1 - cos^2 theta ? I have not learned that rule yet. What is the rule called so I can look it up?
it's just basic algebra manipulation. I rearranged the expression from -cos+1 to 1-cos... similar to -2+5 into 5-2
