Good morning, my bmw is in trouble, I took it in a mechanic but he didn’t know how to diagnose the problem, when the engine heats up and turns on the fan it works for about 5 seconds and stops and turns it on the battery it runs well, already got some with problem like that?

hey TM, I recently bought one of these and attempted to change out old fluid, emptied all fluid out as shown no problem but upon refill no fluid wants to go back in; about a cup full maybe and it does not drain. Tried sqeezing the hoses and starting up a minute or so but no change. I assume it is the thermostat clogged? 10K on bike/just bought/old fluid was dirty. Any thoughts/suggestions
