Wow. You’re a planning beast.
I work full time and I graduated almost 5 years ago and always said I’d try to get certified later but I never did it. Now I’m dusting off my brain so to speak and trying to get back into the flow of studying 🤣🤣🤣 I really like how organized you were through this process. Lord knows I need to be organized and develop strong discipline in order to achieve my goals💪🏼
I'm a high school senior and am already watching these videos. I can tell this will be helpful in a few years from now. Added this to my favorites:)
Glad to hear!!! :)
Hey! How's it going??
This is my third time watching this video over the years. I just finished my big 4 internship and will finally start my studies. Thank you for a comprehensive review of your study plan.
Thank you, I found the best way to pass this - start a day with reading bible verse..I found the secret! God Bless
Hi Sharon, congrats on passing the CPA exam and thank you for sharing how you achieved it. That was very helpful. I will definitely use it as well for my exam this year.Thank you.
Thanks for watching! I wish you all the best with your studying and exams!

I'm really happy to hear this video is helpful. Please feel free to check back in once you set up your plan and let me know how it's going!
This was very informative! Thanks you so much 😊. My goal for 2018 is to pass all four sections
Melissa Johnson how many stages in cpa?
Thank you, I just failed BEC test my first test. I wish I had watched this video before. I will be trying it out.

You are amazing! Thank you for showing us what responsible planning looks like!
I will definitely give this method a try. I work full-time so I will have to extend the time
Yes! That's a good plan!
This was a great video! I’m a slow reader so it takes me about three to four days to complete each chapter. I’ve passed AUD so far, waiting for my results for BEC, and am now studying FAR! Also, I love how you incorporated your prayer time and workout time.
Hey Toja! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Congrats on passing AUD and best of luck with the rest of your exams! :)
Toja Toja what eligibility require to enter into cpa?
I work full time too and I have been struggling to find a way to study... but your method is the best and I’ll definitely schedule mine exactly the way you said ... three months for each... passing cpa is my 2018 goal and I know I can do it .... thanks
That’s a good idea Naomi and I’m glad you found the video helpful.
Thank you so much for this! Congratulations for your results! I wish you all the success! Love from Brazil
Thank you. You are a breath of fresh air. I’m feeling motivated again!
This is beautifully constructed. Thank you for drawing an effective outline miss. :)
Really enjoyed your review! was getting overwhelmed with the 4 month goal but you made such a simple, easy to follow plan! love it! Thank you!
Thanks for watching Victoria!! I’m glad to hear you found it helpful!
That was an informative and interesting video! Thank you, for sharing the tips on how to manage the time for reviewing. Your schedule to review everyday, was very organizable.
Very professional and creative approach how to plan your study. i will incorporate this, thanks for the video.
You are such an inspiration! Thank you so much for taking out the time and making this video
About to begin studying. This was helpfullll, thank you!!
It's pretty ambitious I've been studying far since christmas jan 15th now and I've only completed 3 chapters of FAR
Just keep going... continue at a pace that works for you. I remember when I was studying, I remember there were people who were getting through the homework and lecture in a day. At times I'd feel discouraged like I was moving too slow but I'd always remind myself that each of us will get to the end goal at some point as long as we each stick to our plans. Just set a plan that you know works for you and stick to it.
And best of luck studying!!
Thank you for taking your time out and sharing this video with us. I’m a year away from graduating, but I’ll definitely be referring back to this video when the time comes!! :)
Glad to hear you are thinking about it in advance!!
Great video. Thank you for sharing your study plan. Appreciate the help.
This is amazing and inspiring, thanks. I definitely need all the tips and advice. Appreciate the help. ❤
A wonderful Christmas Gift! Thank you Sooo much Sharon. You are an inspiration!
Thanks for the kind words!!
This is a very detailed way to pass I wish I could do it this way and be done but I feel like I would burn out. 😩 How did you stay so motivated for so long??
I kept my goals and vision near me. I had written them down and I looked at it every single day for the 4 months I was studying so that I was reminded about why I was putting myself through such a challenging process and the benefits I intend to reap. :)
This was great! Thank you so much for sharing! I am actually doing this now!
You're such an inspiration. Please continue to make videos!
Thanks! I will! If you have any video suggestions, please share!
Thanks for this! this is super helpful! Definitely going to share this with others :)
This is truly an inspiration. Thank you for sharing!
Great Video. Concise and to the point.
This is amazing tips and schedule, i had a doubt, when did you do the progress tests on the HW day?? and how many hours would it take?
Thank you so much for this information! Such a blessing 🙌🏾💜
Thanks for stopping by! Glad you found it helpful!
i love your checklist. i am following that to the letter.
Hi, quick question. I'm wondering if you went through the simulations as well as multiple choice during your homework days? or did you focus on multiple choice only?
Thank you so much for your lovely information, May God continue to bless you ❤
Thank you so much for this video! May i ask what review course did you use to study for the cpa?
Hi Tiara! I used Becker.
I may not use it but sounds like a great plan hope it heps us all to pass this difficult exam.
Thank you Sharon. I was really looking for someone to give me a little motivation. The goal is to pass all 4 sections by December 2018.
You can do it!!! I am rooting for you!!
@@SharonOnuma hi send me Ur e mail or send me your plan zkmv77@gmail.com
Thank you this was great, I work fulltime but I will use this as a guide.
Can you make a video on how to take notes. I love your notes.
I liked the idea of you reading the Bible in early morning.
i love this video. I helps me organized.
Thank you so much!! You inspire me!
Hi! When you said “watch all lectures”, I don’t get it. Could you please explain more? You would like to spend 2 days for 1 chapter. So the first day, did you watch all the modules of 1 chapter, take notes and read the lectures. Then the next day, you did all the hw?
Hi Demi! Yes that’s exactly what I did!
Read my notes several times helps and practice questions.
Hello, I’m studying for FAR at the top of the year.
I have 2 questions.
1. When you were studying, did you complete all modules in one sitting? For example, FAR 1 has 8 individual sections.
2. My second question is, while studying everyday, did you try to master the topics or just get a general understanding of the concepts?
Thank you very much!
Hi! Thanks for watching! Yes I completed the chapter including the modules. While reading through the text, I focused my attention on the areas the instructor from the video had asked that we highlight and quickly skimmed the other areas. In terms of mastery, I won't say I mastered it immediately as I read it. It took continuous readings of my notes and doing the homework problems to master it. On my first go, my goal was just to get a conceptual understanding of most of the material before I moved on. Hope this answers your questions.
I have a question about how you can quickly finish one section in one day because every section has almost 100-200 MC and 10-15 simulations.
What the best study guide for the exam
Thank you for your info. Let's me plan such for my daughter!
Thank you for sharing your study plan!
Hello! Thank you so much for your video. Its so encouraging...I have a couple of questions. I am studying for Far and starting June 1st so the calender is very helpful 1) As you were going through becker chapter by chapter, did you get lost or did not understand something which delays the study method? Did you just understand all the concepts in the first lecture?
I have an AA in Accounting and a BBA of Finance. Do I have the pre-requisites to take my CPA license?
So inspirational! Thank you for sharing
It’s a great video Sharon. Really insightful! My one question here is : who gave you homework? I mean what were the books you studied during your preparation and wherefrom you compiled the homework questions and checked them for accuracy?
Loved the hourly schedules! I’m going to make one for my next exams.
Thank you for the video, really helpful! On the days you watched the lectures, did you watch all the lectures from the modules (8lectures/chapter) on that specific day, then do the homework problems for all 8 modules on the following day?
Yes!
Its a great planned . Also see your special notes. Encourages
How is this possible when working full time?
12 hours a day of studying for 4 months might not be realistic for someone working full time. When working full time, you can spread out the studying for a longer period and shorter hours in a day.
HI Sharon, thank you for sharing your plan. I think this very helpful for those who want to pass the CPA exam. Can you tell me the review course name that you used to study for the CPA exam?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
I used Becker.
Hey I’m currently studying for FAR while finishing my last semester in school and working. I see you went through the modules in a day or two for each chapter. Was there any concepts you had to do a more in-depth review? For example I’m rereading my textbook for the topic revenue recognition just so I am comfortable with the concept. Did you experience this?
I wish CPA Exams are like this in my country mine got 6 subjects in 1 exam sched days(3 consecutive days)
Very helpful material Sharon
2) When you got stuck in a concept you did not understand, who did you ask? Or was your university or college classes sufficient to go over becker faster? Please any advice will be so appreciated. I am studying for Finanacial starting June 1st yest. I took once before a while back and got a 58. I was so disappointed. Prayers really help and give strength
😍😍😍🤝good luck, I learned from you, also I need your help

Hi, let me ask you this question. I did bachelor of Statistics and economics, and i am gonna start master of statistics ( studying evenings). I want to also study CPA. Can i do it? What’s ur recommendation?
Hi, which video lectures did you refer to? Appreciate your response!!!
Congratulations on passing the CPA! quick question when you went through the lectures did you also do the skills practice that is included in becker those days or did you do those on the homework days?
When I studied, skills practice was not a thing in Becker. I recommend you squeeze it into one of your study days... lecture or homework. Just make sure you get through it before you start attempting the homework problems.
Send me the file. mzcp2003@gmail.com
When you do your homework do you look at your notes for help or did you try not to look at your notes and memorize the answer?
Awesome info💙and guideline
Awesome and congrats.
Thank you for this Christmas present 🤣🤗. Merry Christmas
Thanks for stopping by! Merry Christmas to you too!
Thank you for this video I just graduated in December and started studying immediately after! This video definitely gave me the motivation to become more consistent. I wanted to ask if the skills practice videos were part of your lecture or homework days? Also, did you only use Becker or used additional study materials as well? Thanks in advance and congrats!
I used only Becker because I wanted focused studying and I didn't want to overwhelm myself. Becker is sufficient on its own to help you prepare and ace the exams. Regarding the skills portion, when I studied, skills practice was not a thing in Becker. I recommend you squeeze it into one of your study days... lecture or homework.
Thank you so much!!!
Also I wanted to ask you something, does it really affect your grade if you attempt AUD before FAR?? At this point I've attempted all 4 and lost credit for passing BEC and REG but lost my 18 month window, hence re-doing all 4 parts. Currently, my AUD Becker materials are going to expire soon so I wanted to do this exam first as I start my CPA journey again, so I can pass this AUD exam if I study hard yes?? Ive always heard people say to attempt FAR first but it'll end up being very costly for me to repurchase AUD so in this situation, I hope I'm making the right choice.
Hello Priyanka! That's right... it doesn't matter what section you take first. I took FAR first because to me it was the longest section and I wanted to get it out the way first. In your scenario, it makes complete sense to get AUD out the way first since your materials expire soon. Good luck studying!! I wish you all the best!
Hi Sharon Onuma, I appreciate you for sharing your experience I am studying to take the exam can you please to help me how to get the practice exam .
I like the way you take your notes. mind is messy and unorganized.
Hi. I'm a senior graduating in May @ a university in MD. I have a full time offer @ a public accounting firm starting in July. I have a few questions:
1. Should I start studying now?
2. I'm taking advance, audit, & governmental accounting next semester. What section of the exam do you recommend I take first?
3. How can I study as much if I'll be working full time?
4. How did you stay motivated throughout knowing that you can't hangout with friends as much?
Thank you
Hey Terp fam! I graduated from UMD too! Go Terps!
Congratulations on your offer with the public accounting firm and it's great you are thinking about the CPA Exam now! With regards to your questions:
1. Since you are starting in July and won't have the entire summer to study, I think it's a good idea to start studying now if you have the time and can balance it with your classes at UMD.
2. For you, I recommend taking FAR first because it is the section with the most material and since you are starting in July, it will be great to knock it out the way before you start. I didn't take Governmental Accounting at UMD and I was fine just learning from Becker. You can start studying FAR concurrently as you take the class.
3. Depending on the service line you are joining, the first few months might be slow and if you have any downtime you are generally encouraged to study. You might not study as much as I did each day but you should squeeze in study time any chance you get. Also, it's okay to take longer than 4 months. Just go at a pace that works for you since you will be working full time.
4. To stay motivated, I constantly reminded myself of the bigger goal - being done with CPA for good. Also I weighed the two options I had. The first option was - study for the CPA without any interruption and give it all my time. The second option was - split my time studying for the CPA with hanging out with friends and/or traveling. I literally sat down and wrote down pros and cons of each option. Any time I looked outside and felt like the weather was nice and I could be out having fun, or I started to feel discouraged, I would refer back to my pros and cons list. Option one, gave me more pros so I stuck with it. Option two, gave me more cons that I personally didn't want to experience. Once I referred to my list, it was very easy to get snapped back to reality and focus on my goal of getting through the CPA. I encourage you to perform a similar exercise.
I appreciate it! I'll definitely consider all you said.
Some difficult questions i am practicing takes time to understand. Any tips on how you tackle the difficult questions while practicing for the exam? Did you take the time to understand or skip or skim it?
Dud you ever fall behind yiur schedule ? And how you overcome this ?
I remember one or two chapters in FAR taking me longer to get through the homework but some other chapters took me a shorter time. I tried not to beat myself up if a chapter took me one day longer than planned. I just tried to remind myself I was learning the material and I will still meet my goal of taking the exam at the date I scheduled if I could get through easier chapters quicker. Being aware and balancing this helped me stayed on track with my exam dates.
Hello , I would like to know whether I should write exam in the same state where I checked my eligibility.
