  • On June 19th the announcement of a new high dollar bass tournament hit social media. The Ultimate Angler World Championship is coming to Guntersville, Alabama in October of 2025. Is this FFS free tournament a chance for a big money payday or is it a pyramid scheme to avoid? We’ll be talking about it in today’s episode.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Good info, I'm not sure adding more different tournaments is the answer to the sport.

I like the idea of singular big money events but I don’t know if this is the answer. Thanks for your input.

I’m not any sure about this they take the top UP from each of these events. These other events allow FFS so they will most likely qualify. Those who don’t have or can afford FFS are going to be at a great disadvantage. The membership fee I can understand somewhat, however the UP relies in other tournaments for qualifiers they should have their own tournaments without FFS to qualify. I think that levels the playing field. I have to study this more to get a better understanding. Thank you two for the information and really enjoying the material.

could not have said it better myself Mark, totally agree. it sounds like a straight money grab from the tournament imo. im happy there paying the anglers good( if that does come to fruition) but it sounds like a straight money grab from the tournament aspect on the decisiveness of what FFS has created . 500.00 membership fee then you gotta qualify? i dont think they will even get 100 to fish it, just calling it how i see it. maybe i will be wrong. i mean the TAA had a no FFS tournament and now its crickets from them on another. and claim they made "no profit" or something along those lines, but i call BS. lets just be honest if your a tournament director or whatever and you talk a bunch of junk of the tools a fisherman uses. limit those tools. them only have one a tournament is more dumb to me because you really have not proved much other than local folks to the area fish there home lakes well and dont really need all the tools like FFS, witch everyone already knew imo. just saying and certainly not aiming this comment in a negative light but i do feel its stupid the decisiveness FFS has created and the tournaments taking advantage of that,
