The sand before was relatively firm and smoothed, barely had any prints in it, but a wave pattern instead. Pretty easy to see that it gets flooded during high tide if you know what to look for. That wasn't a spring tide, that was just the regular tide.

Here's a trick to keep in mind. Unless your van is equipped with a limited slip differential, to stop spinning one wheel, use your E-brake to slow down the spinning wheel. As that wheel slows, without reducing the power applied by the engine, the differential will increase the power to the other wheel. That's why it's called a differential... difference in speed allows the van to turn with the power is applied to the faster turning wheel, which is great, except when that wheel has lost traction. Slowly but firmly apply the rear parking brake or even the foot brake to slow or stop the spinning wheel and the power will go to the other wheel, allowing you to drive out of your predicament.

If you don’t give them money or they think you’re someone else, they will kill you. This is not a joke. I’ve had family members killed for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. For the love of god don't EVER live in a van in Mexico again. Don't stay overnight in places that are solitary, don't stay on the road. There are many narcos and thieves on the roads, especially at night . They disappear travellers every day (from truckers to illegal immigrants to tourists).
I don't drive at night in state freeways, even if I have to travel across states I wait until morning and stay at hotels. That's how bad it is.
You guys and your adorable kitty don't want to end up as another statistic just for a cute vlog.
