i am disappointed there wasn’t the typical « how are you, i am fine thankyou and you » 😂
Everybody who speak another language than their mother language, even if not perfect, I give them 1000000% my respect. That's mean they are try at least, and willing to communicate with others.
I could not agree more! It is very brave to speak a foreign language!
English is my first language and I can barely speak it most the time 🤣
I’m a native speaker and I’ve lived in the US my whole life and I am still terrified or Subways because you can never understand the workers
Also in the US on the subway do you actually what the speaker person says 😂
Lol i meant the train subway not the store 🤣🤣
I have bad hearing so I'm terrifide, cuz I have to ask again and again for the staff to repete what they said cuz I can't hear it haha
Sameee. I have never ordered Subway over the counter, not even calling, only from the online form delivery thingies to save myself from the embarrassment ;-;
The bop conversation i am dying😂
Mingi said that he was told by the staff to make it funny, he said he could've just brought the translatior but he did it with body language.
Jimin's "excuse me" will be forever iconic 😂😂
Mingi's clip was so funny but he was actually told to speak English in an embarassing way by the staff to make it funny😂😂
That's soooo plot twist, pov and whatever shht you wanna call it 😂😂😂 cuz we're supposed to believe every single funny thing they do is spontaneous and it hits different when they admit it isn't LOL
IKR I still couldn't believe it when he exposed that the staff made him say "I cannot english"
when seungkwan's english was really placed in full capacity in that starbucks order... he just showed his englis is not low quality.
I think @ 9:27 Jimin said ''you're pretty eh come on'' lmao
No one :-
Jonho :- "I'm touching it..oh yeah!"
Lmao I wheezed 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Here in Italy, when someone doesn't know english does the same as Koreans 😍😂 body movement, facial expressions and exagerating till u get the point 😂😂😂
12:43 Wheein saying "I'm like TT, just like TT" outta nowhere has me WHEEeeezing 😭😭
INFIRES MEHNNN
remember when danny said he'd never do reaction videos ever again? yeah me neither
I was supposed to use my brain to remember something??? 💀💀💀😅
I can barely remember my own name sometimes 😭😭😭
I really appreciate their effort to speak english. I speak english and spanish, and very little sign language. For those Koreans, Japanese, don't be embarrassed to learn English do practice and even if you don't pronounce the correct words with time you will get better. I want to learn to speak Korean and I find it hard to learn.
El "excuse me" de Jimin es legendario !!
I cannot englishi iconic😂Miss you Mingi
Jimin's "excuse me" will forever be the cutest kpop video ever ❤
As a Australian who dealt with a lot of foreign customers where i worked most of the Idols do really well. I cant speak Korean or any other language so they all do better than me.
“ i have soul, i have big soul” Whee in 😂😂😂
i am a native english speaker and i wish i had as much confidence as jin while speaking English lol
The fact Dahyun still bright it sends 😂
I see txt I clicked 💙
Flashbacks to when Keonhee ordered 2 whole pizzas instead of 2 slices of pizza by speaking English in a Italian restaurant. And then said "Don't worry, I'm rich"... I can't-
Aww but Jisoo speaking English is one of the cutest cutest cutest thing ever 🥺🥰
Ok but I'm a native English speaker and I still remember the first time my parents made me order my own sandwich at subway. I cried lmao
As a native English speaker, I personally always find it adorable. I love listening to it. I've been told that it's one of the more difficult languages for non native speakers so 100% respect. I'm also Australian so even those who do speak English still have a hard time with our abbreviations and accent lol.
Beomgyu learns a new word and keeps throwing it
So in America they call it "Meal"
Korea call it "Set"
But if you come to New Zealand/Australia we say "Combo"...if you ever
I see mamamoo, I click. Moonbyul speaking English on her radio show is the cutest thing ever. Yes Shister! They should have included that. Dahyun's pronounciation is very clear and Jisoo saying she is scary while looking cute and fluffy is adorable. The bop part was hilarious and also BTS clips are classic
btw when i visited korea in 2015-16 i felt koreans in general avoided foreigners because of language barrer little did they know i was struggling with english too and spelled everything wrong lol
Not the grammarly ad 😂😂Yall chasing that bag 😭🤣
Yall ads are all just one of you saying “ooh” “uau” “hmm” “right” “yes” to the other that is talking 😂😂
Oh Mingi!!! Hysterical!!!!
It never hurts to learn new languages even if only so that you can greet people, thank people, or use the same expressions when dining together....like ' thank you for the food.' You do not need to speak perfectly to increase the enjoyment of being together with others. If a mispronunciation or a misunderstanding makes everyone laugh, it brings you closer together.
I’ve experienced the terror of being thrown into intense customer service work in my second language which was, to be fair, a high level of competency for a non-native speaker but to the level of high school academic with no real world experience. A large part of the job was dealing with irate, complaining customers on the telephone, which was a living hell. People talk really fast and their regional accent kicks in to the max when angered. Of course, they are already pissed so it would be a challenge in your best language. I died of stress. I also did general reception and botched everyone’s name on the PA to the delight of customers and co-workers. Once, the botched name had an apparent sexual innuendo. Really needed the job or I would have run out in shame so many times. I did achieve near fluency but it took years of pain to get there.
Oml😭😭😭 I'm so so so sorry I had to go through that
What's your 1st language if I may ask
And how are you emotionally feeling now?
Also stay safe please
Well lisa is thai and Thailand also have dumplings but we didn't say it in english we say it in Thai so it's not odd that lisa didn't know it in english
Hello guys! It's me, the creator of the video! Thanks for reacting to my video, it's an honor to be on your channel ❤️ Would you put my video in your description too? Thank you!
i’m a native speaker of 6 languages and i can tell you that everyone speaks with exaggerated tones in a language they don’t speak fluently:)
I’m from the US and I always get anxious ordering at a subway man
I know right they ask way to many question I rather bring a list of what I want on my sandwich instead of having a brain malfunction on the spot
@@NewjeansPOWERPUFF4567 I always have to repeat my order over and over in my head and I STILL end up messing up
every time david and danny started promoting grammerly they had hard time holding their laughter lol! what am I saying
Jin is clearly confident in his English lol
" I'm touching I'm touching its very, oh yeah" 🤣 Jongho is so cute
Fun fact; Speaking with animation is actually a strategy used in teaching language. TPR, or Total Physical Response, or acting out and emphasizing words when you speak, helps to engage the right side of your brain and is necessary to learn languages. It also helps to communicate the meaning like charades.
I recently started working at McDonald's in Poland and one day I was accepting payments on McDrive and another colleague was taking orders through the headset so I am hearing all the orders too and one day there came 3 older Koreans and they started talking about "Big Mac set" and this colleague didn't understand at all and send them to me. Me the kpop stan and Korean dramas lover could understand their beautiful Korean accent perfectly. It literally made my day because I was so proud of myself that watching all those dramas etc. paid off in real life.
Btw. I wrote it using Grammarly, I love using it cause now I'm sure where I make mistakes :D I hope my English comment makes sense cause I'm always scared that my grammar is bad and its probably is XD
9:09 THIS MAKES ME SO NOSTALGIC I CAN'T-. THE INFIRES, EXCUJEE MEE, AND DIRRY WATER TOUCHEU MY FACEU JASHDUJHWJKEDFHJKRNDEKJ MAANNN, I REMEMBER WATCHING THOSE COMPILATIONS NONSTOP WHEN I USED TO BE AN ARMY BACK IN HIGHSCHOOL.
I am really proud of BTS and how far they have come. I don't intend any hate to them.
Every time they do their intro I always here Danny say daddy Kim or am I the only one?
Ooooh they totally forgot beomgyu's "press the heart button" in the compilation
The WORST THING is going to a Subway restaurant and trying to order with an EMPLOYEE WHO HAS POOR ENGLISH 😭
Native English speaker and at least I can point at the items in Subway. Starbucks is where I have a melt down lmao
In all honesty, Ateez's English has improved a lot. It used to be Hongjoong has learned it the best but since their debut, but I feel like now all of them are pretty good in English. Not perfect but their pronunciation is good enough where English-speaking Atiny can understand them. 😂😂
I love that you're blurring out logos. Can't give away free advertisement hahaha
Instead of saying HAND SANITIZER, he said SAND HANITIZER. Do you know Beomgyu?😂
all of seventeen huddled together in the starbucks queue to band together to make coffee, Joshua and Vernon please save them
Hahaha “their apologies” 😯😯 guys correct that quick 🤣
Stray kids are missing. There should’nt be funny compilations without them 💝😂
I've never actually went to order Subway before! 🤣🤣🤣
Apology topic came in the scene veeery smoothly 👀
I agree about Subway. Even as a native speaker sometimes I don’t know what they’re asking 😂
I genuinely LOVE when you guys react to these videos lol
Says "rolling" and automatically does the scarecrow dance. LOL!
My boy Seungkwan never fails to make me 😆
Wheein is so cute
I’m still so amazed by Ateez - all native Koreans, no one speaks fluent English, they all use their Korean names as stage names, yet they’re super popular in the U.S.
However, I do think they’re a rare exception and agree with David - it’s incredibly helpful for groups to know English and have at least one or two native/fairly fluent speakers among them.
Honestly I kinda speak Tex-Mex. Like I mix english and spanish. It's hard to explain unless you hear me speak you will know what I mean. Thank you for making me laugh with that video. David/ Daniel I really appreciate and love your channel. Again thank you very much.
To this day I still feel uncomfortable ordering in English! Spanish is my 1st language. (I’ve been in the states over half my life) Even though Spanish and English are “somewhat similar” it felt strange to practice. I cannot begging to imagine how much harder it would be to learn English from any of the Eastern countries. Good job to all the Idols that are trying their best! Fighting!
I remember when I first moved to the US when I was like 6 and I got on the school bus and went to school was in school and like the only word I knew was jug. tbh I don't know how I wasn't scared cause lets say I go to korea now and do that that would be terrifying and I only know bear and korean person.
i love speaking the little korean i've learned to koreans at restaurants etc.. they are happy that u are just trying
I know they are not kpop but you should react to perrie and jade's (from little mix) strong geordie accent 😂😂😂 even their band mates had troubles understanding them in the past
Really enjoyed this vid guys... Especially hearing your perspectives. I commend and encourage any person who is learning any new language but especially English.
Danny really be looking like Edna from the incredibles....😂
Please, do more reactions like this! David had a point there of the way Korean speak in English when they are not confident. I had a friend who spoke the same way in German 😂 When Russian people aren‘t confident to express themselves in a foreign language, we tend to (VICE VERSA) stay calm and concentrate on every word we are speaking. No intonation change, never lol
the fact that Jaehyun, Taeil and Doyoung have been in the industry for so long and live with 2 members who speak English fluently, also not to mention Jaehyun lived in the US for 4ish years, yet don't know what "it's a bop" means HAHA
Grammarly is really great! I'm using it since your first video!
Funny thing to have grammarly sponsor u guys on “Reacting to Kpop idols speaking English” video
The only way to learn a language is to use it, and that includes making mistakes. And when you make friends with someone that speaks that language you can ask them to correct you when you speak. No one should be made fun of for educating themselves and being open to other cultures than their own. And if you get your point across you've been successful
Ateez my life:) godd they r amazing
PLS wheein's english is the cutest😭
YESSSS i luv when u guys do these LOL
I love Jimin saying ‘excuse me’
REGARDLESS OF LANGUAGE, ORDERING ON SUBWAY IS REALLY SCARY!!! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PREPARE A SANDWICH THAT'S WHY I'M HERE!!! YOU DO IT FOR ME! THEY ASK FOR EACH DETAIL AND I'M LIKE WHAAT???
Gotta have dem Beomgyu
SaNd HaNdNitiZ3r lines
I live in India, but even the Subway here is terrifying lol They ask too much.
Must be a Subway thing
I have been in US more than a decade and still get nervous whenever I order at subway. Talking English with customer services is another nightmare.
I like how y'all aren't just a news channel 😊
I saw ATEEZ and I clicked 😳😁
Honestly the accent is the hardest thing in English, especially if your mother tongue doesn't have the same kinda sonorities. I'm French, I can relate lmao
I love when you guys do these reactions.
Konglish!! i love that word so much thank you danny!!!
Bro i totally get it. Im german but ordering at subway makes me so nervous, i order in english.
Yeah, at first I thought that Danny meant navigating the subway system would be confusing, not the sandwich chain lol!
DK & DK, these Idols are so brave diving into a language they don’t know, a language that is not tonal. Some of the problems with being understood comes from accent. You know what they say about US English & UK English: two countries divided by a common language. I only know English (unlike these clever young people) and I can often be misunderstood by Americans or Britons because of my New Zealand accent and New Zealand idioms. If you're more used to hearing English in different accents (like I think a lot of New Zealanders are) then it isn't that hard to understand the information the Idols are trying to get across. Listen to director / actor / (2021 Grammy winner :-D) for an illustration of a New Zealand accent and idiom.
Mingi,bts,nct and Txt iconic
English wasn't my first language, due to this I feel like I always find it easier to understand people who aren't fluent when they try to express themselves... I feel like I understand their struggle/pattern of thinking and I am just a bit more patient then eg. Friends/coworkers who are native english speakers
