    ABOUT…
    I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
    Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

    Have a great day!!

I'm also going to leave you with this tip: there's a certain mindset that is required to fully and completely enjoy metal, and you're never going to experience it while picking songs apart. Just remember, it's not all about the style and showmanship. It's more about the energy and raw emotion. Once you are able to just let the songs carry you away with them, metal becomes a way of life.

    There's a clip in a documentary titled "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey", done by a huge fan of all kinds of metal. During an interview with Bruce Dickinson, he made a point about being a front man for a band. He said his job was to sing to everyone in the audience as if they were in the front row, even the fans all the way in the back in the nosebleeds. That even the guy who could only afford a ticket for the worst seat in the venue deserved to believe Bruce was singing directly to them.
    I can't remember most of that documentary. I do however, remember what Bruce said in that interview, and the conviction with which he said it. A conviction that he has proven by becoming one of the most beloved metal/rock singers of all time.
    Talent, and hard work only go so far if an artist forgets who they're doing their craft for, and Bruce has proven that being completely devoted to your fans onstage literally, and figuratively, pays dividends.

    He doesn't quite have the vocal agility he used to (this being over 30 years ago), but unlike a lot of (often much younger) singers, he has learned to adapt to his ageing larynx, and can still belt with the best of them, while dashing around and leaping about the stage like someone half his age.
    When it comes to front-men, Bruce Dickinson is second only to Freddie.

  • @Dragonblaster1
    @Dragonblaster1 Před 3 lety

    I used to be lead guitar and lead vocal for a metal band in the 1980s to the early 2000s. I remember one night I couldn't remember the lyrics of one of our songs - and I'd written it! I hissed to the bass player as we went through the intro, "What's the first word of this song?!" He, mystified, said, "The."
    That was all I needed. Great gig, and we won a residency that night that lasted for three years. I do remember when the band was interviewed on local radio, the interviewer asked how I remembered all those lyrics, and I said I didn't: I just remembered the first word, and all the rest just cascaded out.
    Alas, we crashed on take-off. We were invited to be in an event in Kidderminster, Rock Blitz, with the last five bands live on Channel 4, and we were to be No. 4. We were stoked. We all knew and respected bands 5-7, and we were ahead of them. It was legit, advertised in Melody Maker and New Musical Express... but, even though it was to be in a farm miles from anywhere, and to finish by 11 pm, Kidderminster Town Council cancelled it, because it would "disturb the locals".
    Disgusted, the organiser told us that this was why Kidderminster had been deemed the most boring town in the UK for the nth year running (I can't remember what n was).
    We were devastated. We had some good gigs in us still (like when we destroyed the soon-to-be-replaced stage at the Horn of Plenty in St. Albans, Hertfordshire (my birthplace), when we were headlining and all the other bands that night had tried to do it). However, eventually we drifted apart. However, I am still best mates with the rhythm guitarist, Kirk, and we're still plotting a comeback.

Love your reactions very composed yet genuine ^^ This performance is from 1982, you might want to take a look at the rock in Rio 2001 performance for 2 reasons: he had a longer experience, and that year the tour had a very special line up of guitarists (all 3 historical), you might find an even wilder solo in this one ;) guitars answering each other. Also, No More Lies and Fear of the Dark are probably worth a look. By all account he's an incredible performer. I remember a live show where I was, he tripped on a wire, got up and continued like nothing happened. And he's old enough to be my grandfather xD Such energy
