Your pretty correct since he has no other family except for the group. His dad left to get the milk and his mother sadly passed away.

Despite of being adorable, she's also very well mannered/behave which is another factor to keep in mind of why Yaeka is so precious. Fits the anime title well because if anyone babysit Yaeka you're pretty much gonna have a good time because kids these days are a little bit wild and too energetic

but didn't it show in another episode of yaeka as a toddler sleeping on kirishimas leg, so many he was already gentle and use to her
