Nice one Bill very helpful vlog your image's from the 911 tribute light's where fantastic thanks as always.
Thanks Paul, we are lucky to love near such an amazing city.
This was helpful..have a safe trip guys!
Thanks Lou!
Great video for something that seemed like common sense. Bill you inspired me to make my first camera investment. Canon M50 markii. As soon as I bought the Viltrox adapter and speedbooster. The bottom thread was obvious to me.
That's great! Enjoy your new purchase!
Looks like the same tripod that I bought for my girlfriend. Very stable, versatile and she loves the fluid glide turret.
I now need to get one for myself. Lol...
Yeah we both have the Feisol 3441 tripods we’ve been using them for years
Beautiful pictures 👍👍👏
Thanks Brandon!
Thank you. I need to obtain a quick connect that will work for my Canon 70-200 F2.8L lens and perhaps a better collar that will rotate from horizontal to vertical.
Every lens is a bit different. Having the ability to rotate the lens is great!
Great video man and perfect timing!!!
My lens foot has two holes in it. Am i supposed to buy a special piece that has two screws or are there just two holes to be able to chose which one has best balance?
You can just choose which hole to use
@@BillEricPhotography I'm going to pass on the urge to make a childish joke 🤣 and thank you for taking the time to reply.
😄
Just a couple questions. When you use a sling strap that mounts to the tripod thread, do you mount it to the collar? Second, does the collar interfere with zooming, especially during handheld shooting? Thanks!
I don't use a strap anymore. Now I use a wrist strap and Spyder clip on my belt. I find this to be a better way to carry my camera. We did a video on it. The best strap is no strap is the title.
@@BillEricPhotography just watched it. Makes sense. The Spyder goes on the collar, I assume?
Yes the spyder would go on the tripod collar
Spider sells a plate that mounts into your tripod socket but the plate also has a tripod socket on it so you can use both without having to remove it
@@BillEricPhotography great! One last thing, does the collar interfere with zooming? It seems to leave a very small gap between itself and the lens
How do you hang your pictures on the wall ..?
We’ll either use conventional printing and framing, or Exposer prints from Bay Photo.
Getting a SharpShot yes a Lens Collar is essential >> I have one on my 70-200 S Mirrorless to mount on my Z7 >> this rig then goes onto my Tripod .. which does not have a Wobbly Centre colum >> No point in having/using a Lens Collar if the Tripod is not rigid >> Windy Conditions do not phase my Gitzo Series 3 while doing Milky Way
A good tripod is key for sure!
is there one that fits the canon 70-300mm?
Usually a tripod collar will come with the lens. If it didn't come with the lens chances are the manufacturer doesn't think it needs one.
i dont know why all telephoto lenses dont have them tbh@@BillEricPhotography
I agree. Makes shooting long exposures at night so much easier when the camera is balanced.
Just got back from Disney. I need to get a backpack (sling bags are too unbalanced). I took my M50 and my Tamron 18-400. I should have brought the tripod but I didn't. I wish I had a 70-200 f4, not the 2.8 which I left at home. I need a 2 lb. 7 foot tripod. A boy can dream right?
John that's exactly the tripod that Eric and I use it extends to seven feet and is very small compact and light when it's folded up. It's a Feisol tripod. It's hard to travel with all your gear and inevitably you always wish you had something you don't have with you.
@@BillEricPhotography where does one find this mythical beast (unicorn) of a tripod. Is there witchcraft involved? How many silver doubloons must I part with? Is it really 2 lbs.?
Amazon? B&H? Adorama?
Seriously, what model, and about how much. You've got my attention 🤣
Feisol 3441S
• Load Capacity: 44 lb
• Max Height: 70.1"
• Folded Length: 16.9"
• Leg Sections: 4
• Weight: 2.5 lb
• 2-Section Telescopic Center Column

I am indeed! Going on three years now.
@@BillEricPhotography Awesome! I just won honorable mention at one of Nimai Delgado challenges on Monday evening. The last time I got back into veganism was 2021... I love 💕 it!
Thanks!
Nice! Good for you! It's definitely a different way of living and our society is not set up for it but I feel so much better!
That lens looks like its bending downwards due to the weight! Your lens mount isnt bent? It looks like it!! Also, tripod collars help with sling straps too.
It might be angled a little bit but I don't think it's bent. It's been working fine for a couple of years now.
