This is the dopest budget movie I've seen so far. Their acting and the story are so good none of the other elements for a movie was needed.

I loved this movie. It caught my attention because of Jamie Chung (re-watched Hangover II a few weeks ago). No special effects, no shoot outs or car chases. Simple but effective boy meets girl story. Also glad the two of them got together in real life.

This beautifully filmed movie that sets in Hong Kong feels more real and so much better a film than that Amazon Prime’s “Expats” starring Nicole Kidman! Great chemistry between Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung, no wonder they got married to each other later! Such cute couple and what Emily Ting did in this film is like what Woody Allen did for New York in “Manhattan”. It’s her romantic ode to Hong Kong, which can still be a beautiful city to visit despite the current political situation it finds itself in. It also reminded me a bit of Richard Linklater’s “Before Sunrise” but set in Hong Kong

What a good movie! Fun to watch the interaction of this couple in exciting Hong Kong. Thank you for the wonderful script that allows me to use my imagination. Thank you, too, for allowing the actors to portray their emotions without vulgarity in words or actions which is so rare in movies today. This is just a delightful show; I'll want to watch again and recommend it to all my friends. Thank you.

"Before Sunrise" is one of my all time favourite movies - this is such a beautiful take on it!!
I stumbled across this movie purely by accident and found it surprising good. The situation could happen to any of us and Jamie Chung played the part to a tee. Maybe because they were already a couple? Thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
That was refreshing. Before sunrise in HK but it works. I thought the chemistry was legit and my wife tells me they’re married in real life. Good job!

WoW! As silly this movie was it touched on a few important cornerstones of a relationship that gives me pause to think. It was also inspiring in an odd way that makes me appreciate how it ended without resolution. How life sometimes doesn't give an answer immediately and it takes time and maturity to appreciate the conclusions that are eventually presented. Well done flick and definitely not a movie to be overlooked for deliberation on all levels of personal development. Bravo!

This is a kind of story, friendship, adventure and lovestory I like. It captured my preference.
I like the character; the sassy, fund and straight-forward conversation, the scenery, the emotions emphasized. It made me smile/giggle and cry.
From the beginning, it was very obvious Ruby & Josh had chemistry. Not surprised because they are married in real life. Great romcom!!! 😀♥🥰♥😃♥

I think the ending it's about right, the director leave the ending to the audiences. I personally think they both shouldn't be together, because they never meant to be, it's just like someone you like pass through your life only, which always happened to all of us. It's just my opinion only.

@@opixel_tv For this night, absolutely. What they should do is go back to their current relationships and re-evaluate and deal and/or identify what they were feeling. They definitely were feeling something; was it their spirits saying, "Yellow flags here guys," and aside/apart from each other. get a handle on and clarify what they were feeling. It would be interesting to observe the conversations with the two "original" couples and how they respond to their fiancee's and boyfriend's honestly sharing what they experienced.
If their conversations "go well" and the other halves of the couples don't blow up, then there's a chance of growing together and actually strengthening their relationship. If the "other halves" "explode," then, "Houston, we have a problem"--because the other halves wouldn't have appreciated their fiancee's and boyfriend's integrity and transparency, but only focused on the negative that they were with someone else.
In any case, as I told my daughter, "Never sleep with someone BEFORE you marry them--it clouds and hides "issues" that may be hiding behind the "rose colored" glasses. :D

This reminded me so much of my time in Hong Kong, I loved it, it was one of the happiest years I ever had. I knew so many of the places in this movie and i was lucky enough to use the escalator down to my office in Central ... Happy Days! But what on EARTH happend to the end of this movie ???

This film and any others like it, are all we have left - of what was once Hong Kong in its modern ambiance. Thank you for this opportunity to enjoy a romance that could not happen now, and to see a once great cosmopolitan city, the likes of which there is no other.
Josh knew by taking Ruby to see his friends, that word would get back to Samantha eventually.
Very cruel. Samantha didn't need to find out the second time he was hanging out with this girl behind her back. And for the girl it wasn't right to come with, she should've been decisive and firm and say no.
Great acting. Love the storyline. I watched "Go Back to China" before viewing this romcom. Excellent directing as well.

Loved this movie. Just shows that love finds you no matter where you are. my ending would be that they will long for each other as they had that special bond even over a year past. So even if they married someone else first, they going to find each other later in life again. { my point of view }

I love open endings, but my take is that he finally wished her a happy marriage to Daniel, yet she breaks the whole thing off the next day. She decides to go to that chicken place (yeah, a little cliché), and runs into Josh, who was dumped by Sam after she heard the news from her friend. Yet, Ruby and Josh live happily ever after.

Well the reality is that this happens in real life. Let just hope that people make the right decisions and break up with their partners before they start another relationship. They did nothing wrong in my opinion. Just friends hanging out with each other. Now at the end of the movie though, they decided they were going to do the dirty. It was in their eyes. No doubt in my mind.

I wanted them to be with each other in the movie, but then I thought about his gf and her fiance. Both were trusting their SOs after years of being together, not knowing that they were seeing other people and falling for them. I could only imagine the heartbreak of the fiance and the feeling of the gf who stayed with they guy despite seeing his photo with this beautiful stranger. Really bad. It makes one not believe in relationships anymore. It encourages people to think egotistically, about what they want and only that. Is it fate? Well, if he weren't be approaching a girl who wasn't his gf, he would need to lie, and he wouldn't feel that way about someone else other than his gf. This is why people are suffering, they lack the inner morals to know when they shouldn't interfere. He could've been a gentleman and offer help by simply calling her a taxi, then go back to the party and talk to his gf about her behavior. She would've realized she was going too far flirting with others and stopped. This would've strengthened their relationship and the beautiful girl would meet a nice, SINGLE guy. That's it. No over-romanticizing of adultery. Why do Americans always glorify the "me", the self, and are ok with hurting everyone else as long as they get what they want? I dislike this attitude so much. So spoiled and self-centered. Yikes
I guess this is the first movie I have watched in which no one went to each other's house till the end.

Such a great innocent movie. I tired putting myself in their situation and I wouldn't have done what they did--not that they did anything wrong at the point of their meeting.
Where I believe they both made their mistakes is #1 - they didn't have the necessary conversations in their current relationships to determine if they were with "The One." So when you come across situations like this they don't have a clear understanding of the waters they're in and how to "safely" navigate those waters so no one gets "hurt."
Mistake #2 which compounds Mistake #1 is not sharing their feelings from a non-controlling, non-manipulative. So everyone, both couples, are making decisions, in essence, on inaccurate information. The parties then, in good faith, make decisions on inaccurate information which leads to unmet needs and/or desires. Over the years, faster for some than other, the pressure builds up and "the volcano eventually explodes!" And it's kind of hard to stop the lava from flowing down the mountain; virtually impossible...without God.
What I love about this movie is their interaction, the emotional, witty, humorous banter back and forth. I liked Ruby's being real and forthright about not settling for anything less than pursuing your heart's desire(s). I liked Josh's playfulness and humor. It wasn't "love at first sight," don't believe such a concept exists--lust maybe, but not love. What is really was, however, was a message from their spirit talking to their hearts saying, "Hey, guys, yellow flag here! You need to re-evaluation your current relationships." The results of that re-evaluation would probably be less than fruitful unless they were equipped

This girl is very difficult. How can she be so jealous of someone she had just met? It happened from the first time they met. She must have been expecting a further romantic relationship with him, from the first time they met. It's incomprehensible. She was emotionally lonely. It's like demanding for a relationship with no regard for each other's lives. It's best to wait for an outcome slowly than drop into conclusions so suddenly.
She can act that part perfectly of being judgemental and jealousy

cool, i know the place well where they started.i worked at the top of the escalators but they didn't open for an hour after i had to be at the shop so i had to walk up every morning! PITA.
