Differences of fake and original Fjällräven Kånken

- Hi everyone who's watching! I was sn idiot and fell for a fake Kånken! After doing my proper research and buying from the actual Fjällräven website, I thought at least I could film a quick video to tell the differences between fake and original so that nobody else falls for the scam! Hope it'll help!

It's a nice colour for sure, but the material is sooo flimsy compared to the original. Gotta give them credit for making it waterproof though. 🤣

i own both older and newer original kankens. tags as well as the name tag inside of older kanken match your fake one, so it is not a good indicator whether something is fake unless the store claims it is a new stock. best indicator would be the fabric, original kankens esp if newly bought are kind of hard and rough.
Yes, the fabric is what I mentioned during the video as well. The biggest indicator for it being fake, apart from the reflector and wrong writing, is also the price I paid. At that point I thought it was a bargain, which it really would have been if it had been an original one. But of course that was too good to be true. ;)
On the fake one the Swedish flag is inverted.

spent 120$ on my BIG kanken from urban and $11 dollars on a fake one from china and it’s waterproof, has reflective logo and is good thick quality 😌😌💓💓 can barely tell difference between them
True, i bought the real one and quality is horrible. After 5 times used it look like garbagge

Yes i thought so, too! I have old and new kankens and I have both nametags in it.
I have seen so many videos on kanken about its authenticity. The circle above the A in kanken touches the A in mine too. But i have seen some videos where the circle above the A in kanken doesn’t touch. Can anyone tell me which one is real and which one is fake ??
I think it's different models and dates, I even saw a difference in different colors of the same style. But I am no expert. The best bet would be to look up your style and colour on the website or try to find a picture of a real one from when you got it.

I got a cheaper version of this bag on my vacation in Greece. I’m very pleased with it. Flimsy or full of plastic the bag does it’s job 😄 carrying stuff from vacation to the airport and back home 😁

P.s I got it knowing is not the original and I didn’t have to pay that large amount of money as for the original.
For the original is that shade the normal pink or the peach pink?
If I remember correctly, that was the normal pink. You can always check on their website. They still have all of the colours. :D

My pink Kånken looks perfect, just as the original, the only exception is that the Å (which is its own letter in our own alphabet btw) is missing on the back label, so it must be a fake. Still love it though and it was cheap. 😊

You forgot the Swedish symbol on the A (ä) as it is not in the fake one in the Fjällräven logo at the front.

Although I don’t think it’s a good thing to buy a fake, I’d rather pay 10/15 for a unbranded bag than paying 90/100 for that branded bag. They both look as flimsy and thin.
i’ve seen people who have had the same one for over 30 years with little to no damage whatsoever. they are incredibly high quality. also, they are so expensive because they promote sustainability and paying livable wages. you are paying for people to live comfortable happy lives rather than paying for a person in (usually asia) to hardly get payed and get worked to death. obviously i am not trying to sell you on it because i agree it is A LOT of money but i’d rather support a company that is paying their workers what they deserve and creating incredible quality items that will last decades than to support companies that only care about how much money they’re raking in themselves and don’t give a shit about quality.

But I still think it’s too expensive for what it is... what I meant was that I would just buy a simple canvas bag before I would buy a fake, especially if I was buying it knowing it was fake.
You're probably poor and have to be cheap. Too bad. Quality is worth it. I prefer to pay more for the real bag.

I got duped. My brother knew before it even arrived, he said to cheap to be the real thing. He was right. It’s pretty a good dupe, but I’m sad.
I got scamed with a fake one thinking im catching a sale lol but I got me a real no2 kanken mini in acorn but fake is cute though too
I must say I am so impressed with the fake one I got! It passes all the tests! I will likely get a real one too but considering the investment, I wanted to make sure I would actually like wearing it before spending that much.
Oh that’s fair! There are a lot of different fakes out there, some better than others of course. But it’s good to be aware of it as well, because if you’re thinking you’re getting a real one and then you’re not, that’s just not great. 😄

Do you think the Amazon kanken backpack is real?
Not sure, I haven’t seen it. My fake one was from eBay. I know that Amazon also has a chance of selling fake items but often the biggest difference can be seen in price. If the one on Amazon is similarly priced to the ones from the Fjällräven website, it is probably a real one. If it’s oddly cheap, it’ll most likely be a fake. :)
The only problem on my kanken bag is I don't have the welcome to kanken card
same I don't have any writing on the name tag talking about the brand if that is what you are referencing and the circle is detached on the a (but this is fine as I have heard it was changed and some have it and some don't). I got it from a charity shop so it likely could be real but Idk and while it looks genuine the fakes are getting so close and it's hard to tell. The most important thing is that it is durable.
