I think this is a very underrated and understated skill. I had to learn the hard way. I’m a pass first pg. this is my first year playing comp. I found out real quick that if the defense doesn’t respect ur scoring ability, they will stay disciplined and leave u no pass options. Let that mf fly and show the defense they gotta respect u. Being a scoring threat is what makes u a passing threat 💯

I used to run center in the begging of 2k24. And man I could not deal with the greedy point guards. So I made a 6’3 inside out playmaker. I average 26 points and 15 assist per game “if everything goes well”. The amount of players that just stand at the 3. Don’t move off the ball. And want to just 1v1 in rec is insane. And then they have the audacity to get mad at me when I don’t pass and finish the game with 40 points. Like bro you are 3/15 can’t get yourself open etc. I have to carry if you ain’t gonna move off ball smh

I thought that 2 until I made a troll Bronny James build. It mistakenly became the best guard I’ve ever played on, First game on with it I drop 21 points , 20 assists, and 4 steals. I went %100 from 3. I got you on my friendlist so I’ll join up and show you I can be pass first and still be effective.
I don't even run guard I'm on a rodman 4/5 with no shooting at all but I get just enough handle to run a bit of point forward its so much better to run the 3 or 4 as the opener a ton think Draymond esque

Yo, real question, I know i’ve always said it’s a feeling but I tried tmac and it’s just really weird sometimes with speed ups and slowdowns, you mentioned in your videos that it’s also about feel and looking at your player, so me as someone who uses release visual cue, where do you look at to know for sure “oh yeah that’s going in”.
Sometimes I just time it and know it’s going in. The criteria for when Ik it’s going in is A. I get my normal jumpshot speed, B. I feel like i timed it right, and C. The arc of the ball and the animation my player gets
I want to get heat check so bad i recently got it in april and finally have a max 6,8 build 78 three ball shooting 40 sum percent with out heat check and off the dribble too cant wait to see your growth

Because I’m doing the things your doing I’m taking the shots your taking I have a 92 3 point and an 80 something middy I’m a 6,6 build and the main issue is if I miss 1 shot or 2 shots I won’t get the ball in rec the whole rest of the game and if I do get it then it will be the 2nd quarter with 1 minute left so I’m no where near takeover and I’m just standing there like a dumbass being main pg but because I’ve missed a couple shots the main pg being me is basically just a lock because I guard the pg when I shouldn’t be in the first place and I have very good defense but because I don’t have lockdown badges on hall of fame they can still easily score and that also decreases my chances of getting the ball as pg and when I finally get the ball I’m FORCED to be a pass first pg because if I dare take another shot regardless of if it’s contested or wide open if I miss then I won’t get the ball the whole rest of the game and because the same issue has been going on for so long I’ve just got used to being a pass first pg and it really sucks because I know I’m a good shooter and sometimes I’ll hit the shots your hitting but I can’t ever get enough practice with it I have to stick to the rec pro am and 5 team game modes at all times cuz mike wang decides he wants the latency to be different in each and every game mode so I can’t practice in the Gatorade faculty like I could in 2k23 if I run with a rec squad they’ll drop me if I’m not passing the ball I’m not ball hogging understand that what I’m doing is looking for shots 3s specifically then running plays because what ends up happening is I’m ending up with 13-15 assists a game with like 12 points and we’re losing by a small amount but me knowing had I took the shots I COUKD be taking then it would have been a blowout I’m not motivated to play 24 just because of the playerbase and the developers making a bad game I can 100% AGREE it is quite easy to shoot in this game however the slowness of the game the playerbase making builds that they are not good with the community being toxic not in a trash talk kinda way but in a im running main point when I should instead be running lockdown kinda way or when one person sells but then gets mad because the 1 and I mean literally the ONLY person on the team that’s doing good doesn’t get the ball because he has enough points kinda way I feel a lot of the 2k community doesn’t actually understand how to truly play basketball but just understand the concept of it that’s why the teams that I’m taking about can beat casuals but once they go against actual comp they fumble and don’t know wtf there doing I know this was a very long message but this needs to be put out there because I feel I’ve explained it as best as I could.
