    Thanks for providing this video. I purchased my ReliOn device last night and I found the written instructions confusing. Your guidance was most helpful. Take care.

    You skipped over the very reason I had to come here. The lancet device I have does not resemble the one in the art and I can't load a lancet. That's the only hard part!

    Nowhere in the user manual does it describe how to read the Control Solution Range on the ReliOn Premier test strips. What does Level 1 120-163 mg/dl and Level 2 208-281 mg/dl mean? How do I apply these numbers to my control solution result? Thank you.

    Great video and I appreciate that you took the time to explain everything without rushing. My annual 12 hour fasting CBC blood test showed 115 MG/DL up from 102 so it's time to get the weight down and cut out sugar. I need to cut my sweet tooth with regualr sugar having nearlly 2 tablesppons in each cup of coffee alond with Pepsi and white rice. Stopped at Walmart tonight and picked up a bag of allulose sugar substitute and really like it along with this this machine for $9 based on your video so thanks.

      I'm happy to hear you found the video helpful! The dietary changes you suggest would certainly help keep blood sugar under control. I haven't heard of allulose sugar substitute, so I will have to look that up; but good luck with everything!

    What is the hole on the side of the meter for ? For charging the meter?

  • @debbie7492
    @debbie7492 Před 7 měsíci

    I have trouble getting consistent results. For example, an hour after I ate, I tested my ring finger on my left hand and the level was 143. One minute later I tested the middle finger of the same hand and it was 99. Then tested on 3 more fingers both hands and the readings were 108, 107, and 102. Ive had this device for 2 weeks and test several times each time I test and its very rarely consistent with itself. How come?

    My doctor and the instructions say not to squeeze your finger. I asked my pharmacist why not to squeeze us because white blood cells are pushed out with the red blood cells and reads the glucose lower than it is😢

      That's an interesting point. I will do a little research into that and see what I can find out. Thank you for highlighting that and letting me know.

      I needed to change to a different pricking method. I am using a 1 time use very gentle spring loaded lancet to draw blood. The new self contained unit works great for my delicate fingers and it doesn't draw too much blood. They are the Relion Single Use Safety Lancets. Each unit is completely self contained. I can just toss it in my trash because the needle isn't exposed and there is no blood on it. I actually don't avoid taking my blood sugar now. I have removed ALL carbs and still have high blood sugar. No fruit (tomatoes are a fruit too), no grains and no beans of any kind because they all spike my blood sugar. Its with testing that we can find our blood sugar level.

  • @penniroyal4398

    The lancet device doesn’t work for me. It’s much easier to just poke my finger with the needle! Way easier and it doesn’t hurt if you have thin enough skin.

    I just took my reading and it said 111 is that high or low? where should the numbers range? thanks for your video.

    • @drsamidaniel
      @drsamidaniel  Před rokem +2

      I'm sorry I did not see your message sooner. The normal range should be between 80 to 120. Some questions to consider: Were you fasting? Usually 8 hours without food is considered fasting. Only water is permitted. If you were not fasting, when was your last snack/ meal/ beverage? 111 CAN be considered normal. But you need to take this information in relation to when you last ate or drank something. I hope this helps.

    This meter sucks I had to go back to the older meter the prime to get a reading after getting error 4 for the fifth time in a row and it’s not the first time this has happened with this meter it just not a good meter

    No wonder your blood sugar is high 😮 if you have diabetes or are pre diabetic than you have to change your diet or decide you’ll just take insulin shots for the rest of your life 😢

    • @drsamidaniel
      @drsamidaniel  Před rokem +2

      Thankfully I am not diabetic. But if squeezing the finger causes an erroneous reading, I may try a reading without squeezing my finger; and another reading after squeezing my finger just to see how that changes the blood sugar level.
