And to add for the last AITA, the Chinese bride is doing a full western wedding with the white dress and in the church and so for the husband to not do this small segment of the wedding to pay respect to her culture feels very selfish. The post says he’s not religious so bowing should not be an issue for him if his ego was in check
Agree! Honestly I wouldn't marry someone who cannot respect my culture because I am part of my culture, especially when it involves parents.
And if he truly loves her, he will also love whatever she comes with, culture inclusively. Relationships is all about sacrifices and finding balance, it is not a one sided effort

I am a born and bred city girl and married my husband who was born and live in the village. I moved and left the city life for the slow pace village life, and i am blessed with a wonderful mother in law. I think i hit the jackpot because having a great relationship with mother in laws are so scarce these days. She never get involve herself with our marriage, she respect our parenting choices and also never had bad things to say about anyone. Anyone who comes and visit my husbands maternal family home, always shows their effection towards her like she is like her own mother. This to me, is the best blessing in the world above my husband and my kids. Every time my sister’s mother in law comes to visit her, she will rant so hard on how toxic her mil is and she is always invading her space like the kitchen. And everytime she pour her heart out to me, i cant help to feel more grateful for my MIL.
And she is absolutely hilarious, i love having conversation with her. She is 80 years old, and grew up in a very humble upbringing. She have 11 children, a housewife, and raised her kids alone after my father in law passed away when my husband was 16 years old. I respect her and adore her so much.

OMG YES!!!! My mother in law was so toxic that it was best for my husband and I to move to another state, just to get away from his family. They were in our business to much and it was to point were we were going to get divorced if we didnt leave California.

Chimichonga Queens...i love me some taco bell...even though I cook mexican food all the time...i crave taco bell...quess what the mexican pizza is my all time favorite...it does have to be eaten fresh so it won't get soggy...i actually open the box so it won't keep steaming...i would love to make a suggestion...add green onions to the pizza and the nachos bell grandes...which is my second favorite...adding green onions is a must...they actually use to serve them with green onions a one time...try it and thank me later...in-laws topic was awesome...i appreciate your wisdom queens...👑 ...

One time I had a MIL who made me sleep downstairs by myself in her spare room whenever we came to visit...even though I LIVED WITH HER SON 2 hours away at the time, and we were both in our 20s! 🤦♀️

My grandma is extreme! My dads mom is my only grandparent , i have left, but she is so toxic, especially to my mom.
i'm turkish-german (turkish parents, born and raised in germany) and what you said about hispanic people sounds a lot like turkish people. there are times when i like it bug also when i absolutely hate it bc some people (for example, my parents) don't get that i like my privace, that i need it. maybe i hate it more often than i love it.
Im a muslim and in our religion we bow all the way to the ground when we pray "it kind of looks like the 절" so we cant bow that much to someone but God I can bow lightly to show respect though ♡ but I do understand the culture difference and I really respect it and love the meaning and the humility behind it ♡

Well when you couldn’t conceive and it takes years to be blessed with one beautiful child you have a tendency to hold them close. I was like that with my son my one and only. I got pregnant one other time and lost that child. So I see how that is possible for a mother not want to let go. I still love my son so much but I also have the daughter I always wanted and four beautiful grands that I cherish with all my heart.

Mm Im mexican and all of our aunts are always inviting us to stay at they place... but i rather stay in hotels or our own place... cause like you said privacy lol but they aren't to fond of it especially my parents.
The worst is when they try to make their sons a mamas boy and always try to insult you and tell you things then when confronted they act as if nothing happened
I have a son and if he does something wrong he will make sure he knows. I will teach him to respect women and to be independent a woman is your partner your companion not your second mother
