I still am baffled by the fact this dude didn't get huge. I hosted many a cypher and have been in the same circle as this dude for a long time. He's an absolute killer on the mic. I tested him by playing weird tempo beats just to throw him off and he destroyed everything. True skill.
Yeah, I always felt that Reks never got that push he deserves. Artistically speaking the casual listeners are not gonna fuck with Reks, but the true Hip Hop heads will fuck with him all day.

I was listening at nas (years I do, and illmatic is my favourite) while I suddenly remembered that phrase, but with a different beat, so I spended like ten minutes without figuring which one was, then I finally made it, but there is an italian Mc who made a track on this (its so damn fire) too, listened to it for another good 5 minutes cuz I fuckin knew this was the beat but couldnt find the quote, and I just came here thinking that maybe it was in the original, so here I am, just to hear that quote... #onelove

Saw him perform this live in Toronto when I was 19, still one of the most memorable shows I've been to. Statik and Termanology there too. They sold some merch from the stage after the show and I wanted to grab a couple hard copies. Statik was kinda upset that I wanted to hand to hand it with Reks instead of him. Reks did it though, "Straight, no chaser" and "Grey Hairs".

Glad I found Reks to add amongst my vast collection of true rap/hip-hop albums & lyricists. I have almost 2,000 albums of the great music type & Reks is a diamond in the rough that more ppl need to come across & familiarize themselves with a great talent that came out in the most embarassing & extremely weak era of what for some reason is considered "hip-hop". From the first listen of a few bars, u can tell Reks is true hip-hop!! Flat out ridiculous lyrics & flow over great beats. A guy from the new era where 98% of what they try to tell us is hip-hop is absolutely embarassing that they call it hip-hop, here is a breath of extremely fresh air, a man with crazy flow & lyrics that sound like golden age of hip hop again, u would think this came out in early 90s. Mad props & love to Reks, a man with a ton of talent who mostly has flown under the radar & not had his well deserved publicity
