The fimir having 3 toes on one foot and 4 on the other sounds like a detail lovecraft would add right after he describes how Irish the people are

Daaaamn, you continue to use the blue as a central color in the monsters but it still reads as green to the eye.
Highlighting the faces really makes them pop as a whole model, something for me to take away even though I’m not painting along.
Yeah! As you've probably guessed I'm planning on using NO blue for the heroes to make them stand out from the enemies :)

If you want to go a step further, carefully cut off the eyes with your hobby knife and replace them with googley eyes.
For those wondering "what's a Fimir?", Arbitor Ian did a great video on Warhammer's forgotten monster species a while back.
You may not like them, but they are by far the most striking models in the series looks-wise. That blue-green gradient and those big ol' eyes really make the minis pop

I've had Heroquest for a while now and love it. I've painted most of the minis with Contrast paints but ur method is so much more fun. Already done all my furnature thanks to your amazing tutorials and just finished this bad boy. Thank you for bringing the fun back into painting. Still a beginner here though
Awesome! I've been loving this series since the end of the Blackstone Fortress series! It's really been filling the hole in my heart for this style of content!
This series actually inspired me to get HQ and a friend got me a few of the expansions.

I like the new fimir models, they've clearly had a lot of work put into their design, with great detailing and energy. But the old ones are just so much more unique and interesting than generic fish bois.
You did a great job bringing them to life nonetheless, Guy. Keep it up.
The old sculpts had charm, the old Warlock & Chaos Warrior with their nipple-ring helmets. Pure fun.

Nice paint scheme as I wasn't sure whether to paint them either blue (cause they look like fish!) or green as Firmirs are green. Never thought to do/combine both!

Oh this is useful! I'm more of a D&D player, but I'm planning a nautical campaign... So I had some Sahuagin minis laying around. Just never had a decent idea of how I wanted them to look, now I know!
I think it's just because I play in a LARP largely rooted in Irish mythology, where our fomorians (inspiration for GW's "fimir") are very fishy-coded, but I REALLY like those fishy models...! On the other hand, I'm not a massive fan of the other minis in the new set, so... I don't know, what have we learned? Different brush-strokes for different folks, I guess.

For the eyes, you could literally just use a pen too. You can get a micron pen for just a few quid, of varying diameters.

Heard me out with what I'm going to say, the fimir I understand that he is in the dungeon but the abomination ? an aquatic monster in a dungeon that has no water ? What happened there ? my theory is (which I hope isn't real) is that they didn't add another one-eyed monster because games workshop would maybe say something like, oh it's a one-eyed creature, you can't do that. and that's why the abomination exists, it's strange also do we really need so many miniatures of the abomination in the box ? not even the gargoyle has that many miniatures and is supposed to be a more important enemy.

Yeah, the abominations look like something that'd be in a Lovecraftian horror not the traditional fantasy setting of HeroQuest. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't go with trolls for the reprint.

Those "blood shot eyes" look amateurish and ruin the paint job.
I'm glad it's not just me. These look rushed and sloppy this time, not was I was expecting at all. And it's taken 6 weeks for the video to drop! Personally, I'm disappointed.
