I DNFed All Good People Here and the main reason may seem silly but she states towards the beginning a character is listening to Nirvana… in 1985. Ummm. They didn’t even form as a band til 1987. This drive me bonkers! It showed me that the author couldn’t be bothered to even do basic google checking. I was already put off by the odd writing but that- I couldn’t get over it. 🤷♀️
Not surprising that Ashley Flowers copied the Jon Benet Ramsey story because the first like 80 episodes of her podcast were plagiarized word for word from other smaller podcasts. Also they purchased bot Apple Store reviews to boost their podcast in the beginning. I used to listen in the early days before this controversy and I'm shocked that other people didn't stop listening too after all that 😵💫
Imma be honest: the only reasons I wanted to read Belladonna was because the protagonist is 19 (finally!!! she's not 17!) and because the cover was so gorgeous.
Thank you for saying everything that I felt about The King of Crows. I suffered reading that 😒
All Good People Here is also going to be on my worst books of 2022. That ending is absolutely rage-inducing 🙄
King of Crows was such a letdown!
Oye Midnight in Everwood was one of my five stars of the year😅. But I grew up a ballerina so I loved the writing and the hints to the original Nutcracker, so for me it was pretty perfect because it also hit all the nostalgia for me as someone who danced in the Nutcracker for years. But I can see how it’s not for everyone 🙂
Not me reading Midnight in Everwood as you put it on the list 💀
Omg you are so entertaining to watch 😂 I loved this, and I actually added 2 of these to my TBR 😅 👀
All I’m hearing is the King of Crows is actually the Babadook? Lmaoooo
oh nooo midnight in everwood is one of my most anticipated reads of the year... i saved it for over 10 months so i could read it during the christmas holidays 💀
I absolutely bloody loved it, hope you read it and enjoy 😊
@@cleg78 Same!
@@cleg78 i already own a copy so i'll definitely still read it as planned ^^ and thanks! i hope so too! fingers crossed 🤞
I Hope you enjoy it 🤞
Such a fun video! Loved Daisy Darker though 😂😂
I was so ready to move Alice Feeney to my break-up list but Daisy Darker saved her. But she has definitely moved from my auto-buy list.
Could not agree more with The Restless Dark. The River has Teeth is SO much better!
😡 so many of these books have beautiful covers, so deceiving haha
I really liked All Good People Here. At first the ending made me crazy, but understood why it was written that way.
Im glad I listened to your spoilers because I was kind of getting into the description of the Dorris book and then I heard the ending, heaved and thought nope. Erase from brain.
I completley agree with you on Belladonna! It was one of my most anticipated books of the year as I had read Adalyn’s previous duo logy. Very disappointed, you hit the nail on the head about the writing!
In my school, in english, they read 'The Gilded Ones' and then made us write tests about them which i am in year 9 so im not exactly an adult.
Oh tea! I just watched Mara’s best of murder myster & thriller video and Shiver was on it! 😄
Who do we trust?! 🤔🧐
I’ll have to read it and find out! 😄
The Restless Dark is one of my faves this year 😅😬
I still haven't read The King of Crows yet because I adore the series and I'm scared to hate the ending! I will eventually though because I can't leave it unfinished.
I totally agree with you about All Good People Here! Love her podcast though
choosing between Death and a stable boy.... I'm sorry but no matter how they characterize Death, if he's of a viable age he'd always win to me too
I’m still going to read midnight in everwood someday because I love the nutcracker ((:
Omg YES 10000% to Rock Paper Scissors. I also dnfed Daisy Darker lol
If you didn't like Rock, paper, scissors I would try The Resting Place
Nooo the shiver was my biggest surprise of how much i loved it 😭😂💜
So sad about belladonna…. It sounded so good
I've read 3 Alice Feeneys and haven't liked any of them. I think I'm done.
You had me at King of Crows!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I wanted to love Midnight in Everwood, it was such a gorgeous looking book and I love The Nutcracker…it didn’t do it for me either. There were parts I loved but more parts I didn’t 😾
oooooo love the tea hahahha
😠😠😠😠
I'm so happy I'm not the only one who hated Rock Paper Scissors!
Oooo bring on the roast. From one comment I have already seen Midnight in Everwood, absolutely cracking book. I do agree with a lot of your opinions…just not that one lol.
Great to see you back in another video btw
Crikey if I hate a book, duck. I still hate with a passion The Shadows Between Us 🫢 & The Appeal by Janice Hallet boiled my brain to the point it was on verge of leaking out my ear in pain
Noooooooooo not Rock Paper Scissors, Meg! Read His&Hers. Oh Lord I am shooketh 🫢
🤬😡😤
I really enjoyed Shiver and Rock Paper Scissors lol 🥲
THANK YOU for the small artists vs AI portriats take, very important imo! Also, YES to Rock Paper Scicors AND Daisy Darker I dont gat this woman at all why do ppl like this weird, exploitative plots idk 😭😭
I enjoyed Belladonna even if it wasn't groundbreaking. I barely made it through The Restless Dark, though. It was so obvious, very repetitive and the main character was soooooooooooooo annoyinggggg.
My worst books were either Elektra or A Court of Frost and Starlight
Oh shoot I really liked Rock Paper Scissors; I thought the plot twist was brilliant but also I think that may just be because I don't have a lot of experiecie with thriller/mysteries that I don't absolutely hate. I haven't met a middle ground XD This was so fun tho I loved it!!
i really liked it too and so did my book bestie.
I knew the diviners series was going down hill when we had simultaneous first time sex scenes, I think that was when I went ‘oh no’
Midnight in Everwood was so boring, shame as the cover is stunning
Love! Are u a writer?
Finally someone who feels similarly over Rock, Paper, Scissors!!! I hated the ending so much it almost put me into a reading slump :/
Same and the middle part was so boring to me, too! Nearly put it down halfway through but wanted to finish it…
I enjoyed Shiver, but I like an isolated closed circle mystery-that and locked room are favorite tropes of mine for mystery. I deeply disliked Lucy Foley's Paris Apartment. I disliked her other one that I read too, they're in a hotel and it's snowed in. So I should have liked it, but not even a little. 🤷♀️ I just don't like her writing style. Ditto for Riley Sager, B A Paris and Alice Feeney.(The M Night Shyamalan's of the book world-poorly written with so many "untwisty twists". I remember watching The Sixth Sense and less than 10 minutes in I'm like he's dead that's why the Kid who "sees dead people " can see him. 🤦♀️🤦♀️ How is this a "twist" and who didn't see it coming from a mile away?! He's shot in the first scene. Then queue to his crying 😢 wife in the shower and pan to her medicine cabinet Full of anti-depressants. But so many people were "shocked by the twist". Mmm' kay 😏) I don't read YA because I'm grown, and Do Not have the patience for all the CW drama 🎭 of it all so many of yours weren't on my radar, thankfully. 😉
😡
😡😡😡
My first book turned out to be a five star, but I still had a terrible year 💀💀
😡😡😡😡
😡 Rock, Paper, Scissors was ok. Not the worst, but not wonderful either.
🤬
😡😡

👿😠
I would list all the many terrible books I read this year, but that would be spoiling my video that I'm going to make 👀
