I really enjoy gacha games with no equipments like arknights. Because it's easy for players to just focus on upgrading only the characters. And it will feel more fair with f2p players.

Yeah, everyone has their own taste.
Personally, I love some grinding so a detailed gear system but not too complicated is good foe me.
I like having gear since then you can make your own builds like on Epic 7. The problem is the level of rng the gears need and not enough resources/system to make up for it.
@@jetranger7777 I heard in ch12 update, you can get a ticket that will make farming a stage cost no sanity, guaranteed *3x reward* (only for ch12 stages tho). I Hope they make they make the ticket usable for all stages tho

The "bigger numbers of fully developed units" probably refers to dimension trimming, where you get debuffs if you do not meet the CP requirements.
Used to play SEA(quit when global launch). Started playing Global when they did the Origin patch. Quite happy with it now.
I dont even read the story of Arknights anymore, no time to read essays of 200k words on every event of every character talking like all of them have PhD on Psychology
The events last 7 days. There isn’t even enough time to read everything.

CounterSide's art is good but it is not consistent. Some art on pixiv may not translate very well into an animated video game where they have to clash with other art styles. It is most noticible in lower rarirty units who do not move at all (or the lee jisoo/amy/esterosa skins and probably wouldn't look good either animated)
Gear gacha is bad, it is very unfortunate if you roll subs or sets and get the same one, two or more times in a row.

[Essay Incoming]
The recent updates to Counterside have been really disappointing, honestly. I felt like it all started going downhill after the first run of the Hololive Collab. That was the first time I felt they were really gunning for your wallet with how they made all the skins pay to buy with real money only, instead of admin coins. That was a rude awakening to me who pre bought coins from the black Friday rebate in anticipation for the skins. Honestly felt scammed since this was the first time ever that skins were not bought with admin coins and there was no notice until the patch notes came out.
The origin changes were such a disaster. I am still not liking some changes and wish for them reverted. The fact that xp is no longer given in battles and you have to use gold to level up is awful. The increase in gold dropped on stages does not make up for the deficit. The numbers don't lie and this current system is worse off overall in efficiency since before all characters in a squad would get the xp which is more xp than what you get now with it costing you 0 gold.
The changes to the dupe system has got to be the most egregious change. There was no reason they had to change the old dupe system besides to make it harder for people to get level 110 characters. Fusion cores are even more valuable now than before. They made a system which was fine and F2P friendly and reversed that.
The Tactical Update. Anyone who says the Tactical Update is a very minimal change that doesn't really impact the game that much doesn't play PVP. All you have to do is check the buffs and bonuses you get for a unit to understand just how important the Tactical Update is in PVP. The cost refund is insane, the damage reduction is insane, and the overall bonus damage is insane.
A lot of people might not care for PVP since usually not many people get invested into the PVP of gacha games but I do and Counterside's PVP is one of the best in the industry for a gacha game.
The recent update with the April Fool's skins has me even more worried for this game's future. Instead of just giving us the old April Fool's skins, that have yet to be released on Global might I add, they decided to bundle them with each unit's respective trophy. So instead of paying 1080 for the skin you paid 1560 if I remember correctly.
Again why? Why would they make such a decision? There was no reason to bundle the skins with the trophy units and if you still wanted the bundle, allow us to buy the skins by themselves separately. It felt like a tactic to get people to waste more of their quartz and buy more. I had a thought of Overwatch 2 when Blizzard adds random shit into a bundle so they can charge you more money for it.
I hope to GOD they don't mess up the future collab. They said they were going to change how you acquire the collab units and if it's worse than how it was on release on the KR server then I will lose more faith in the company and the game.
Next thing you know they might pull an Exos Heros and start doing NFTS😂. I've played so many gacha games and I'm starting to feel the fall of a game. I hope I'm wrong and Counterside lives for many more years but the decisions they keep making are starting to get to me.

SEA players have to buy the skin bundles last year too. And although it may have changed at some point in KR, the first release of April fool cost 1400-ish, not 1080 quartz accordding to the image in the patch note (3 years ago I guess).

This essay affirms my actions. I played since day one global every day up until right after the HoloLive collab then quit cold turkey
GR should make a video where he just roasts all these doom posters and haters. I feel like GR is just holding back his flames but you can tell hes tired of people hating on CS and not realising how good of a game it is 😂
I made a post of recommending this game in the Metal Slug Attack subreddit since that game went EOS and people on it immediately start hating on it and calling it "one of the worst gachas" like *how*

CS and Nikke music department is top notch, they put an insane amount of effort into their soundtracks
I have to say, as a day 1 CS SEA player, the story and lore of CS is easily the biggest factor in why I still play this game as a main game. I also play FGO jp (as a nasuverse fan), Epic 7, Azur Lane. There's also Nikke on the side which im most likely going to drop once Honkai SR releases. Played a crap ton of other gachas over the years such as Granblue Fantasy, Priconne, GFL,Genshin, Arknights, Eroica, Artery Gear, Exos Heroes, and Idola Phantasy. There's probably a bunch more i'm forgetting but my point is, for a game, after the waifu factor, my main pull is almost always the story. Between all of those, CS has taken my top spot when it comes to story. Beating out FGO from an overall nasuverse standpoint for me. Which is big considering FGO already had a pre-established lore to build on top of and CS is a brand new IP. Also as a bonus, few of these games have us, the players, be absolute chads XD

Regarding PVP complaints
I’m a Day 1 Global player and I reached Grand Master Ranked. On the point that JP players have better gear generally, yea it’s true. But it’s not chimerical to catch up. My gear is incredibly average and I only spend admin coins on skins and the occasional package for black tickets. In fact, my gear luck is pretty bad. Honestly? I think the people complaining about PVP have a skill issue. Plain and simple. But I understand the other complaints for sure.
I only have a problem of not being refunded on the dupes before Origin

@@shiyoonhiki3512 Well since im f2p i focused upgrading counter gears 1st so I'm nowhere near using mech teams nor soldier teams. Btw I'm playin on Global. This week I'm using standard counter team around A.Yubin or A.Jake with Yuna depends on what team I mostly likely get to match up with.
I was annoyed with the free "rearm" ticket....
Before, you could put an SR 110 with duplicates and make it evolve into SSR with the rearm. But with the ticket taking Eujin as an example, having it directly SSR, the move to put it 110 with core fusions was equivalent to a basic SSR.... so 75 fusion core...
Developers don't think enough about their decisions since Origin and personally I feel it more and more.
I hope it gets better.

Pretty sure the units you get on the rearm selector is only on lv1 at 3 stars, which means you will have to use cores to get them to lv 110

I wish this game is not like e7 i just go back on epic seven for almost 2 years of not playing and when i come back its the same like when i leave. No new pve content no new content at all for 2 years which is crazy. Whats new on countersides interms of content?

Ehcounter side is good. The reason istop playing simply due to bad management for sea back then. Also agree with storybeing good. Horizon arc is a good example of it.
I still enjoy the game. I like the main story alot. one of my favorite from a gacha game. But when there is no story. I play variety of whats inside the game. It depend on my mood. Sometimes i want to just grind pvp all day. Sometimes i want to do pve. The game has variety different pve content that i can cycle. I am also not fussing over full stamina or unused crystal or and so on.
Idk if the game is more whale centric now but I understand how he probably feels. Ive been grinding Ranked and it's been tough because I just don't have enough 110 units with amazing gears. Also I'd agree nows not a great time to play. I've been grinding Ranked because there is nothing else to do lol

I've been playing GFL since day one and I have not seen a lore in any gatcha that can match it. I think CS is decent but I wouldn't say it has the best lore.

I rarely see a player in diamond ranked so far,its all bots. But i like botfarming so..Personally I'm glad the game has several achievement difficulty lists to do those i still need to finish. That keeps me still enjoy the game,as im like level 55. Not anywhere near big players like Guitar.

Holy not actually clowning and fish for drama for once 🤯 although I do still find this topic similar to beating a dead horse by now, just pointless really
CS has problems. I won't deny that many things are a bit worse now, such as the dives, invalidating the relic cheese strats, events no longer feeling like events, no longer getting exp when doing fights, etc.
On the other hand they have made some nice improvements, they're testing things out and the devs have the balls to admit it when a change doesn't work and they roll things back. This is worthy of respect since for example the fate devs usually quadruple down on shitty decisions.
Also, I don't know about Arknights since I don't play it, but in my opinion CS has by far the best story I've ever seen in a game, one where there is no wasted piece of lore, even the silly Christmas event had a hidden important story hook.
Lastly, I don't agree with the art argument. Azur Lane and GFL have fantastic art, but I don't think CS lags behind and I think CS, due to the nature of the story/world has more freedom for designs than the other two.
The translation, which was one of the best in all of Gacha, has gone down in quality noticeably.
bruhhh, if you like the game just play and enjoy it.. adjust is the word, UI will change overtime like other games, like grandchase for example..

Actually I think the honest problem with counterside is everyone at the top ranks are playing with entire teams of six cost awakened units awakened units are far more powerful than rearm units once two awakened units are summoned with high enough health you basically lose

Essay: How I fell out of love with CounterSide (not really, just need a DRAMAAAAH title 🙃)
I played cs pretty much everyday last year, since the botched update though i havent played barely any..
I was really excited for the origin update, but having sometime away has made me question why i would go back?
I think the game is great yet there was something about the update i couldnt quite put my finger on till recently, and now that i figured it out, it'll probably just be a casual side game.
The clue is in the interface... they've made cs from a mobile game into a desktop game, yup i said it. CS is now a standard(PC?) game, its in the interface, the in the way you had to unlock main story to get to events, most mobile games rely on events to keep the fans coming back, even the way gear and items are obtained have been moved around, and this is the part that probably confused people, they've made it (into) a desktop game, but it has a gatcha and mobile mechanics, for example different days of the week for item farming.
Its a game that needs to decide what its going to be, a mobile game or a desktop game, and thats where we're stuck right now, and why so many people have taken a break/quit. They are attempting to have desktop game style monetisation + gatcha style monetisation, so for example big one-off purchases like you would get with a DLC type implementation(in MMOs for example), while maintaining currency/gems/etc mobile style purchases alongside it.
i didnt feel the need to mention the obvious implementation of a ridiculously priced (bonus)skin, but i will, just to point out that the development team seemed to be a little out of touch with the fan-base, and that on top of the Holo event i think proves it. They are reconnecting slowly with the fans, the recent road-map shows that they are looking hard at what they're doing and hopefully CS will make some amount of recovery.
I will caveat, that i believe they will possibly want to make at least 2-3 major changes in the next 12-18 months and that will shake things up again.
Also, agree with many of the comments/essays in the vid on both sides, i still think CounterSide was game of the year 2022, no doubt.

Hell naw none of those games come close to look better than CS...only games I've played look as good as CS are E7, Genshin, Nikke, and the Diablo game
7:36 ngl arknight story is kinda cringe 💀, especially with amiya saying stuff like "doctor let walk this path together", "save the world" and being this edgy depressing blah blah, also the overwhelming of Chinese culture/character flocking into the game just ruining the entire thing(I don't hate it but I also not a fan of Chinese culture either and with the dev push those content down my throat is totally a trash move)
You know comments like this made me appreciate the administrator (our character) even more. We dont have other character who speak for us like fgo genshin, arknight. We're not there but at the same time we're always there the whole time (like a spectator which makes sense since we read the story lol). We can be playful and sarcastic like your average co worker but at the same time we are that 500 iq absolute genius outplaying everyone like a pawn in our hands. The guy is also not overpowered and his intelligence are not gifted like the doctor, rather he just has more experience by doing mistakes, *lots and LOTS of mistakes*
Dude fought what seemingly an unwinable battle, lost and saw his loved ones dies many times, yet still going so far that he literally throws away his failsafe plan hoping this time it will be different. Also from the pv in korea seems like the administrator has a relationship with the mc's sister, a demon lord. If it's true then damn my man is the biggest simp, a man of focus, commitment and sheer fckin will.
Seriously people should try this game for the story it might sound generic but the worldbuilding from all the side stories is one of the best for gacha games. it's a bit easier to get into unlike the huge world history textbook worth of dialogues that is arknight and also skippable Since you can read them later in collection.
@@rohidzaidannasution6828 FACT, the side story and main story is super good for a gacha game, it easy to follow and understand, you wouldn't have have to read a whole history book in order to understand the character and sht, just play their side story or read their profile is enough to give you information about them
The ceo is what I'm interesting the most, he is way better character written than the amnesia doctor in ak, he have his own character personality unlike the doctor who just go along with what amiya or any the other character that talk to him.
