    Honda announced that the Prelude is a Go, it's coming. The Civic Hybrid 2.0L has 200 horsepower and 232 ft /lbs. torque. With 245 series tires, I doubt it would be 180 horsepower when the Civic has 200. It's not practical for me, but I like it. Of course, this is a preview concept car, but probably be very close or pretty much like this.

  • @Cerby1979
    @Cerby1979 Před měsícem +8

    Great. However, the Prelude of the past was a manual transmission-only vehicle and this concept if produced will only have an eCVT. I’ve never seen hybrid vehicles with manual transmissions.

    • @fortheloveofnoise
      @fortheloveofnoise Před 27 dny +2

      Then you have not looked....Honda's very own CR-Z offered a manual, and the car was hybrid only. I also think the first gen Honda Insight hybrid offered a manual. Currently, the Suzuki Swift is hybrid only and offers a manual transmission.

    They already announced it’s going into production next year in the UK and Japan….They just haven’t unveiled the finished product but based upon the fact this shares the Civic platform and has the Brake kit from the Type R; I doubt they will change much of anything. 🤞Honda can mix in some reverse NSX tech and put the power around 250hp. Honda hasn’t announced what powertrain it will have.

    I think this is ideal for the prelude, hybrid coupes are probably gonna be a popular option, want to look cool and save fuel, just like the lexus hybrid coupes, if they want to make sure its sold on mass its gotta hit sub 40k base, and the numbers stack up for that IMO

I'm curious to find out if it will weigh any less than the Civic e:HEV🤔When Honda lend you the Civic e:HEV, it would be awesome if you could do a POV driving video through some fun twisty roads and also town driving too. Some youtubers got well over 70mpg but some people got 50mpg, so i really am intrigued to see what the realworld MPG you would get. Keep up the great work!

    I think it looks great. I can see them doing a hybrid since they have Civic hybrids but what they also have with the Civic is the Type R! A top tier performance Type R trim of this Prelude with the 6 speed manual from the current Type R and that 300+ VTEC Turbo engine would be on fire and could be Honda's answer to the Nissan Z and the Toyota Supra. I know I would be interested in that. Actually I will go onto Honda's website and let them know. Just saw the website was for Honda UK. I will wait for when they ask for input from the US. If you are in the UK and you would like to see a Honda Prelude Type R please let them know.

    I have a fondness for the Prelude after owning a first generation which unfortunately disintegrated around me.
    This new generation is definitely something I would consider, my only criticism with the styling is that all Preludes were notchback coupes this one is a fastback and has a more Prius vibe going on.

      I was around when the prelude came out new. Yes it doesn’t look like the old prelude but at least it isn’t an suv (look at the poor Capri). I think it looks good and the front looks kinda like an NSX or CRX. The prelude wasn’t around long enough to establish what it was going to look like. The 1st one wasn’t great but the last one I liked a lot! Also, I was commenting that the design is not bloated or overstyled like it could have been like the older civics. This looks way sportier than any Prelude ever did they just better give it performance at Nissan Z level! It can't be at BRZ/Toyota 86 level because this was always the most expensive Honda.

    I wish they would targa top all these sporty/sports cars. Like the Z, BRZ, 86 etc. I LOVED the old Prelude but couldn't afford it back then. I would love a new one and I hope they have a normal wheel option instead of the spare tire black rims. The front looks like the CRZ which I owned. I loved that car except for the auto engine cut feature which was cutting off when I was moving with the manual gear box...Almost got me in two accidents.
