Allana, I’m sorry but I don’t think this is right. I think you’re a soft autumn or soft summer-definitely soft, not high contrast. Can we get a second opinion please?🤷♀️
I agree, especially once the skin analyzer mentioned being neutral-cool toned, I was so confused to where all the high contrast deep autumn lingo was coming from.
I'm so glad I came to this comment section - my money is also on you being a soft autumn and I feel validated by my scepticism about what you've been told. Soft autumns have shoulder seasons of true autumn and soft summer which is why you can pull off both some of the richer, earthy tones but also rock some cooler toned makeup and outfits. I feel like you've been given a lot of contradictory info but, other than the contrast thing, the metals and hair colour jumped out at me the most. Your metal recommendations are bang on for a soft autumn; if you were a dark autumn you'd need deeper, richer golds and pewters. Dark autumn shoulders deep winter and they were the colours you felt the least comfortable with. Re: hair colours, autumns cannot convincingly pull off black or cool toned shades like the purple she recommended, even a dark autumn. Those are recommendations for winters. If you want to go richer you'd need to look at chestnut browns, even a rich auburn but again, these would be too overpowering for a soft autumn. Your makeup and sweater choice in this video are perfection! Stunning, illuminating, no notes. You've nailed it.....for a soft autumn. If you truly were a dark autumn this look might have washed you out a bit.
Yes I agree, I don’t think a Deep Autumn can pull silver, while a Soft Autumn can
@@MusingOnBeautyDeep autumn are neighbor to deep winter (which is a cool season). That makes deep autumn varm-neutral, same as for soft autumn (also warm-neutral). The difference between soft autumn and deep winter is not the temperature, it's value and chroma
I’m a weird deep autumn because I’m a deep autumn with lighter skin with dirty blonde hair. My girl had to triple check me because it’s not typical for someone that looks like me to be a deep autumn. I went in thinking I’d be a light spring or summer.
So as a weird deep autumn, I’m agreeing with you. I was clearly warm from comparing warm and cool. The first clue I was deep autumn came when winter colors looked sooo much better on me than summer. Summer was by far my worst palette. I now steer clear from summer colors because I can’t unsee it. The analyst was really surprised comparing winter and summer. All soft colors looked awful on me. Like the color shirt she’s wearing in this video looks great on her but would look awful on me. But autumn was clearly better than spring.
My first best palette was deep autumn, then true authumn, then deep winter.
THIS comment!!!!!!!! everything I wanted to say about this video.
I'm by no means an expert honestly I don't know anything about this at all but watching the video it seems like she just went off your reactions to each of the choices. Either way it was a fun/different type of video to watch.
Haha I think you’re right !
Hi Allana! Color analysis professional in Italy and Mua, here 🙋🏻♀️Have you tried googling other people who are deep autumn? They’re definitely deeper in the overall complexion. Also, autumn and summer are a low contrast seasons and saying that you have a high contrast doesn’t make any sense. (From my perspective, bigger stripes make the canva less busy and less contrasted 😵💫)
The method she uses ie really different from what I’ve been taught and I don’t see coherence in the information you have 😞 I’m linking the channel of two colour analysis experts trained with the same method as mine, so you can understand better what I’m talking about. I would have guessed you were a soft summer or soft autumn, but I could never say from the camera, these analysis have to be done in person. But one thing I would say for sure is that high contrast wouldn’t suit you! The piece of fabric I use to determine the high contrast has thinner stripes but black and white. I can’t see high contrast between white and grey, wouldn’t you say the contrast is higher between black and white? 😉 anyway, check out the girls here and I’m sure you’ll understand better what I mean! And you bet when I’m coming to Vancouver I’ll bring my kit with me and analyze you myself! 😜
youtube.com/@colouranalysis_studio?si=0OcQwsH_GhptkP5d
I thought exactly the same! She looks more like a soft autumn to me 😉
Cannot agree with you more! High contrast is black and white. Low contrast is more grey toned, what she showed. Interesting was the big patterns vs small ones. Never seen that before online.
@@handsomebynatasja2947 me neither! Yes the pattern is really an interesting take, but the bnw vs white and grey it's so logical in my head I can't go against it 😅
@@Xandimaus89 Yeah if I had to I probably would lean towards soft autumn, because she seems to be working better with the deep autumn section than the light summer one. But I'm just making assumptions and also that's a technical thing of the method I use which I'm noticing its not universal 🤯
De vs light is based on undertone not skin color.
I’m not an expert but I’m not sure that lady did her job all that well.. I definitely agree with some of the comments pointing out that you are in fact not high contrast and probably not a deep autumn and she just confirmed all your reactions to what you liked or disliked instead of explaining why exactly some colours suited you better than others, which doesn’t always necessarily have to align with the colours you personally like and there’s a whole theory about it she didn’t appear to consider. I‘d definitely do it again if I were you, to compare with someone else‘s professional opinion 🙈
first of all thank you for letting us take part in your colour analysis session, they're always so much fun to watch. from watching your make up and outfit videos however i would strongly suggest that you're a summer. not sure what subcategory but definitely a summer. when you wear white, baby blue and silver jewellery you are positively glowing. i also agree with the comments that point out that you're indeed not a high contrast. lastly, as soon as you have a cool undertone, which you most definitely have, you cannot be a warm season like spring or autumn. tan or no tan doesn't matter because colour analysis is all about the undertone of your skin, not the overtones.
My own non-expert-yet-decently-versed guess is Lan's a Soft Summer.
@@mizshellytee I agree. I'm also a soft summer and baby blue is one of my best colors.
@@mizshellytee I always thought Lan's a true summer.
I know they put that turquoise on her and I was like wow that’s beautiful that light turquoise
@@mizshellytee I think that a lot of people are confused by the fact that she created Picante blush which is perfect for warm seasons, but she actually looks better with neutral/cool and soft colours. I'm pretty sure that she's a soft summer as well...
I’m screaming at these comments y’all 😭😂
We are clearly all very concerned 🤣 your look in this video is stunning by the way! Team spring for you 😅
HAH!!!!! You are stunning no matter what color palette they say you are!!! 😂
The people have spoken!!! We will pay for a second opinion 🤣
Hilarious! Some people sound generally angry 🤣🤣! Anyway I thought it was v interesting an I think you’d look smokin as a red head!!!
People are wild. The deep and soft autumn colors look great on you, but people love to hate smh
Absolutely NOT NOT NOT! No way. You're probably a soft autumn or a soft summer. I need to look a little harder but no way a dark autumn no way.
Oh nooooo! For the sake of science and entertainment, you need a second opinion! Carol Brailey does wonderful work!
You could be a "neutral cool" in a light olive undertone way. I'm a light olive and the beauty industry always fail us. The neutral foundations are the closest shade match for us since when it's cool it looks PINK on us and when it's warm it looks yellow or orange, never right.
Can I just say you look absolutely STUNNING in this outfit with your makeup. You are LITERALLY GLOWING!
CAME HERE TO SAY THIS VERY THING!
Need a video on this look for sure! Polish too!
And it's NOT a deep autumn color!
This is insane. There’s just no way you’re a deep autumn - maybe a soft autumn, but I definitely would have said summer or spring. None of your features nor undertones are ‘deep’! You have bright eyes.
I could be wrong....but it seemed like there was a LOT of contradictory information given to you in your analysis. We all know that autumn is warm, but your skin has a neutral-cool undertone?? How can orange blush suit you if you have a neutral-cool undertone? You both agreed winter dark colours don't suit you but she suggested you consider dyeing your hair black??
I haven't seen the pattern thing before and it does make sense from a body type perspective (think Kibbe body types) but I don't quite see how it shows your colour contrast.
Finally, ChatGPT is a chatbot and not a trained colour analyst so please keep that in mind.
Hmmm.............
I agree! This entire analysis makes no sense to me given all of the other expert information I've been watching over the last year or so. There's no scenario where a deep autumn is going to look good in cool-toned makeup!
I just got a color analysis and I have neutral-cool skin tone but am (soft) autumn. Sometimes you need the opposite color to balance what is missing from your skin tone. Although i agree with everyone else that she is not a deep autumn.
@@sussie9895 I don't know what system of color analysis made that up but ok
@@sharrlizz research undertone versus overtone 🙄
I'm a light spring, and I have a neutral-cool undertone. My sister season is summer, and I can wear some light summer colors.
Those are HEX codes, just keep in mind, those are based on a single pixel you select, and not super indicative of your whole face. For example, if you select a part of your face with a lot of redness or a lot of shadow, the colour it gives you (in a HEX code) might not be super accurate. Colours also look different IRL than on a screen depending on how your monitor is calibrated.
For reference, I'm a graphic designer.
Can you do a video of the makeup look you did for the main office look. It’s feels so pretty and fresh with definition around your eyes. Perfect for summer.
Allana you're some sort of summer, girl 😭
THANK YOU.
Yep, that was my first guess, and it was confirmed when she wore the baby blue.
I love that you mentioned it looks different in person and on camera. She was so thorough!
I definitely thought you were a soft autumn…and still do! Just based on everything I have read in an ADHD hyperfixation 🤣 the outfit you’re wearing here screams soft autumn to me and looks amazing on you. I’m a deep autumn and as far as I know, the primary colour aspect of a deep autumn’s overall appearance is dark, then warm. Eyes and hair should be dark and there is high contrast. Soft autumn is more muted, which I think is definitely more you!
I think you should do an analysis with the ColorAnalysis studio gals. They are extremely qualified and have a lot of training and experience. Definitely worth a second opinion
With the info in this video, it looks like you’re more of a soft autumn. Your hair isn’t dark enough to be considered high contrast imo
Agreed. High contrast is like the Snow White archetype, the dark hair and pale skin, which you can see more easily with the eyelashes and brows
her voice is so soothing😴💫
I think you should have this redone. The whole contrast and necklines is just bananas
Right!? Necklines is so much more about how broad your shoulders are, the ratio of bust to shoulders, the length of your neck, width of your head compared to your shoulders… those neckline drapes made no sense 😂
I immediately put you as a soft autumn so figured it would be #1. Then any other warm seasons would complement. I always learn a lot with these color analysis videos so thank you for sharing
What a fun exercise! Thanks for sharing your results and thoughts.
Btw, LOVING your office setting and background for filming✨✨✨
Great video 🫶 So interesting to see how different colors can make or break us. Honestly, you look amazing in anything
Thank you for sharing your experience! But unfortunately I agree with the rest, you are not deep autumn at all 🙈 Think you should repeat this with someone else who can actually explain the logic and structure of colour theory. Draping you in 50 different colours and asking which ones you like is definitely not the way to do it.
I knew there was something off even before the final results. Never seen a color analysis conducted in this manner where the client (Allana) seems to be the one in control as opposed to the expert! Her judgement was skewed towards personal preference and confirmation bias.
Youre such a soft autumn❤
Alan please try out Carol Brailey's colour analysis services... she is truly an expert in the field
I got analyzed by Carol, and Im happy with my results.
Why did she say you should dye your hair black if she says you are a Deep Autumn and you have a cool undertone? 🤔
I always knew you were a autumn!! I know everyone is yelling in the comments that you are a spring or summer but I’m telling you, autumn palette always fitted you so well! I would love to see a more deep and rich hair color for you next 😍
There is no way you’re a deep autumn. But you look stunning in the sweater and makeup you’re in in this video!
I feel like the color analysis and high/low contrast goes way over my head at some points, but it's undeniable that that was a very relaxing ASMR session if I've ever seen one!!
Allana this was very interesting to watch, you could def see the colors that worked and brightened your face. Thank you for this video.
So since so many people have so many opinions on your look and how they disagree with the results, it might be fun to do like a so I’m not a deep autumn? Series where you dress and do your makeup like the other seasons.
On a side note I just wanted to say how lovely it was to see you enjoy this process so much. It was really fun to see.
This is genius!!
Such a cool experience! I'm glad you got some fun takeaways and PICANTE!! 🔥
Realy for that Kibbe analysis next!
This!!
I think soft autumn makes a lot of sense for you! It's the green eyes that make the difference I think. :)
This was so interesting! I’m always so confused when I’ve seen people figure their color out so this was really cool to see
Yess! She definitely has de most ASMR voice, I was thinking the same throughout the video 😂
I really loved the muted pastels on you and deep autumn…I wasn’t expecting you to be deep autumn but when she put those colors to your face it really made a difference
Deep autumn here 😁 it's fun how I always took inspiration from your fall looks to elevate my style 🤣 who knew! By the way... People always disagree about colour analysis but how can we judge from this side of the screen! 🤷
Omg look at this office filming setup and the lighting!!! Thank you for all your cleaning/tidying efforts ✨ 💕 😂
YAY! I am so excited that you did this, I think I suggested a video idea similar to this awhile ago and am excited to see your results!!! I want to do one so badly!
I really enjoyed this Allana, thank you for entertaining me ❤
Awesome! Would be interesting to see if you’d get the same results from a different analyst 🤔
The bright summer looked great!
this is the video I was truly expecting!!! 🎉
I loved this video!! I also had no idea about the necklines but I totally saw it when she held up different ones! I do think that some of it is personal preference and what you think looks nice on yourself! I’ve seen a lot of videos and there seems to be a lot of times where people disagree with the results (even differences in professional opinion) but I think that’s partly while it’s helpful to do it in person so you can see yourself what you like! I’ve done it online and it’s helped me narrow it down but I still want to do it in person so I can see for myself too!
Very educational! Thank you for sharing and I’m happy you had a great experience and learned more about yourself through it 💚💚
Love that you did this
Definitely do NOT die your hair purple black lol 😂 this was whack 😅 loved every moment
i just wanna say your makeup in this video looks BEAUTIFUL 😍😫👏🏻
you’re a true spring allana!!
can’t believe how scammed you’ve been! go see carol brailey she is the best out there!
and for the people saying she is a soft summer or soft autumn, when there is absolutely nothing muted about her…where’s the grey 😵💫 common mistake when people are true spring in reality btw
I thought she was a true spring as well!
You literally can't be deep AND soft. They are complete opposites, she definitely just went with what you liked.
@@alanekosanovichcahalane777 I guess it depends on the color analysis system... Because in 12/16 season color analysis there is no "soft winter" and the deep palettes have higher value and medium/high intensity colors (colors with more black added, making them more saturated deep colors), where soft colors have medium/low value and light intensity (meaning gray is added and you can't get depth by adding gray).
They are opposites on the intensity/contrast scale. So someone who would be in a "soft" category would need the less intense/softer colors to shine. And by default wouldn't shine in intense/deep colors. And vise versa.
So while there are lighter colors in the deep palette and darker shades in the soft palette, their intensity is completely different. They will be clearer and more intense in the deep palette. And the soft colors will never have the depth of a "deep" palette.
Colour analysis studio on youtube explains it really well.
Now, you can borrow outside of "your palette" typically with a "sister season". But that season has to share the important component of your palette. Aka depth, brightness, lightness, softness. Or undertone for those who are fully cool/warm.
When I see you in light blue colours with silver jewelry, I am alsways stunned how it makes you glow and shine! Always beautiful!
Love this! Thanks for sharing!
I’m looking like a deep autumn 💯 Love this! ❤
Don’t you normally have your hair covered and no makeup for a colour analysis?
To determine undertone hair would be covered, to see how colours and skin react. But to determine intensity level and (sub)season, the hair is not covered. At least in the analysis videos I've seen.
I do know that the color you’re wearing right now is pretty on you. The light tan is gorgeous whatever color that is hard to tell from here, but it’s beautiful with your make up.
Hi Allana, love you but the result it’s wrong, when you do the color analysis you have to be totally makeup free and have your hair covered (not the best look in the world I can understand). It's impossible for you to be in deep autumn, generally the complexion is much more tanned and the tan simply lasts all year round. I'd say you're a summer, hard to say in what undertone.
So excited ❤
It’s so cool! I need to try this!
Wow, fascinating. It’s hard to see the colour difference impact on camera but the stripes and patterns were insane. 😮
That was very fascinating! I have been seeing the suggestions for videos of this, however I didn’t know what it was.
I loved this! 🤩
I hate to be a hater because I love you so so much, buut even knowing you’re a champagne gold girlie means spring, typically. I do agree with the comments because you don’t really have enough contrast to be a deep autumn. I would be so interested to see you get another analysis with someone like Carol Brailey or other highly regarded professionals. I’ve always thought you were a spring, but I definitely think she was getting some stuff mixed up. (Also picante is like a true spring shade)
This was so cool!
This was very interesting and informative … thank you!
…All this being said, you look BEAUTIFUL in all your favorite colors!!! You’re naturally drawn to your colors! I think it’s VERY close but I think you’re primarily a soft autumn too 🙈 you pull off all your favorite colors beautifully!!! Which makes sense since soft and dark autumn are sister colors. I think I’ve always been drawn to your style and color choices since I’m likely in the autumn family too! But you look so beautiful in your softer muted neutrals and while I love them too, but it would wash me out. The contrast is so interesting to me, haha I’ve never thought I look good in smaller patterns.
But also, I beg. Don’t dye your hair black! 😂 💕
Please get an analysis with Carol Brailey I know everyone says soft autumn but I think you’re a true spring. It makes sense with the colors you gravitate towards in your wardrobe. Picante is a TRUE SPRING color. You are warm, medium to low contrast.
This was so fun to watch
Loved this x
yay everyday may!
This was so fun! I love anything color analysis related and it’s my dream to do one appt. I’ve heard about contrast, it’s the only analysis I can make on myself, and I was surprised that you’re a high contrast, I’d bet that you’re a medium. Anyhow, thanks for sharing your experience ❤
Not me worried about your new yellow set after this. This was so helpful!
Love it!! And did she say something about black/white? Should you go more to the dark brown side or is black fine? 🩷🥰
I’m definitely an Autumn too!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍 those are my fav shades
Loved this 🖤🖤🖤
would have guessed soft summer. deep autumn seems totally wrong to me. 😵💫
I have the same features as you (eye color, hair color, neutral skin tone) and I identify myself as soft summer. blue jeans and a white shirt is your best look.
I always thought you were cool because you gravitate towards cool pinks in blush and lip (although love a pop of picante!) and was honestly shocked about your result being a warm season . The silver made you glow. I agree with the other comments - perhaps worth another opinion. 😅
The results are so you! I want to go through my wardrobe asap 😂
This was so much fun to watch. What I got out of this is that we’re color analysis twins (autumn vibes) 😂😂😂 as I’m rocking burgundy colored hair for the first time ever and am loving it. Never thought this color would suit me. Also all the fragrances you mentioned I absolutely love ❤️
The makeup you’re wearing in this video is amaze !! What products are you using ?? Tutorial??
It's fascinating to me how we gravitate towards colors and tones that suit us the best without even knowing anything about color analysis. This should make closet declutter a little easier (maybe not lol)
Same!
I've always wanted to do this!
off topic but your make up is immaculate!! can you list what you used or is there a tutorial you have previously done on this look??
Im in awe
Such an interesting video!!! Thank you
Loved this, so interesting. Trying out the ChatGPT tip 😊 but would love to go get this done for myself.
Second opinion with Carol Brailey please! She’s even in Canada x
Loved this video! Next you should do a Kibbe body type analysis!! I’d be so curious to see!
I tried a version online and came up with deep winter and and it matched what colours I gravitate towards.
You’re supposed to leave the fabrics on longer and look ONLY at your face. With the right colors, your imperfections will fade on their own. And with the wrong colors they stand out. It’s not about which colors people like/dislike
My bet is a Warm Spring with the method Carol Brailey uses. She’s in Canada but she does analysis online so super easy. Check her out
you should drop the whole analysis as an asmr video
i think it makes a big difference if you only look at your face as they go through the colors, not look at the swatches themselves. more accurate reading that way. she was so sweet though!
I always thought you were soft autumn
Soft autumn makes way more sense to me. The soft colors looks so nice. I feel like a second appt with Carol Brailey would solidify for sure. She’s AMAZING.
Me too! Colour Analysis Studio here on youtube is also amazing!
I have similar colouring and think of myself as a soft autumn with a soft summer subtype. Similarly to Allana I can pull off both warmer and cooler tones and can look good in deeper colours also, which perhaps suggests a secondary deep autumn subtype 🤔 I was surprised when it was suggested her primary type is deep autumn! Definitely not an exact science 🧪
I think so, too. The definition of dark autumn: "You are a Dark Autumn if the primary colour aspect of your overall appearance is Dark...." definately not Allana...." 😉
Me too. No way she is a high contrast cool skin. This is crazy!
I’ve definitely considered contrast for myself! I’m blonde and probably lean towards spring/summer and have experimented more with low contrast outfits lately, it has changed the game! Although now my wardrobe is becoming only one colour lol
This is so funny! We could not have a more different skin/hair tone but I am also a deep autumn. And I’m always swatched neutral/cool for my makeup because of the pink in my cheeks, but in actuality, I have green olive undertones…so maybe one day they’ll be able to get the skin tone correct for makeup :)
Now I want to know about the contrast too!
Also, I remember my mom getting this done in the early 90’s when I was a kid!
I’m confused- I’m quite certain you are a soft summer.
I’m not sure, but it seems you had makeup on during the analysis, and that can affect your results, bc you can’t really see the difference on your skin (some colors can really emphasize dark circles, redness, melasma). Not an expert, but I had my analysis done by a professional as well and I loved it! Since I’ve watched the video of you wearing that colorful suéter I thought you would be light summer. Also, cool pink, light blue and neutral/cool brown looks so good on you 😍
