Hey, thanks a million - you saved me from buying a new alternator. You did say BOSCH BTW, some people here complain that it's confusing for them. Good Job man!!!. ✌️👌👍✌️👍👌✌️👍👌
Bmw also used Valeo alternator brand as their stock alternator on brand new vehicles
Thanks so much for this video. I’m gonna buy a Bosch and replace the old one. Just a a precaution.
Mine e90 328xi just stepped over 210k km and this part went out, seems like a lower brush gives up faster than the top one. So if you getting weird voltages like 11 -13v, it's most likely that the top brush trying to compensate for the lower one.. :/ after replacing voltage regulator i'm getting 14+v. I've noticed overcharging error and 15v coming from alternator, but not each time. So you have to track for couple of days or best is to use a secret menu and track voltage while driving :)
Can this also cause the positive terminal yo overheat
Oh come on how can you recommend BlueDriver for an e90. .. sure it will help if you're dealing with problems but if you want to just monitor sensors it can't even read the oil temp. Which is the one I look at most.
Thank you for this turorial ! I have the same problem .did you have to charge the battery after changing the regulator?
I did replace the battery because it wasn’t replaced for a long time
you are charging the battery while driving the car
Thanks for the clear information.👍🏻
Do you have a 180 amp alternator or 150 . Mine is over charging and fried the battery but I have a328i with a 150 amp alternator. The 180 amp alternator is cheaper than the 150 amp so I was just going buy a 180 but if the 150 has a voltage regulator I try and replace that instead of buying a new alternator.
I would recommend get in the 180 amp
2011 BMW 528i 210A Alternator is different and uses a different voltage regulator.
Which is true so is recommended to buy the same alternator
Mines be broken off for awhile.. is that bad
yes
@@PistonPlay what should I look out for ?
You can replace the voltage regulator without taking off the alternator
That is true but for a person who is doing it for the first time they need to see exactly what is it that they’re pulling what they’re removing you’re not able to get Clearview angles inside for the camera
@@PistonPlay either way great video👍
Man this is Useful but too much talk😊
Those symptoms at the start of the video are definitely not because of the voltage regulator!
Why would the fob not work and cluster bug out on a car that is not running?
Alternator voltage regulator is there to prevent over/undervoltage while the alternator is spinning.
It's a decent video on how to replace the regulator, but everything else is horseshit.
Everyone making CZcams video’s about this Confusing everyone because this bosh part number is NOT compatible with a Valeo Brand Alternator Another OEM part that is made For BMW & not all 3 series are equipped with a bosh brand alternator!! SMH 🤦♂️
