Deva Mahal, "Snakes" - Skyline Sessions

Deva Mahal is a genre-defying artist rooted in soul/R&B, with branches extending into indie/alternative rock, pop and gospel. The daughter of legendary musician Taj Mahal, you could say she was born with blues in her blood, though her artistic path has been multifaceted and original. Mahal doesn't seem concerned so much with style and legacy; she's more interested in communicating truthful and vulnerable emotion--and her vocal instrument is a knockout communicator. She visited Skyline Sessions to record "Snakes," from her acclaimed 2018 album Run Deep, and her latest single "Your Only One."
