The word play in this song is top notch. You have to read the lyrics as he says them. He isn't saying Mike Pence, he even tells you that. Then he hits it again and still doesn't say it. It's amazing how he centered an entire song on Covid, being the current event, yet NONE of it is actually about Covid. It's f'n amazing. And there is so many double entendre it's insane. NO ONE writes like him. In any genre. The amount of thought that goes into his lyrics astounds me. It's like math.

Nobody can touch him when it comes to flow and rhyme patterns. Not sure if you all have done a reaction to "Sing for Moment," Em tells a fantastic story and goes hard to a smooth Aerosmith sample.

His old music is genius in it's own ways. Guilty Conscience is so different. Songs like Bonnie and Clyde or Rock Bottom or If I Had are powerful in their own ways, speaking to the people who can relate in a very strong way. Lots of old Em has a ton of value, beyond just being impressive lyrically.

That face mask bar was a triple cuz he also meant his flow so toxic and dope, "it calls for a face mask" 🔥🔥🔥 wow this is my first time hearing this one too. Crazy bars 🚨 this is definitely going on my top 10 Em tracks all time and that horn in the background was perfect too. It felt like he was on a victory lap at that point. I love this song. That’s why you gotta get on MTBMB. Old Em is great and you’ll find a lot of people who will claim MMLP or even Relapse is top tier Em, but I think he has only gotten better. Kamikaze and MTBMB A&B hit so much harder in the lyricism with the double and triple entendres.
I wouldn’t expect anyone to catch them all on the first listen, there’s still stuff I catch after like 100+ listens or reading YT comments. Y’all were hype on how many you got and only got like 1/4.
Agreed and Im 39 and been an Em fan since the beginning AND have a quarter sleeve tat of the Slim Shady LP album cover tatted on my forearm lol. both MTBMB albums and Kamikaze are 3 of my faves and MMLP2 is heavily slept on and probably my 4th or 5th favorite album.

1/4? They caught far less. It's not just bars. There are schemes and metaphors.
When it comes to lyricism, my favorite Eminem era spans over MMLP2, ShadyXV, Southpaw and Revival. On some songs off these albums the wordplay gets so complex it's almost cryptic and gives me MF DOOM/Aesop Rock vibes. I caught some crazy stuff that nobody pointed out yet, not even Genius. It seems that since the Revival "thing" he's trying to get back to his Recovery/Hell: The Sequel, Lil Waynish style of lyricism, where he's trying to hide the punchlines right in front of your face, so it's easier to catch. Nothing wrong with that, but I wish he put out something like Right For Me or Psychopath Killer again.
Relapse is definitely top tier if not the best

One of the best things with reaction channels like this is that they see how great Eminems modern/latest projects is, not being biased coming from probarbly nostalgia in many cases for long time fans not enjoying his new stuff. For me most of his new material is just more advanced and even better lyrically. Old Eminem material is great in its own way of course starting from Marshall Mathers lp, but as a true Eminem fan, i got to say..even generally speaking a good album, Slim Shady LP is Eminems most overrated album in my opinion, while Kamikaze, and Music to Be murdered by being his most underrated. I think Relapse, Recovery and Marshall Mathers lp 2 is the only albums after his comeback that got the recognition it deserves. I also think Revival have several fire tracks on it, although theres some tracks i dont enjoy on that projects as well and im overall glad he got pissed to ignite his fire to make Kamikaze and so forth..Now though i want a new project similar to what he tried on Revival, just having more Royce features and such, not that more pop music direction in terms of production and features
I listen to the slim shady LP more than anything while I don't think it is his best lyrically that album is just too much fun
