Spirituality means lowering mental activity, enhancing life experience in totally intense fully. The moment you trap by mental activity you will miss the fluid then life becomes very dry and rigid. It creates the space between your energy and mind and body. As kids we have a lot of life due to less mental activity, as we age our mental activity occupies the space our life experience goes down. It's a personal experience.

In a way he is right and also wrong at same instant. Yes, there is nothing called powers in spirituality. In spiritual path you may acquire newer or enhanced human competencies, which for others may appear surprising. But in reality it is possible for everyone, if they work.
If he needs an examples of people of spiritual path who brought change in larger populations (like he said of marx and communism), maybe we can say, Gautama Buddha & Buddhism, whose teachings inspired followers of those times in acquiring enhanced competencies of body and mind, who in future built larger cultures, libraries, Temple constructions and countries based on his teachings which still persist.

What a lame answer ? Spirituality the word talks about spirit connection which means moving from a Physical dimension to a Non Physical dimension , it has a practical application on self not on world . A true spiritual person will not have a sense of his body and mind because he experiences much beyond body and mind . Talking about spirituality from a materialistic mindset results in this nonsense - he knew few instances about people of blind beliefs and generalising about them. The belief or faith or devotion (again these have differences) is only one aspect of spirituality. A person like RGV generalizing it shows his stupidity in the subject matter. Spirituality is a making man to realize his full potential as a life. That's why we have many spiritual leaders including Vivekananda. First have Vivekam which means the ability to differentiate what is temporary and what is permanent. RGV should study about spirituality, it's various aspects, and try some practices, at least for few years - then he can speak somewhat better about it. Otherwise, it's simply a nonsense. I suggest to try videos of Sadhguru, Osho, Jiddu Krishnamurthy and other spiritual leaders including other countries like Ekhart Toller, other traditions like Zen and of course Buddha's teachings also.
