#JohnnyCash #ManInBlack #LIVE
[Chorus:]
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down
Living in the hopeless, hungry side of town
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime
But is there because he's a victim of the time - Hudba
Johnny Cash was proof that reformist ideas and patriotism can coexist peacefully. Rest In Peace 🖤
We’re all victims of a greedy government brother.

Amen 🙏
Many years later and we still need a 'Man in Black'.
Amen
Is that you action Bronson ?
Amen to that!!
Yes we do!
Be one yourself. Thats the message
Imagine you are in the audience and have no idea you are about to witness premier of the eternal masterpiece.
Jason bro I didn't know you were a Cash fan!
I think of this, also, when I watch old live premiers of now iconic songs.
Perfectly stated thank you
you people are retarded. the man is a legend because you do expect him to do this.
If you're in *that* audience, the song is for *you*
Johnny Cash was a decent human being, and never forgot where he came from. An upstanding man who helped many people
“I wear the black in mourning for the lives that could’ve been, each week we lose a hundred fine young men” gives me chills every time.
Hello Friend 👋👋 How are you doing and how's the weather over there ?
It’s about the Vietnam war
Check his prison tours
Amen brother
if he would honestly mean it, he would be wearing red. red was always the color of ppl wiling to throw their bodies in the machine and fight for others and paying literally in that color.
Johnny Cash & Elvis are the ONLY musicians in history to be inducted into all 3...the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, The Country Music Hall of Fame & the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Let that sink in for a minute. Johnny truly was the voice of God. Everyone is gangster, until Johnny walks in the door. I grew up in Nashville & my father was the main photographer for the country music industry. I still have a pic of me at 6 years old sitting on Johnny's knee. It is, without question, my most valuable possession.
You were a lucky kid to have that experience.
Love Johnny but Elvis is also in all three, along with the Rockabilly Music Hall of fame..
@@joshrushaselvis Also true. Totally forgot about Elvis 🤦🏻♂️ Well, Jonny’s in good company. *edited
Dont you dare and sell that, no matter what happens!
I'm surprised Hank Williams isn't in gospel music hall of fame.. He's already in country music hall of fame, rock & roll hall of fame and songwriters hall of fame.. A case could be made he belongs in all 4.. That would set him apart.
"I Saw The Light" alone should rate that.
I am a black man in this country so l always figured he was talking to us. But that goes to show no matter what your color we all love this country with all it's faults and should try to help each other in these times. To one soul brother to another. RIP Johnny Cash
I Guess you're a country MUSIC lover?
@@JamesSmith-rc8vfWhat does that have to do with anything? Cash was a cross over and reached all genres!
Don't know whether you know, but Johnny had millions of fans both black and white. If you see his show from Folsom Prison prisoners of every race, color, and creed assembled for his performance. Johnny was a poet with the rare ability to speak to everyone on his own ground. God bless Johnny Cash.
No, he was just talking about people who experienced misfortune or injustice. Believe it or not black Americans in the 19th century aren't the only people in history who those apply to
No matter your background, skin color, economical situation or political stance, you can always appreciate Johnny Cash. I think everyone can agree poverty is bad, and that everyone can agree he was a fantastic musician. He never trodd down on anyone, and I respect the hell out of that. R.I.P.
He sounds revolutionary without being a show off. Imagine that.
worlds most humble
Humble is his badge of honor. His message is forever relevant and present. Thank you Man in Black. May your message inspire necessary and positive change in the world ❤️
Dude was real.
Im 18 years old and i hope that there are more fans in my age who like THE man in black

wout moens i believe that a man like Johnny cash could change the picture of good music at the moment
@@pascalkrappweis7566 True, I just can't find my way to todays music, there are some good ones but in general I'm not liking it at all :/
@@pascalkrappweis7566 Yeah well, it must be good, they have lots of fans, just not for me. I guess we were just born in the wrong time haha
Im 16 years old, and this guy is the reason my playing guitar. I survive with his songs even on my worst days. Thank you for giving me a life purpose Man in black your my biggest idol🖤🖤
You chose well.
I was going to leave the exact same words as Ronald Bittner but he beat me to it.
I have many heroes and idols from many fields like art, movies, politics and literature. But music is my greatest love.
Within music there are many great ones to admire - Bowie, Marley, Morrison, Joplin, the Cure, Bush, Bauhaus, Franklin, Freddy etc etc etc.
There are some that I rate higher than Johnny but when it comes to being true to yourself and your art, and just being plain straight forward and honest, Johnny does not play second fiddle to anyone.
You have indeed chosen well. Johnny is someone you can build on.
anyi benim gibi, arkadas
Rock on, brother
You have a good ear x
His songs is one of the best)
I live in Russia,, my English is sick, but i listen this man)

The feeling I get after listening to this song is out of this world. Deep thought Mixed with sorrow and happiness. Genius, Mr. Cash. RIP
Goosebumps all over. Still my fav🖤
I couldn't have said it better than you did,,,,Real Music!!!
I bawl my eyes out when I listen to this song. I've only just memorised Wayfaring Stranger to sing but now I want memorise this song. absolute genius & soulful songs all the way.
needless to say he had a great voice.
wouldnt be the same without the timing and other musical talents he possessed.
Indeed my friend.. INDEED 💖
A man that sincerely cared for people in a struggle. RIP to a legend. There will never be another Johnny Cash.
Not with that attitude there won't be
@@johnnybarebones Your right Johnny Barebones, im an idiot. There will be another Johnny Cash any second now because of...A good attitude. Fuck off!
pls wake up. johnny cash sincerely care for ppl in struggle? lol. you had ppl in you country willing to pay for your benefits in blood, means red, and you celebrate someone that highlights black! wake up you little sheep
thanks to technology and videos and recordings and the fact that today his music lives on in both young and old, young people who wasn't even born til a decade after J. R. Cash died rest the fundamentals of learning to appreciate and to play, sing, write perform and hopefully follow in his footsteps or shadows or even hopefully leave a presence as big as he did for folk rock, country, rock and roll, blues, hip hop, pop, gospel and even some rap music and hopefully continue to instill and or infuse musicians with the pure essence of his simplicity in verbosity, as only the father of modern music could do and is still, we can hear and watch Johnny long as you tube holds out and long as they keep remastering, it's the same ol songs I cut my teeth on the same firstv songs I ever heard in my crib when I didn't even know what words or music were songs I've chose to listen to all my life for fifty plus years from big river all the way to blown the whistle when I'm gone, sure I'd love some American recordings 7, 8,9, and or ten, but I get my new by those he influenced or the ones who he influenced influences , and when it's J. R. Cash time I'll take all the man in black i can so really man its like he's right here or like I'm flooding big river with him in st Paul Minnesota and until that day comes here in my home town uh til I feel things brighter I'm. This town's man in black, folk rock rules
there doesn't have to be cause we still have the same one we just don't have new recordings but he and his music and songs are proven timeless babe timeless Honored classics
Its been about fifty years since he first sang this. Every word still rings true.
there will be always poor/hungry/sick people of all ages so it will always ring true
50yrs later where still looking for the man in black!

The Man in Black is illusive...
Protože lidstvo se nikdy nepoučí😢

that's what real country music sounds like !
1:00 "I wear black for the poor and beaten down" at the same time a sweat drop runs down his cheek; like a tear. Cinematic!
Thank you.
I noticed that!
Am I the only young kid listening to this
@@MAFIO_BILL bruh XDDDDD
Love it , see the pain and happiness in his songs
I like to think that in Heaven, Mr. Cash has never worn black, and gets his rainbow everyday.
Ayo!
I love this
when he got to heaven he probably got joseph's coat of many colors
King James Version, Genesis 37:3 reads, "Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours."
Exploring The World ok
No he is there now happy and playing but he is still "the man in black" ,,,only he is happy on the inside!
It seems to me that when Johnny passed our world became a darker place
What a legend. Thanks Johnny Cash for the music and memories 😉
Back when you could be both a liberal reformer and a red-blooded American patriot
well said, because he was both of those and deeply religious as well. Not sure many today can integrate all three of those.
Still can

God, bring this man back to us❤️
Johnny Cash was often the voice for the voiceless.
He never shied away from the controversy that came from being so.
He was a man of principal.
Johnny sings to all of us about sorrow and misery. He doesn't forget poor people or soldiers. Still he hopes that things will be okay some day. I have listened this song hundreds of times with my finnish friends. One of Johnnys masterpiece as a songwriter and composer. Song touches deeply all of us in this world filled with sorrow and fear.
Regards from Finnish Lapland.
Yes because of that he idolizes by many Punk Rocker

And you gotta remember too, john knows what being poor was like, and he was a soldier for a good while,so he knows the life and what most are going through
@@connergohlke3098 that is true. He grew up in a poor working class family, his older brother was almost sawed completely in half during a terrible table saw accident earning money for the family.
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
Johnny was THE man
I am from India. I really salute this legend. What a thought and what a deliberation. I cannot write any more as tear drops from my eyes
I am from Australia. And I feel the same way.
As current today as it was way back - Johnny Cash's iconic hymn for the poor, the downtrodden and forgotten elements of society. One of my absolute favourites !
Mine too. I totally agree - things are just as bad and will get worse - absolutely horrific until the Day of Rapture - confused? The Rapture is when all God's Children disappear in the twinkling of the eye. Yes, I believe in Jesus just as Johnny Cash was - he's with his beloved June along with his Lord! I am NOT a Bible thumper, that is so wrong - you would say anything to get him/her to stop. An open hand - invitation - will get you someone who truly cares. God Loves You - He really does.
Surm
This is timeless and universal from the kind of American we need more of.
The part where he says "Each week we lose a hundred fine young men" with the crowd applauding after hearing it makes me tear up while simultaneously getting chills!
Johnny wrote that line as a reference to the men who were dying in Vietnam.
Yah. Remember when liberals were anti-war? My how times have changed
Johnny decided to carry the world's suffering on his back as it was his. And he did it gracefully until the end.
It's fitting that he had the same initials as another JC, who cared deeply for the downtrodden (and still does).
I went through a divorce in my 20's. Johnny Cash music and song helped me man up. Now in my late 30's and entering 40's I still appreciate Cash in so many different flavors.
Johnny cared about the people he sang to. He connected to the questions they asked him and made a masterpiece song.
The sweat that's rolling down his cheeks is the tears that couldn't come out of his eyes because of this song.
This song will never grow old... It will unfortunately always remain relevant.
Reminds me of the words of Christ; "The poor you will have with you always."
Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash are the only 2 who have been inducted into BOTH the Rock'n Roll and Country Western Hall of Fames. And they were friends.
real patriotism is the acknowledgment of change being needed, to make a country better
exactly. And if one does that now they're usually shut down and called a communist, sjw or snowflake.
Americans like to confuse Nationalism with Patriotism
Thanks for wearing black for us Mr Cash. And for speaking for us things we could not articulate to say. You are such missed.
The One and Only Johnny Cash!!!!!!
His music is so simple yet so profound
I'm 16 and Johnny cash means A lot to me I wish more people would listen to stuff like this, it would really change them for the better
Me too, I'm 17 (he died 21 days before I was born 😔) and I had heard his name a few times but never actively listened to his music but a week ago or so his version of Hurt came on my recommend. I'm so glad it did because now I have been inspired to pick up the guitar again and I feel so much happier for doing so :)
He sang gospel
yeah you got a good father. better honor him
I was a younger man when I heard Johnny Cash left us. I didn’t understand why so many mourned. I understand now and I mourn him everyday.
That hit really hard, wow. Imagine if country music was like this today
For the reckless ones who's bad trip left them cold
We need this man now more than ever.
I wonder if we'll ever get it right?? These past few years, and months have been very discouraging.
The world is full of mindless selfish point the finger at everyone but themselves type of people
I wouldn't want him to see the world now lol
@@Redfrog1011 you make a good point
You can see by the faces of the audience (young adults) he touched a few hearts, this song certainly has a strong message that we can all understand.

2020 and he still stands up for the people and he will do it 50 years from now. HE was a truly Great person
Especially when there’s COVID-19

I sent a link to this to my grandson, who has a band of his own, so he can see, hear and learn from a great person what can be conveyed thru music. There's no posturing here, just authentic presence. and caring values.

One of the best songs in human history.
I wear black because of many things, most of them for what Johnny Cash stood for.
Just listened to this on my house speakers for the very first time. Chills the whole way thru. Words do no justice to Johnnys song writing and voice.
Wow. Just Wow! Just as prophetic today as the day this song was introduced by the great man himself. This video needs to be played in schools and colleges everywhere to remind us how important it is to care for the less fortunate and the downtrodden.
He was always looking at the back mirror, not forgetting those behind. Rest in peace!
The great Johnny is by far my favorite performer.
Johnny Cash had compassion and integrity - he is a blessed man
Hello how are you doing..?
I'm a former musician.
I can't begin to explain how I came back to the Lord but I will say this much, I wear the black.
Figuratively, physically and spiritually.
I've taken off my pride(the original sin) and in humility I've put on the black.
I'm in mourning for all people everywhere including myself..
That's my life now.

Johnny Cash is a stronger man then myself. He wrote "each week we lose a hundred fine young men," sang it out loud and didn't shed a tear. You could tell when he sang it though, it really hurt him.
I wish we had more "rockstars" come up and perform with a guitar like johnny.
