This video is specifically about 'TIER-1 vs OTHER' colleges. The point I want to make here is that- do not leave a Tier 1 college for a Tier2/3 college only because you're getting CSE/IT in the latter and not in the first. But if you've got multiple options inside the basket of Tier 1 itself, then this rule won't work much and you can select an institute even based upon yur preferred branch.
I do agree with most of the points in the video, and this comment is important
For me my options were CS at BITS and non-circuital at IITs. I chose BITS because I had an inherent interest in CS and also for better MS opportunities abroad, should I wish to do so.
Every person's dilemma is different, choose wisely.

It's not about the college but the mentality of society is very fucked up. This perception and discrimination is because of the false iit hype and the thought that tier 2/3 people cannot be successful.
When it comes to placements, pay and internships, what Ambuj says about company preference for those from tier 1 college is indeed sadly true. Talented but sidelined tier 2-3 folks often take the entrepreneurial route.
Even many tier 1 folks are increasingly turning to founding startups, serial entrepreneurship or getting into the very lucrative JEE coaching business. The employment scene in this country is hopelessly scary, discriminatory and highly uncertain.

Bhaiya I think there is some sort of mistake in the software of bitsats because I attempted around 121 questions in today's morning and was very confident in getting 330+ score but got very less marks and many other students are also facing the same problem 😔

Just double the hardwork,even after these two years,still work double hard in college,first for your engineering and then do coding side by side in college,extremely hectic no time for any other activity.This is something everyone felt that our education system is so backward that there are engineering degree like mechanical,civil,chemical etc that have almost no use in life,no help in getting your dream company,In bits for summer internship google prefers only EEE,ECE,CSE

You are correct brother....but just for a fact, to get into Google (or FAANG in general) you don't necessarily have to do CODING...You can get into them even as a product manager, marketer, analyst, HR, etc...You just need to develop your skills accordingly...hence, coding isn't mandatory to get yourself into these companies

Yes bro your right even I attempted 138 qs and got only 110 correct worst scenario I thought I would get 340 but ended up with 302 and this is the case with most students we aren't even given an ans key we expect atleast some transparency already they are charging us with 3400 for the exam plus the difficulty within the shifts is varying too not expected from an institution like bits
I think the same is happening for me... I'm not sure though... I attempted around 111 questions and was sure of about 90 to 95 of them... But got very less marks....is this happening for anybody else??

Relatively more difficult than the Software Development roles. But there are a lot more options that just SDE & Core as I've also mentioned in the video: Finance, Product Management, Consulting, Supply Chain, Business Development etc

some facts about jadavpur university production dept- batch size-(35-40) ...one got Goldman Sachs(22 lpa) one got GAIL(psu-17 lpa),one got PAYU(17 LPA),ONE GOT OPTUM(16 LPA),2 got AIRBUS(12 LPA)one got Increff(16 lpa)one got gupshup(15 lpa),AND 10 GOT PWC(9LPA and 6 got internship from 3rd year),One got ITC(10LPA), 2 got Bajaj auto(9 lpa),2 got ZS(8.93 lpa) till now......And many got infosys,capgemini,tcs,wipro....placement is still going on...any many students are going to opt iits,iims and iisc and foreign universities....that's why choosing tier-1 clg over branch is more important

Bhaiya I absolutely agree with you..But if we wanted to go for IT/Finance and other non core jobs then why do we need to go to engineering college in the first place?? Because coding can be learnt without going to proper college also..Moreover if we want to go in finance field then we can simply take commerce over science as commerce is more oriented towards finance than engineering..
you are right ...colleges acutally dont matter...but its all about preference....of course companies will prefer college graduates than someone with no college education...engineering students are preffered more in every field and also..as he told ..the ambitions and peer group is great and startup culture is there so it will mould your mindset in a postive way too

Bhaiya but there's a mistake in your video. I completely agree with your point that college tag matters but isn't it difficult to go through four years of college in a branch like civil or chemical which we don't like at all and might end up getting very less gpa in the end.
You're correct buddy. I completely agree to you. But this is just a short term scenario that you're looking at. I'm talking of the long term view. After doing electrical (for example) from an IIT/NIT/IIIT/BITS/etc you can then go on to Harvard/Oxford/MIT/etc for your Masters degree more easily than being from a Tier2/3 college and have done CSE from there (obviously you need to be good enough with your skills).
@@ambuj_saxena_india actually i dont agree with the point that a person from a tier1 college is preferred more in colleges like Harvard because the recognition of the Indian colleges is not as much as other countries, when talking about international colleges you are not selected on the basis of your college at all but at the basis of you CV + other projects.. the only thing is that in tier 1 colleges you have a much better peer group which pushes you to make good projects thats it
plus branch matters when you want to pursue matsers in cs... how will you explain to them that you are changing your branch from civil to cs that. puts you at a disadvantage

Unlike Indian Institutes, Abroad Universities seek ambitious students not bali ka bakras.
Also im assuming that you will be unaware of Duke(cause your vocabulary ends at Harvard/Oxford/MIT)

Bhaiya can there be any error in software or some sort of mistake in answer key bcz many students including myself has scored even less than expected .In my case I attempted 135 questions on 7 aug morning shift I was dammed sure of 110 questions but result came and it showed 57 incorrect. Plz support and suggest something bhaiya.

Companies prefer those students from tier 1 (IIT's, NIT's , IIIT's and BITS..DTU, NSIT & few more included) because they have already cracked a competition mostly by self learning with the teachers helping them just a little bit. Companies hire them because they don't have time to make each employee understand the problem, inhibit the problem solving mind whereas students from those examinations have already proved that they can provide solutions to a particular problem when they are given an idea about the situation.😃

If one wants to pursue finance..then why engineering... nowadays..it's becoming a toxic trend to pursue your interest after a degree in engineering
Doing engg. Is like having multiple career paths to choose from later on, the main reason why it has so much hype over its scope.
Is there a major difference in ECE/EEE/ENI. What preference to choose among them.
Prefer ECE above yhe other two... but there is absolutrly no diff. Between EEE and EnI
especially in bits where you are way more free to explore between the 3 branches
BITs Pilani is a Deemed to be University. It has four off campuses. After completing the course, the students are obtaining same degree with out mentioning the name of campuses.The course curriculum and alumni for all campuses are same.Is there is any difference of faculty and infrastructure between the campuses of BITS Pilani (Deemed to be University)?Why the people are preferring BITs Pilani campus rather than opting for other campuses? Any difference for campus placement ?

And moreover they are charging huge fees
First the admission fees around 43000 and then the 1st semester fees 2 lakhs
So please guide if this fees are properly non refundable if we decided not to take the admission and also when we have to opt out to get refund as this time the josaa counselling will start later . So what if the bits will start their college

Don't think too much about all this. Study the subject you like with passion and dedication. Build your CV and profile. Once you are in a company no gives a damn about what college you were from. Only your work matters.

Sundar pichai never really got a cs degree and just knew coding superficially but it is his product management skills which has made google hire them ,reality is that management posts are higher paying than executive posts as more responsibility is relying on them

i m a 96.7 percentile holder and also my bitsat score is 277 if my adv doesn't go well i would certainly prefer vit cse tbh.I woul not ruin my ineterest just to show everybody that i m from bits with the lowest and oit of interest branch as being general candidate i wont get it in nit and iiit

Ikr it's become a bit depressing that whenever we think of Engineering only software engineer comes in people's mind and most of the IT jobs even amazon for that matter outsources some of the repititve tasks to India , only few companies are really good but are extremely competitive to get in

My son scores of year 2022 are as under.
1.JIPMAT 99.2 percentile, will get integrated MBA program of 5 years from participating IIM. Fee is high 4.5 lacs/year.
2.BITSAT 355/390, will get CSE at BITS Pilani.High fees
3.JEE mains 99.55 percentile, will get CSE at any good NIT/IIIT Allhabad(low fees) or Delhi or Banglore.
Fees at NIT/IIIT Allhabad is around 8 to 10 lacs only while fee at Bits is around 26 lacs and at IIMs it is same around 25.5lacs.
For same branch of engineering which will be better? And how good is integrated MBA. What will be better? Kindly answer as per your experience.
Indeed integrated mba is a good option thst to from iim but the case is iim jammu doesn't have a strong brand name like a b c inslite being an iim .and also companies vising iims prefer engineers from top colleges over the students choosing commerce feild as u stated in integrated mba ie. Bba+mba due to high quant and aptitude skills .
Take a loan or sell your property for bits Pilani cs it's worth it ,your son will get 10x the property u sold , in less than 6 years 😊

Sorry to say but none of them have a brand value as good as top nits, bits and iits and both are tier 1.5 so there's not much of a difference in terms of 'tag' so go for vellore IT

I got 96.43 percentile in 2 attempt as an OC candidate top nit are just a joke to me and coming to bitsat I scored 252 so I can only can expect low branch in which iam not interested. So left over options are only vit, mit. Iam hesitated to go with vit as intake is so much this might be a problem in long run. Compared with vit, mit might be better option due to less intake but here also due to some technical reasons I didn't gave my best shot that is the reason why I ended up getting ECE there.
