    great that you are using fish fertilizer and it shows in your garden, the benefits. actually though, fish fertilizer is not quite soluble, whether emulsion or hydrolysate. a soluble nitrogen source would be calcium nitrate - it is ions that are taken up by plants. with fish fertilizer, it is amino acids that are taken up by the plants - larger than ions. what is great about amino acids? plants don't have to spend energy to process them into amino acids because they already are obviously (they have to do that with nitrate and ammonium nitrogen, also urea). these are then converted to proteins. the big difference between emulsion and hydrolysate is that the oils are usually taken out in the emulsion process - these oils are very beneficial to microbes, particularly fungi. finally, not all fish fertilizers have high P in the NPK. if bones are included, they would have P and also calcium which great for all plants...blessings to all

    I use both. I really like the control fish emulsion gives me, and that it helps with water retention. I use Neptune’s Harvest Veg up until flowering, then I switch to Rose and Flowering. That last one is also great at forcing your fruiting veggies to flower. Works well on stubborn tomatoes that have too much nitrogen. :)

      @@mercedesbenzs600bash I just started using it as a supplement to Espoma Tomato Tone in my garden. My family and I are definitely surprised by the results it is having as a foliar spray on my Straight Eight cucumbers, the plant is growing noticeably fast and looks a little bigger than it was the previous day. However I did read that ground based fertilizers have little effect on plants since they utilize only about 10% of what is available for them through their roots. But as a foliar spray being sprayed early morning or after the sun goes down, the plant will use about 60 to 80% of those available nutrients through the stomata on the leaves.

      @Khans0120 Před rokem +2

      @@mercedesbenzs600bash it's best to plan when to add the fertilizer for that reason. If it looks like it will rain or the forecast says it will, then wait at least 48 hours to give the soil a chance to dry and you will know when by doing the finger test and sticking about two inches of a finger into the soil. This way, the dry soil will catch and absorb the runoff from the foliar spray

      My tomatoes tend to wilt heavily at the end of season, but I've seem to be lucky with no blossom rot so far. Usually the wilting is due to drainage for me, always get some bad weather which seems to dump more water than they like and the wilting comes on pretty quick.
      Sorry don't have any other suggestions at the moment if you are pretty confident in the watering schedule. Still learning here, but aren't we always 🙂

    "You are not going to want to miss this one." Well I am not so sure. I finally found the chemical composition of fish fertilizers, I reviewed the results of 10 samples and was not impressed with the chemical composition. High Sodium was the most worrying and I did notice an extremely high EC when fish ferts mixed with water. Ca low, Na very high, Mg low, Al high, Fe low as examples. Nothing there to be impressed with at all or to think it might be helpful. I read that the fish emulsion is supplemented at at the factories to give them the stated N P K. to improve marketing and that is one reason why some are not OMRI listed. I am trialing it and think the only reason it might be useful is the proteins and amino acids or cleating action it might contain or develop when used. Otherwise I remain extremely skeptical.

    You should re-consider using fish fertilizer on tomatoes becuase tomatoes bioaccumulate the mercury from the fish.

      One good thing about Neptunes is that they don't use "Trash Fish" (fish that Americans won't eat), usually Menhaden is used. Menhaden is caught in harbors and rivers on the coast and are exposed to coastal pollutants. They also don't use lake fish which usually contains Mercury and PCB's

    If ppl would answer op questions I would subscribe to their channel but when they won’t take time to answer important questions NOPE will not subscribe!! Everyone’s question is important or they wouldn’t waste their time asking them! For whatever reason you select what you reply to are usually of no importance!! Do better!

    man this is just a salesman video. what about the results? Did you make any written observations that you might happen to put on video or are we supposed to just take your word and go with it? You are not really in to gardening right? rather in to sales.
