Totally. Kate is impressively smart, very enthusiastic, and very sweet, but also quite trusting. She is also new to the big world of university and what lies outside of her farm in Minnesota. I worry for her. I hope her Dad (at least) keeps a vigilant eye on 'interested' guys.
We harvested our wheat two weeks ago. 51 bushels per acre. Good thing we can feed wheat to our livestock as we are in a drought in Illinois and our corn and hay is looking rough.
I just happened on your channel by chance. So enjoyable to watch and remember back to my college days. I’m 65 now and living overseas, but I am the grandson of a Kansas wheat farmer and spent 4 of the best summers of my life driving a wheat truck for a custom cutter from southern OK to northern SD. I can still smell that fresh cut grain dumping into the truck and the feeling at the end of the day that we had done a good work. Thanks for the video and may God bless you.

I was in Montana one time, way back in the Seventies and It snowed on the 4th of July in Roundup Montana, That was the Damndest thing I believe I have ever seen, during the Parade that day, I am from Arkansas and we hardly ever get snow in the winter. People don’t realize that wheat or any small grain is harder on a combine than corn. The corn shells off the cob really easily. It’s difficult to get the hulls off the wheat. Then again, you have people like us who grow genetics that will never process completely in a combine, and has to be run through a cleaning and sorting process after it’s taken out of the field. Small grains are real honest to goodness people food, that’s why I ride the struggle bus every year and produce it, in an area where you don’t typically see it. It’s actual nutrition, not a filler. You should see all the wheat they are growing in Egypt and Jordan again. A lot less kids are going to bed hungry in those nations due to the resurgence of wheat agriculture. Thank you for all your hard work.
