If you watched carefully, you will see that starting 2003 game 3, QLD were building a team, they had found their 9, 10, 8 and 12 by 2004.
Since Locky went to 6 they build a team around him, 2004 they were searching for fullback, found Billy stuck with him, hodges was there. Wesser had a go a 1 and failed Prince at 7 went average.
Thurston came in 2005 at 7 and the spine was complete.
Every other player was selected based on availability and the rest is history.
Tate, Tonga, Crocker, price, petro, hodges, Smith, thurston all started here. Only Locky was the one who played before 2003.
Good insight, was watching old highlights trying to see where and when the QLD switch was flicked.
