Tomato sandwiches are absolutely underrated, I've been eating them since I was a kid, and every so often I'll experiment with variations on a tomato sandwich. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had was dry farmed tomatoes, three layer pesto, sundried tomato, and feta dip, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper on toasted focaccia.
What you describe is a lot more than “a tomato sandwich!” Tomato, bread and Mayo doesn’t pique my interest, I prefer just thick slices of tomatoes on a plate with Maldon Crystal salt and Best Foods Mayo….other than that, if it has bread, I’ve gotta have avocado, lettuce, and/or bacon.
With all due respect, I'm Italian and I don't feel offended or bothered on how you pronounce ricotta! People need to chill. Man, you and your channel are just top notch!
LMAO! I just made one of these yesterday. Used Jalapeno Kettle Chips, Dukes and a Garlic Aeoli, with fresh spinach, on a multigrain bread... Cheap tomatoes though... Still hit the spot! Maybe not as fancy as ricotta and basil but its what I had on hand...
It's cool man, take a break, you're still at that nice point in CZcams where you deliver on all your new content and make good videos. I wasn't sold on your stuff early on but now I like watching your stuff all the time. Please don't stop making videos. You can sell out or do a shitty podcast but please keep your content like these recipe videos as what you do. Thanks!
Hey Steve, we pretty much love everything you do, so thanks for the amazing sandwich! Enjoy your travels and collabs; hope to see them on your channel!
Made this for my wife and I tonight and it was so amazing and simple. We used heirloom farm stand tomatoes from out on the north fork and it was seriously better than any other sandwich I’ve had in a very long time!
I wish we got heirloom tomatoes like that in my country. This looks like a nice sandwich. I used to make an Avocado, Tomato, Cucumber, Spinach sandwich with English Mustard and that is one of my favs.
Oooooh I like the ricotta! I was surprised, I was expecting the regular old “instead of mayo, use aioli!!” So cool that you mixed it up, also ricotta + tomato = match made in heaven! Cant wait to make this at home!!
Made this recipe and one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. All the little details make it extra balanced and good. I used sourdough toasted and the garlic rubbed on with the whipping of the ricotta puts it over the top. Thank you!
I love to cook and stumbled on your channel when I was looking for Braciole videos. Now I'm hooked and have been binge watching everything 😋 Love the people, the vibe, and the amazing creations!
Oh, I love a good garden tomato sandwich! I don't understand why anyone would have an issue with how you may say any words, You do you! Please don't change who you are for anyone, especially online folks you've never met💓
OMG! I just made these for my husband and I for lunch and they were amazing. I really like the ricotta blended like that. I know I’ll never eat a boring tomato sandwich again after trying these
Just made this but used a baguette. O. M. G. Perfection!! The garlic rubbed on the toasted bread combined with the whipped ricotta was incredible. Will be making this once a week until I’m sick of it…as if that’ll ever happen.
I really need to get veggies. Tomatoes are one of my favorite fruits and I love tomato sandwiches. I love this one you made. Now, I'm definitely getting tomatoes for sandwiches for the next month.
I literally just bought beautiful Jersey beefsteak tomatoes on the way home from the shore this weekend and made a tomato sandwich last night. Toasted sourdough, mayo, and tomato... but tonight, will be a variation of that amazing thing I just saw...
On a veggie diet for past couple of months and man this hit the spot!!! I added some Balsamic Glaze to the sandwich as well and it was 🔥. Thanks for the content. Best on CZcams and it’s not even close
Jersey tomatoes are the best. Lightly toasted bread, mayo, little black pepper, salt and jersey tomatoes. Perfection. Sometimes I enjoy adding some lettuce, raw onion, and Italian seasoning, garlic and a slice of cheese. Yum!!
My son just started making sammis w/ potato chips, and he loves Mozzarella Pomodoro, and this is essentially that in sandwich form. We will be making this very soon.
I thinks to add a depth of favor to that delicious sandwich and keep it simple is. Instead of spread mayo on both sides, put guacamole on the other slice of bread for a nice contrast of creamy favor to that sandwich. Love ur content!!! Keep up the great work! God bless u and ur family!!!! 🙏🏻
Instead of salt and vinegar chips I like a plain kettle cooked chip or a bunch of regular crispy Lay's chips. I'll have to try it with basil and whipped ricotta. Great video!! Keep up the great work
Man, I've been craving a tomato sandwich. I hear ya on the ricotta, but I got some N'duja aioli from work sitting in my fridge, and a nice focaccia. All I'm missing is the perfect tomato and some chips. Love the basil/chip topping!!
Love the idea! What i would do, ive made many sandwich like this. One thing I'd do different is I personally like a bunch of thin slices as opposed to i bug one.
I absolutely love basil, however.. That would be to much basil for me, that would completely obscure the taste of the tomato. I really like doing all sorts of variations of a blt, mostly substituting the bacon for something else and adding things like mozzarella or Dutch cheese (I am from the Netherlands) 🤤 I like to slice the tomato very thin as I don't really like the skin 🙈 Never would have thought to add chips, perhaps I'll give that a try! 😁
If you add the chips you probably won’t notice the skin, might be able to try the tomato a bit thicker; plus too the texture of lightly toasted bread will also obscure the skin. Cheers!
I love a big , ripe tomato from the garden still warm from the sun. Just grab some salt and eat it, while it drips down your hand, maybe wrist too….childhood memories here 😊
I’m gonna have to try basil again. When I was 9 my Dad got a short term teaching gig in Genova. Pesto was everywhere. I’m sure it was good, but basil is a bit much for a 9-year old’s palette. I’m 60 now, so it might be worth a try now.
Great video 👍, but the first with tomatoes, kewpie, s+p. Is first thing I do for days when get first tomatoes from garden, then start with grilled cheese.. then I start building more complex sandwiches, then mix it up with fresh tomato soup lol.. mostly always use mayo, but sometimes mayo and herb vinaigrette ect.. oh fried green tomatoes 👍, Piccadilly, bacon tomato jam, jar marinara, jar pizza sauce, or canning.. also jar fire roasted tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, sundried tomato pesto... Yes obsessed with tomatoes lol. Favorite for sandwiches is Cherokee tomato, even basic 'boring' tomato sandwich is the best way to eat that first tomato! Like to see what else do with tomatoes that haven't listed? I give too many away so want to know what an out of the box ideas there are🙏, ssry got excited lol, tyvm tc 🍅
that was one pretty tomato......mine are coming in now.....still green on the vine but they turning from green to light orange to red......I have been salting my tomatoes on a rack for ten or fifteen minutes both sides and patting them dry before placing on a sandwich..........super thin onions would be good on that too......I salt tomatoes for sandwiches, eggplant for parmesan, and cucumber for tzatziki to get the water out.
I love a good mater sandwich. And yes, it absolutely has to be Duke's! lolol Edit: Extra sharp cheddar and cucumber (no mayo) is also a summer favorite for me.
I think it’s cool to redo some recipes you’ve already made. But I would realy love to see your take on Ragu Bianco/White Bolognese or these kind of things 😘

Mmmmmm......I'm trying yours today!! YUM😋

i mean- using sundried tomatoes, or balsamic vinegar or focaccia is like a cheatcode individually. that sounded like a killer sandwich mate goodonya
Ohhhh yes please!
That sounds 🔥

Hey Steve, we pretty much love everything you do, so thanks for the amazing sandwich! Enjoy your travels and collabs; hope to see them on your channel!
That tomato is a marvelous piece of art!
You’re my favorite cooking channel. I love to cook and you make me better. 🌺🌺🌺
You are simply the best chef ever! No BS! Just real meal and practical😊
Made this for my wife and I tonight and it was so amazing and simple. We used heirloom farm stand tomatoes from out on the north fork and it was seriously better than any other sandwich I’ve had in a very long time!

Oh wow, that looks delicious! My mom used to put potato chips on her sandwiches and I’ve completely forgotten about that.
Oooooh I like the ricotta! I was surprised, I was expecting the regular old “instead of mayo, use aioli!!” So cool that you mixed it up, also ricotta + tomato = match made in heaven! Cant wait to make this at home!!
Looks amazing
Kettles do a balsamic vinegar and salt crisp - which would really complement the flavour profile of this sandwich. Will give this a try.
WOW that sounded n looked Fabulous!!!!
Made this recipe and one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. All the little details make it extra balanced and good. I used sourdough toasted and the garlic rubbed on with the whipping of the ricotta puts it over the top. Thank you!
You are fabulous !! Thank you for your great videos
My favorite combo: Toasted sourdough, bacon, arugula, heirloom tomato from farmers market, HELLMAN'S mayonnaise mixed with chile crisp, avocado.
I gotta try the chile crisp
Omg, this sounds amazing.
If it's not duke's mayo, it's not a real tomato sandwich!
I'm bout to replicate this, with dry cured bacon fresh sourdough bread, cherry tomato and tiger sauce mayo 🤙
@MG-qd6im The real question... how do you build the sandwich?!
Beat ya to it! I’ve had heirloom tomatoes from my garden since July 12. Yummo!
OMG! I just made these for my husband and I for lunch and they were amazing. I really like the ricotta blended like that. I know I’ll never eat a boring tomato sandwich again after trying these
love all your recipes
Just made this but used a baguette. O. M. G. Perfection!! The garlic rubbed on the toasted bread combined with the whipped ricotta was incredible. Will be making this once a week until I’m sick of it…as if that’ll ever happen.
Great reminder! Thank you!
Dang!! 😮 I can’t wait to try this!!
Man, that looks epic! I'm making that tomorrow!!!
I really need to get veggies. Tomatoes are one of my favorite fruits and I love tomato sandwiches. I love this one you made. Now, I'm definitely getting tomatoes for sandwiches for the next month.
There is honesty is genuine effort to transfer yourself to us that I find in myself as well.
This is just insane. I love it
Holy moly! That tomato looked amazing!
Dude 🤤 that looks amazing 🤩 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Soooo. A bruschetta sammmich with potato chip. Pure Genius. Headed to my kitchen immediately.
I love this! I may never make this sandwich, but I admire your enthusiasm and passion. It looks GOOD! It makes me want to make this.
It’s worthwhile 😊
My tomatoes just turned red the other day!! Woohoo!!
Love it
Haven’t tried it yet, Can’t Wait!
Good stuff!
I literally just bought beautiful Jersey beefsteak tomatoes on the way home from the shore this weekend and made a tomato sandwich last night. Toasted sourdough, mayo, and tomato... but tonight, will be a variation of that amazing thing I just saw...
Oh hell yeah. Making this tomorrow!!
Every part of this speaks to me soul you're a lowkey genius
On a veggie diet for past couple of months and man this hit the spot!!! I added some Balsamic Glaze to the sandwich as well and it was 🔥. Thanks for the content. Best on CZcams and it’s not even close
Nice one, cheers!
Wow…..that’s an awesome sandwich. On deck for me soon!
That’s delicious
About to go make this 😮
Creative as always! I use no fat Greek yoghurt instead of ricotta
My Grandma made it like this Southern Tomato-Sandwich, I loved it and do it today this way.
Dude, this sandwich rocked. Followed it to a T and loved it!
Jersey tomatoes are the best. Lightly toasted bread, mayo, little black pepper, salt and jersey tomatoes. Perfection. Sometimes I enjoy adding some lettuce, raw onion, and Italian seasoning, garlic and a slice of cheese. Yum!!
Awesome vid man!

My kind of sandy!
Bravo
Oh my gosh! Tomato sandwiches are my favorite 😋
Love the idea of ricotta instead of mayo, gonna try that!
Hello
Sending blessings here from S Africa ❤
This looks incredible. Always down for a bangin’ sandwitch.
That bright red, red tomato is a wonder to behold….so beautiful!
I love a good tomato sandwich. I also take a variety of tomatoes and put on top of pizza dough, with basil, olive oil and some grated cheese.
I grew up eating a sandwich with Pesto, Tomatoes, Lettuce and a HUGE chunk of Feta cheese... of course in a good piece of bread. Worth trying it out!
Instead of salt and vinegar chips I like a plain kettle cooked chip or a bunch of regular crispy Lay's chips. I'll have to try it with basil and whipped ricotta. Great video!! Keep up the great work
I was such a picky eater as a little kid. Lucky enough to have a very open palate as an adult ❤ unbelievably good looking sandwich!
Man, I've been craving a tomato sandwich. I hear ya on the ricotta, but I got some N'duja aioli from work sitting in my fridge, and a nice focaccia. All I'm missing is the perfect tomato and some chips. Love the basil/chip topping!!
Gonna try this but with kewpie mayo!
I'm trying this bad boy.
Love your content 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
YUM ! ....... I need that NOW.......unfortunately it's Wintertime here.... SO.... I'm gonna have to wait.......& OBSESS about it..... LOL !
You got my vote by adding the salt and vinegar chips!
Awesome, dude. I missed this one!
omg my mouth is watering!! 😋
update: made this for lunch today and it tastes just as delicious as it looks 😍😋
Love the idea!
What i would do, ive made many sandwich like this.

This looks so good 😢
OMGOSH! I loathe mayo but I LOVE ricotta! GENIUS!
I love a big , ripe tomato from the garden still warm from the sun. Just grab some salt and eat it, while it drips down your hand, maybe wrist too….childhood memories here 😊
Hi Chef. Could you please share what type of olive oil you were using in this video? Thank you.
Dude you’re the bomb🤘🏼🤙🏼❤️
i love that line at 4:50
Oldie but a goodie!
Grown up tomato sando - looks great
I’m gonna have to try basil again. When I was 9 my Dad got a short term teaching gig in Genova. Pesto was everywhere. I’m sure it was good, but basil is a bit much for a 9-year old’s palette. I’m 60 now, so it might be worth a try now.

I'll probably stick with the mayo but everything else on this, spot on. I can dig all of it
Yum
That tomato looks amazing! I'm in the UK. We call it toh-mah-toe
I want that sandwich 🥪
Sub spinach or arugula for the basil. Add avocado and bacon. Delish!
Have you tried it with roasting the garlic first so it is a spreadable paste on the bread?
Omg! Now that’s a tomato sandwich taken up a few notches! Safe travels Steve - stay cool 😎
that was one pretty tomato......mine are coming in now.....still green on the vine but they turning from green to light orange to red......I have been salting my tomatoes on a rack for ten or fifteen minutes both sides and patting them dry before placing on a sandwich..........super thin onions would be good on that too......I salt tomatoes for sandwiches, eggplant for parmesan, and cucumber for tzatziki to get the water out.
You rock!
you can pronounce it however you want it's your channel loving the content🖤
I love a good mater sandwich. And yes, it absolutely has to be Duke's! lolol Edit: Extra sharp cheddar and cucumber (no mayo) is also a summer favorite for me.
Wegmans made me a duke’s convert
@@zathtanks What is this sorcery you speak of? Lol What's in Wegmans?
I never thought to process “Rikkatta” cheese into mayo! Thanks for teaching me that 😂Keep Crackin Man!! 😜😜
Nice.....rye bread will do
I think it’s cool to redo some recipes you’ve already made. But I would realy love to see your take on Ragu Bianco/White Bolognese or these kind of things 😘
A slice of sharp cheddar goes really well too.
