That was 2011 because Mike Joy made a Comment that the driver leading turn 4 lost both the indy 500 and Coke 600
Weird that Eutchnyx was shying away from using drivers who switched rides between the seasons this time around, when in Inside Line, you had a challenge between Jeff Burton and Clint Bowyer for the 2011 Amp Energy 500, but still used the 15 for Clint despite Clint being in the 33 in the race emulated.

You just have to up the dead zone on the steering. About 10-15% and then steering sensitivity should also be fine, but tune that to your liking. The dead zone is the more important part
The reason the coke 600 has “driver” leading is because Kevin Harvick won driving the 29 but moved to shr for 2014
Fun fact: with the ragan highlight theres no pit rules apparently so right at the beginning you could cut inside and take the pit lane as a shortcut

The steering sensitivity is just something weird about Daytona in Inside Line/Nascar 14/15 and if anything gets worse with custom setups
This game is basically Nascar 15 but a year earlier and the cars were slightly faster

You have to barely hold your joystick to the left at plate tracks
On Daytona and Talladega I would just go into the setup and put the trackbar all the way down

Making a paint scheme of your own takes time and thinking and the reason for that is because it comes from your heart, if you want your scheme to be very excellent you need to put your emotions on that car, make it reflect you, every color has a humans personality and trust me search up the definitions of the colors and some will relate to you, that's what people do when making art, you don't need skill to come first, it will come to you when you have an idea of what to express on that car, so what I'm saying is make that car part of you emotions, personality, image etc... And you will make an awesome paint scheme, if you don't know what to do? First start with the base color and then look for decals that interest you that will fit your idea of the paint scheme even if you think your idea is dumb just throw um on yhe car and it will come to you and it will look good, hopefully this helped.
How did you buy nascar 14 on pc? Is it on steam?
I don't know exactly how well this correlates to 2014, but I have 2015 and run;

steering deadzone on 60,
accelerator deadzone on 0,
brake deadzone on 0,
clutch deadzone on 0,
steering sensitivity on 100,
steering linearity on 0,
accelerator sensitivity on 55,
and brake sensitivity on 0.
[Driver Assists]
steering assist off
autobraking assist off
one star of traction assist,
one star of SC assist (depends on how comfortable I am with the track),
one star of abs assist,
and launch control on or off (depends on my comfort level with the track).

Note that I also use custom setups, not just preset game setups.

Daytona: overtake danica into 1 get to 2nd on backstretch and push on bottom for a lap and then overtake on the backstretch
By the way the AI during these challenges are very difficult to not crash with
