Great video. Very informative. Keep it up. Good luck at the track 🦾
Thank you Paul! Been a while since we've been to track but we'll be out soon for some testing!
Just bought a 14 Zx14R for my first drag bike an plan on doing the turbo kit keeping it street legal for a bit till I'm very comfortable. Appreciate all the good details on cutting weight its a must for the track. These bikes are such heavy pigs stock. 😂
Yes they are lol we just weighed it in the other day at full weight and we are at 428lbs with turbo kit.
I definitely enjoyed this video… I love Kawi’s and is interested in getting a ZX-14R one day. Seriously, give every tip you’re willing to give on shaving weight.
Anytime brother 🙏 I'm always willing to help out 🤙
@@provenpowercycles amazing all out build
Since you have no cooling system I would recommend closing the front are by a custom fairing
Or extending the fairings toward the center of the from wheel
Would be much more aerodynamic
🥰🥰👍👍 Love the show Great video You're awesome
Appreciate the compliment ! 🙌
Awesome video if I brought mine could you get it to 450lbs or close for street riding
@@provenpowercycleswould love to know if 450lbs on the street would be possible
I owned zx12.Come on bro,Max out the zx14.I wanted to see how it runs.
Did you use something to fill in the water jackets in the block and cylinder head or are they just left open for adding the cooling system/water pump later if you decide to put the radiator and water pump back on
Wont no coolent crack the block or head?
is it Posible to Obtain 220Hp, Out of a Stock Motor Zx14R, And be Reliable for Street Racing and Cruise on Sundays.😊
After deleting the abs system how did u program the ecu? My check light comes on about every 5 miles and starts pulling power. I have a code reader and o go in and clear it but it gets aggravating. Chris moore put my 14 together and he had no clue. Saw Lee sheirts at the track and he has no idea. Lol coby adams only deals with sprint cars now and I was told gulh stopped also. Any recommendations wud be appreciated
What else was done besides pulling abs system? What year 14r do you have?
Just purchased a dme arm (same length as yours) I want to do rear brake delete but I need to know if its possible to add the speed sensor back on without a brake bracket to have speed reference for street use???
Yes. We usually cut the bracket then sand it all down, then we paint it all, leaving the speed sensor mount in tact.
Thanks i appreciate the info!
Great work mate! How long can you run it before it overheats?
I can get to burnout box do the burnout, stage, run a 1/4 mile then it's shut down. I'm usually in the 200°F range when I'm at the end of the run 👍👍
@@provenpowercycles Gotcha! So exactly what you need for one run then😀 I guess it would be possible to reinstall the cooling system if you wanted to do that?
@NitroTruth it is still possible but a pain in the ass due to the turbo kit design but I could. A part of me is thinking about transitioning it back into a street bike again so I can drive it around town 🤙
@@provenpowercycles Yeah! I love the set up though, and the idea behind it👍 It’s a super light, super fast machine that can run for 3 minutes😂
@NitroTruth I know it's such a double edged sword. I love how light it is and how quick it is buuuuttt I do miss riding it around 😅
Do you know how to delete the ABS junction box near the battery just curious what’s involved in doing it?
Literally just pull the box, all the headlines and redo the lines from your master cylinders to run directly to calipers and bleed the system. You will have an abs light on all the time on the cluster but you can do it that way without any other issues.
Sounds fairly easy. Thanks a lot! I imagine that box has got to add at least another 7pounds to that bike.
What did you do to the engine block itself to run it dry, did you leave all the water jackets open or did you use that engine block filler that everyone use to talk about using?
We opened up the thermostat housing and let it breathe to open atmosphere. Helps get the heat out from the block.
@@provenpowercycles ok, so you just removed the thermostat top cover and the thermostat and left it open like an additional airbox opening for the block
@@provenpowercycles have you ever installed or do you install aftermarket stand-alone ecu's and if so which brands
Do you have a list of everything?
Not necessarily. It is a very long list lol if I go to sell or part it out, I'll list it all out.
What fuel are you running? I'm assuming an ethonol or meth since you don't run a cooling system.
We're actually just running on vp110. Just to keep it safe. When we add more power and go full standalone, we'll switch out the fuel to something a little more potent.
I appreciate the reply. That's a nice bike. Keep us updated on it.
@Mike Timmins I appreciate it man. I just scooped up another project bike and started on it and we're making a build series on it as well. I'll definitely update this one soon enough! 🙌

Why don’t you bring it to K.O.G?!….you not “on the radar” if you’re not going/beating/winning ANYONE at K.O.G. All that weight loss is NOT a “streeet legal” bike anymore so….it would be funny to see a TurboZX14 with 140 lbs off go against a older, smaller engine on nitrous (K5-K8 GSXR 1000)….Im a ZX14 rider, but even with boost, you’re not beating NO ONE at K.O.G….it’s like 95% Suzuki (Busa/GSXR)… haven’t seen you once on any races they hold 24, 23 or 22….maybe next year?! Like where you drag racing that thing?!
To be honest, we've been working thru minor issues with it. Found a few problematic items that I'm taking care of. The bike hasn't done anything time wise to run it at kog just yet. I'm still putting money into it and tweaking the things that need to be fixed. Once it's ready is when it will come out and run 💪
What size swingarm is on your bike?
DME arm. Range is from 68-73.5". That is total wheel base length.
