- An autumnal bicycle trip from Montpellier to Toulouse, following the Canal du Midi. The canal has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and from Carcassonne the cycle track runs right on the banks of the canal on former towpaths. In autumn, the tourist crowds have disappeared and the bike tour gains its own distinct character.

Cycling the EuroVelo 1 I travelled the reverse way this summer: Starting in Cork I went through Wales and Southwest England, than taking la Velodyssée until La Rochelle.
