- Hello everyone and welcome!
We’re flying today on Iberia’s newest route to Doha, Qatar on their Airbus A330-200.
I’m very glad to try something new to the Middle East, specially if it’s from my home country!
We’re starting the day very early at Madrid Airport, as the flight departs around 8am.. But that will allow me to enjoy some breakfast in the Velázquez Lounge.
Iberia, British Airways and Qatar Airways have a join partnership. This new flight assists Qatar Airways with their aircraft shortage while providing Iberia with extra passengers.
The thing is that the flight gets sold on both Iberia as well as Qatar Airways as their own flight with a small “operated by Iberia” notification, so it might be a very big surprise for some not to fly on QR!
So let’s see how this flight compares to their partner as well as other carriers in the region!
Upgrades to Business Class were sold very affordably at around 400 Euro and the cabin was empty, but as I already had the best seat in Economy Class I decided to stay. And glad I did as Business Class ended up full with staff.

Thanks my friend! One of the softest I ever had. That makes me think that my softest ever was on Iberia actually.. An A320 landing in Madrid from Brussels. I never even felt that, I just saw the spoilers rising.

Thanks for the video, Alex. It is safer to conduct flight control checks before taxi to eliminate the possibility of forgetting to check them. Nice landing. The flight crew absolutely buttered it!!!
There is a similar arrangement with Finnair as well, where Finnair flies from CPH, ARN and HEL to DOH for Qatar, I believe Qatar sells most of the seats on those planes and Finnair only some, as I’d assume most of the traffic is connecting passengers. As I understand it Finnair can’t touch the seats which are for Qatar to sell, and vice versa. Lovely video, Iberia seems like a perfectly fine choice, altough not on the level of Qatar, but then most of the time the price also reflects that, so I’d be perfectly happy to fly with them
yes, that’s another one I need to fly! I have a good friend in Helsinki so I hope to visit him soon on one of those Finnair flights from Doha.
The price is the same as on QR by the way! Well, if you buy it from the QR website. From IB it is more expensive from what I’ve noticed.

I used to spend a lot of time on holiday in the south of France, near Catalonia. Beautiful surroundings and very tasty food and I loved it 😋
Great video really loved it. Madrid airport looks great and want to visit there as I’ve been to most of the other cities and regions of Spain.
Like the new livery but also liked the old livery. Good food, wine, planes this report had it all look forward to the next ones!

wonderful flight review,I always enjoy the infos of each plane's οperations by the pilots.
The pilot on this flight gave many chats that were very long informing about everything, but the volume was very low so I couldn’t place it in the video 😔

Compelling once again loved it, first of all that lounge looks super nice love the red hints throughout. Indeed breakfast with apron views it’s a dream😍. Nice choice on the seat in Economy, oh I like a long take off roll! You can’t beat old skool aircrafts A330s etc for their noise and glorious wingspan. Haha one way to learn my Spanish watch a film in Spanish. I would be intrigued to see what I would get as a vegan meal 🤔. It’s always 5pm somewhere in the world 🍷😂. Superb 👏👏

Now i got something for you if you go to Asia, so book a flight with Bangkok airways from Bangkok Thailand to Koh Samui Thailand on the a319 in Asia's most boutique airline for as cheap as other low cost airlines, this will offer you free service to the rest area at both airports and buffet room for free as well, you get 2 free meals on board and also a free seat selection, and when you arrive at Koh Samui airport you will be blown away as it is called the outdoor airport as there is nothing inside, so i hope you do this trip report as i really recommend it

Thanks for the video. I was at the Lounge in Madrid end of March and didn't have enough time and hunger to eat the food there, I only tried the great meatballs. I have a video on my channel about the flight and food as well. I hope to go back to that lounge as I think it was great! Keep up the good videos :)

No wayyy, when was this recorded, I was in Doha on Monday night, traveling to Abu Dhabi. I saw an Iberia a330 at a remote stand!!!
The “beep beep” is the Crew Rest compartment located next to the lavatory close to your seat that is being depressurized for take off. The alarm indicates the crew sleeping inside (not during take off/landing, as no one should be there) that the oxygen is about to end. It’s a normal procedure for us ❤.

Iberia Is very punctual, leaves one full after meals, great wines, adequate movie selection and their lounges are amazing. Would choose them over Qatar and its shortcomings, so I'll be watching out to ensure flight's actually operated by IB.

One of my favorite airlines is Iberia. But I don't have the answer to the question of why a normal person would go to Qatar.😏

The Iberia A330-200s have the enhanced wing and some small aerodynamic improvements with the 242t MTOW being the highest of the classic A330 before the A330neo with 251t MTOW. I don’t really expect anything from Iberia but their bus class is OK. I bet no Spanish ham was served, which is a pity. I would say the Iberia crews have far more social rights than those of QR. Especially when at this moment a Spanish gay employee of Qatar Airways is currently in prison.😢

Iberia does suck. Literally. How they even think about ‘competing’ with Qatar on this route, is a total mistery. Pretty sure this route wont last long for them.
