No matter how many tournaments or event Novak wins, he'll never be as popular as Fedal, but in terms of records, yes he's a record holder and a record breaker- but he's not the classiest of them, people would still pay more money, to see and exhibition of Federer vs Murray, than spend money at the U.S. Open to see Novak in semi's or finals.

Whether you forgot on purpose or not, those who pay for the tickets live in the West, where the tournaments are held, and Novak is adored in the East, South America and the Balkans, which is much more than west EU.
