- Plantain grows right under our feet along country roads, abandoned parking lots, and hiking trails.
Plantain is often used topically to stop the bleeding for minor cuts and scrapes.
Plantain is also used to support the body during cold, sore throat, bronchitis, and, rhinitis (runny nose).
Besides tea, plantain can be used in the form of a tincture.

Happy to share!
Thanks for the reminder of this awesome herb! As I am a prone to injuries klutz, having Plantain growing in my yard in great abundance is a nice benefit! 👍😀
Bahahaha, i hear yah! Same here! I wish I had fresh plantain in the winter!
Thank you Luli! Lovely to see you again and I best get some harvested! My area is nothing but mullein and plantain!
God is telling you to prepare for treating cold and cough!
I grew up using it on my scraped knees when I was a kid. All my friends did that. It was a legend that passed down from generations before us. We never actually believed that it did something, but used it anyway. And only when I became an adult and got access to internet I googled подорожник and found out that it's actually even better than we were told! I'm from Moldova and I think it's properties are known more to the Eastern European and Asia regions than other places.
I never thought to make a tincture out of it, but now I'm going to!
Спасибо, что делитесь нашими русскими знаниями с нашими западными друзьями!
Спасибо! Подорожник always grows along human paths to serve injured travelers.
I will defiantly be giving this a try! Thank you
When I was a child, my sisters and I would play house outdoors in our playhouse. We would pick Plantain and pretend it was bread. Not eating it……..I never knew it was edible and I guess my mom didn’t know either as we had a lot of it in our yard but never ate any. We did however eat tons of dandelions when they came out in the spring. I now want to forage all kinds of edibles. Very interesting to me.
Very nice story, thank you for sharing.
I have Heard- snakebite spider bites etc from an online vet who is holistic vet and has seen its uses firsthand so plantain fresh and available as a poltice… spit not hurting a thing and since it is not a plant that stores too awfully long as a dried herb..,if you can get it fresh as with anything or store it for longevity as a tincture…many thanks for keeping the old and true ways alive lulu…stay blessed
Interesting information. Thank you for sharing
Please share your favorite herbal books…wanting to add to my library 😁
Praying for you and your daughters recovery 💕….one of my sons is a burn survivor. There’s a young man with a gifted musical anointing, Jonathan McReynolds, he has a couple of worship songs that I especially love. I found him on Facebook.
I so enjoy your videos. I have learned so much. Started a batch of pickles last night!
Yay!!!
You are so encouraging . Thank you. I put this on a bee sting and layered the leaves in my socks and I was able to walk normal because usually my whole foot swells. I can't believe how well it worked. I was also high up in the mountains of Portugal and the herb must have been super potent. My son gets bad coughs I need to make this tincture!
Thank you for sharing!
I pray you are still on the mend and you are feeling stronger every day. The world is very scary starting with covid and getting worse by the day. I have been trying to learn more basic skills on CZcams. I don’t know how bad things will get. I wanted to thank you for teaching me so many new things to try. I pray you have a speedy recovery. God bless

I just found and subbed to your channel. I love your herbal presentations. If you haven't yet, I would love to see a video on what herbal books you do use. I realize you used a lot of them growing up, which I think is really cool. I have used some very common ones with my son however I would love to start using more with us both. Thanks for your videos.
Its been a busy season on outer homestead. I plan on making a video about my favorite herbal books soon

Hello! My interest in useful and medicinal herbs is just beginning to blossom. Do you have favorite resource book recommendations for a beginner? Thank you.
There are a few books that I like. I keep thinking about doing a video about my favorite herbal books

Awesome!!! That's method works on mosquito bites as well.
Thank you for this. What is your go to reference book? Thanks
I use several herbal books, plus I look at research articles. I am certified in Functional Nutrition and Medicine. I have been studying my herbs for sometime. I love to reach research about herbs, unfortunately, there is not much out there, maybe because it not very profitable.
I plan on doing a separate video just about my books and other resources.
Question: how would you use it for allergies, or bronchitis? Do you rub it on or drink it? If you drink it, how many drops are used? Thank you.
I would drink it as tea. If using tincture drops, I start with one dropper full (which is 1ml) and increase it upto two dropper full (2ml)
Would you please let me know what book you have for the herbs? I would like to order one thank you.
Hello, what recipe book do you use?
I quickly want to share. Just heard on Stephen Gardner here on CZcams. Stock up on feminine products!!! Everything you can get!! 💐🙏🇺🇲
Thanks for sharing. I grew up using reusable pads, because in the former USSR feminine products did not exist. There are homesteading ladies that make them and cell
Thank that's great to know. We should make a video about it. It's so scary what's going on in out country. Boy-O-Boy. Best wishes 💐
Can I please ask what is the best way to give it to my 2 year old that has a nasty cough ? Tea or ? Thanks
I would suggest cough syrups
How do you make the plantain tea?
I like to steep dry leaves for 15-20 min in a freshly boiled water
What book are you referencing ?
I use several herbal books. Some a little older from the 80s and 90s. But most are newer. I am hoping to do a short video just about my books
@@lulishomestead6767 Thank you for the video. It awesome! It would be nice to learn about those books
