No way can they fit, it’s completely different engineering. It would take a lot of intense customizing. Toybiz had those ugly cylindrical hinges on the back and that’s my big eye sore. lol

Mayne with the engineering for the wings they couldnt do butterfly because it would make things too thin between cavities adn something would break? Or maybe its would require too much tooling? Wonder if you cast these wings and make multiples?

So. They can resculpt the torso to add wings or to key in Cyclops's belt straps, but they can't fill in the seams on the forearms. I see. Totally makes sense.
The annoying thing about the sculpt in the forearms is they sculpted it that way! I get the idea behind making the forearm into two parts, so you can easily swap the lower forearm based on the shape of the gloves they need, so that way they aren't reculpting the entire forearm each time. Only half of it. But this "gloveless sculpt" is all one piece anyway. So they could have easily sculpted the forearm without that unnecessary seam. Anyway, I'm so excited for this. Angel is one of my favorite xmen, and while I prefer the blue suit, I won't risk it. I want this now. If they turn out to make the blue suit down the road, I'll get that too and then I'll have extra wings I can use for a custom or whatever
Even more annoying is they already have Vulcan arms with no forearm seams in the Astonishing Cyclops but they don’t use it where it makes the most sense 🤦🏻♂️
It’s honestly surprising they haven’t made a smooth Vulcan arm. There’s been more figures that would’ve needed it smooth then ones that needed it sculpted
Im watching this again April 2024 & i just got Angel which i had pre-ordered awhile back..& looking at it in hand, IMO the smiling head sculpt makes Angel look LOBOTOMIZED! 😂😂 Other than that..i agree 💯 .. this is an AMAZING Marvel Legend..& now that i have it i can put Archangel in my X Men villains display for good!👑
@@Xmanny87I'm not saying it can't be done but the way Hasbro engineered this figure it wasn't going to work.If Hasbro did their Butterfly joints like Mcfarlane does or did something similar to Archangels wings that peg in the middle of the back, maybe, but they went another way and that way would have been problematic to have them both.
Got my Angel from Amazon yesterday, the left wing's connector hinge would not move or bend. I tried to heat it up, but it looks like the paint and plastic was already fused together in that section when I got it. Ordered a replacement from Amazon. Just sharing to fellow collectors to beware about this defect.
Looks amazing. Am I the only one who saw Angel as the Aquaman of the X-Men? I mean he can only be useful in wide open battles. He has no real offensive abilities, until he became Archangel. His bones are hollow, it’s not like he’s super durable or enhanced outside of speed.
It always happens with Marvel Legends, they always fail on some crucial detail. The same with Power Princess, they could have given her a Black Window like articulation but failed to do so, and now with Angel. But at least the Wings are awesome!..

That smiling head looks creepy. The cheeks look like he had plastic surgery. Which makes the teeth look like veneers and has hasbro ever had a male figures mouth crease in the corners like that before? Maybe with the mask painted on properly it wouldnt look so "candy van".

I’m no toy engineer but it’s doable. Look at all those Mcfarlane figures that have wings in that area with butterfly joints.

The wings and default head sculpt are 🔥 but Hasbro still using the waist swivel articulation kinda sucks for posing purposes.
These waist swivels don’t bother me. But on some figures depending on the aesthetics, I’d like to see the ball jointed waists.

I rellay like him, but my white isn't super clean and there are tiny red spots here and there on the limbs. Could have used another coat of paint.

I’m not a huge X-Man fan but this is just a cool action figure I can’t wait to get an mess around with.
Doesn’t matter if you are a big fan or not, if it’s an awesome figure, no harm in enjoying it.
I'm just guessing here but I don't think you can have both butterfly joints and peg in wings on his back w/o them getting in each others way.
It’s been done before. Look at Mcfarlane Toys and all the figures he’s made with wings. Butterfly joints with wings on the back.
