I picked this Datsun 620 up from a hoarder who had it buried in his garage. Looks like he had been puttering with it but I have no idea any other history, other than it hasn't run in over 10 YEARS! In this video I see if I can break that streak and get the ole girl fired up again!!

Looks like you got a lot of old JDM rust to deal with. My advice, keep in mind it’s a lot of flat surfaces and the floor plans love to pull and become poppy and noisy.

Thanks dude, 300 is a huge milestone and I glad you were here for it! And yeah, if you can look past the mismatch paint it's actually a very solid candidate for a project! Now I just need to decide which direction to go with it
@LooseFab do you have an Instagram? I think a drag or a drift truck would be cool. I think I am going to try and make mine like a 13 second truck that I can use for drag and drives.
@@jeepingneatus I don't have one yet, but I probably should make one! I was never opposed to it I just wasn't sure if it would help. I'd love to see some pictures of yours, when I make an insta you'll have to send some my way! That sounds like a super solid, fun build plan to me!

Any Datsun around here are nothing but rust, I'd find a like year Z and swap it. I love these little trucks!

I have only one request, please please keep it as clean and OEM as you can. I think it was some spare door panels that were laying in the passenger side, those are probably worth a bit to the right person. A lot of those interior pieces are very hard to come by.
I do plan on watching what you do with this little one, I love that generation of trucks. Keep up the good work!

@@LooseFab you're welcome! It ultimately is up to you, but I would for sure turn it into a sleeper, I don't remember what the term is for it, but I believe it's called a "restomod" if you find another one that is in a bit rougher shape, I would turn that one into a dirt/drift truck :)

I had a kingcab 620 miss it 😢 I also put miata seats in it and I used the miata rails just drilled new holes
i bet those seats looked right at home in one of these trucks!

I love and prefer the 521 series Datsun/Nissan trucks however also like the 620 series Datsun/Nissan trucks to. This one looks in semi decent shape here. With a little working over and a little welding to do, and sanding her down, priming it and repaintjing her, she should be a nice little truck to have and run. However PLEASE DON'T lower it to the ground, and PLEASE DON'T put thise ugly wagon wheels and thin tires on it either. You'll ruin the looks of this truck completely.

That is actually a pretty good idea, I hadn't considered that! Pretty affordable drivetrain too
WHERE DO I FIND ONE? It bolts onto the bell housing and is comparable with the stock clutch and everything? I wouldn’t have to worry about any power steering, only coolant hoses, and a radiator and electric fan, engine mounts, the Goped Jesus only knows what else too lol.
