I was in HS when this episode aired. I don’t recall VHS tapes still being a thing. DVDs had been out for a few years I believe. Though my first job was a video store and only the old movies were on VHS.
For those who don't know, "Abbatoir", the name of the French restaurant, means "slaughterhouse". It's kind of a gross "joke", isn't it? BTW: In French, Final R's ARE pronounced when preceded by the letter " i ". So, it's not pronounced "abatwa".
