IS HE THE SECRET WEAPON BOSTON NEEDS?
Well, I've been complaining about consistency in the lines and defenses all season. Monty has to pick 18 players to play every night unless someone (of the 18) can't. The "plan" of ... this guy plays one night, and this guy plays another has been leading to sloppy play all season. Players (at times) just don't seem to know where anyone else is. This is apparent when trying to get the puck out of their own end which is a situation that's been disastrous all season. They also need to find some SPEED on transition. No line and defense combo seems to be able to put together a fast transition that can out skate the opposing back-checkers. So, the B's now play a dump and pursue or a dump and change lines game and often get caught in line changes when the opposition is breaking out. However, when the B's get possession of the puck after dumping it in, they are very good at setting up scoring opportunities. As for the defense ... geez ... if you're going to block a shot, go out away from the net and block the damn shot. Don't try to block it right in front of the goalie. Two goals were scored in that last loss from deflections off a defenseman. The defensemen also have to get more physical in getting opponents away from the goal mouth and the forwards more aggressive in getting the puck away from opponents behind the net. The B's are a very good team. But they have a lot to fix, and consistency is the FIRST thing that must be fixed. Right now, I don't see them as a deep-in-the-playoffs team. As for DeBrusk, I like him a lot. He's also a strong skater, good fore-checker and good back-checker. He just needs to be paired with the right players and since he has lately, I've noticed the improvement.
I feel like this is the case with Debrusk every year. He starts slow. But his game seems to pick up after the holidays sometimes the trade deadline
Yes
Can anyone imagine Debrusk with Bergeron leadership and Marchand tenacity??? So sad to let all that talent go to waste
Hmmmm....consistent lines? who would have thought?
What
Kids a head case .. Trade Him for a more consistent player .. A weaker more consistent player is worth more than a guy who gets hot 2 weeks out of a season ... it's like an alcoholic relationship let the 10 minutes of nice ruin the rest of your day
You really should stop drinking at the keyboard.
