I love this song, and if y’all don’t know... these guys were notorious for their ability to PARTY with the best of them!! One of the most underrated artists of the 70’s. My favorite J. GEILS tune.🤙🏻🤘🏼✌🏻
Didn't care for their commercially successful music, but when they were still hungry they lit it up! Bloodshot was my favorite album, it came in blood red vinyl. They should have been in the hall of fame long ago!
Back in the day this band was everywhere. I saw them so many times. Made us all get off our asses and dance. Walking thru the Holiday Inn Charles River they were so proud of them. I love J. Geils until I die. They are the best rock and roll band to get it all started. House Party nothing but a house party!
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Could you imagine going out to see these guys in some downtown Boston bar before they really broke it big? This was a great album, esp played at max volume.
There will never be another band like this. So many grooves. I first heard geils in 78 and have so many memories of times in my life where their music has shown me to get out myself and enjoy . I wish I would have seen them In 73.
Brian, you got that right. They put bands in who don't deserve and ignore the amazing music by other bands. Def Leppard is finally getting in this year. J Geils should have been in decades ago!!!!!
The "old Geils", before they folded and went commercial in the 80's, was the music with a new sound and groove that no other live band could match in their day...
Brian Rutherford Yeah, they blew my head off in 1970 when they made Virginia Beach almost a second home, playing some crazy bills at the Dome on Pacific Ave.I was there when they shot the second lp cover at a Holiday Inn on the boardwalk at the Beach.Rest in Peace, John Geils.
their "commercial" proved they were awesome ..before that they were just local really ..then everybody got it..but this early stuff was way underatted...i remember jammin to this stuff all through the years..why radio doesnt play it..dunno...butcritics are still unkind to these guys
Blood Shot one of their best albums at a time when I was a pup hanging with my brother whom I love so freakin much,he is no longer physically here but spiritually by my side we had such member times 70s....peace to all.
This album is a mainstay on the turntable when I'm shootin' pool. Great LP to crank up on a Saturday night with the neighbors over for a pool/ping-pong tournament...
The best ever. Great fantastic memories! 1973, yes 🙌. When I showed my Dad this album on my record player in 1973 he was astounded. He thought it was next cuz it was red. I played give it to me, not realizing what he was saying. Oh happy days.
They should have been in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame years ago and why they still aren't shows why that organization is a fraud. They along with Aerosmith helped make Boston a rock and roll hotbed.
Brian Washington AMEN AMEN AMEN!! Especially considering the great compositions and riffs of Wolf-Justman, the musicianship of everyone, and the fact that NO OTHER BAND has ever sounded like this and none ever will. Memo to R&R Hall of Fame -- are y'all nuts?
+shangpush nah...jann wenner is a tight-assed gatekeeper, thas all. you don't tow the line, whatever that may or may not be to him, you don't get in. hint: speak out against the Zionist NWO agenda and you got a snowball's chance. jus'sayin
Jann Wenner of "Rolling Stone" magazine is a big influence on the RRHOF. His magazine for years pushed "Patti Smith" and she gets into the RRHOF. She had one hit record and it was written by Bruce Springsteen. She doesn't belong in the HALL and bands like Deep Purple, Chicago, etc...never get on the ballot.
Rockin band they were wild live in 81 when i saw them on the Love Stinks tour, they just kicked ass the whole show, no other bnd like them in the world, that play rick and boogie blues the way they did.
@chazhernandez6933... The J Geils band did a nice cover of "Ain't Nothin' But A Houseparty" I still preferer the original by "The Showstoppers - Ain't Nothin' But A Houseparty" 1967 czcams.com/video/IfKpBy5cobI/video.html
What a classic album I didn't start listening to J geils until my junior high years when freeze frame was quite popular this album though I could take a lead took a liking to and I ended up with a red vinyl copy of this I doubt it's worth any money but it is a conversation piece
absolute jungle music ,and that is most definitely a compliment .people like my dad and other anti- rock fans called it that. when I heard this tune, I actually said ,this IS jungle music and I love it!
Without a doubt, one of THE BEST party albums in history. We used to put this damn album on and dance and sign like 4 year olds!! Still that way today. Don't believe me, buy it and play it at your next house party!!!!!!
love this album yer older chick had great taste. my virgin flight with geils was full house. get baked and check it out. then do Blow your face out dbl live. its the yrs we were goin to aragon ballroom in Chicago every fall winter they would come. Great Dancin Days
The perfect song for a house party fight.

@@looseends9634 I DO watch Grown Ups 2
These guys remind me of summertime, outdoor concerts and partying my ass off! I become bulletproof again when I hear this tune. Good times!
I love this song, and if y’all don’t know... these guys were notorious for their ability to PARTY with the best of them!! One of the most underrated artists of the 70’s. My favorite J. GEILS tune.🤙🏻🤘🏼✌🏻

Heard this song for the 1st time today. Good music, ahead of its time. I can relate Midwest house parties in the winter

How many times did you see them before paying a penny. Like a hundred times. When they could be outdoors they played everywhere for a summer or two.
Memory is coming back: I remember when 'Dick' showed up a couple times and played on a couple tunes. He never stopped showing up after that.
How could anyone give this a thumbs down? This is fabulous
J. Geils Band is one of the best, most underrated groups EVER! Ain't nothing but a fuckin' house party!
What makes you believe they're underrated?
Never underrated to people who get music for its depth🎶🎶🎶
MOTOWN ppl know otherwise...we know great rock..
( maybe a little bias..)....
Underrated is the most overrated word on you tube...You need to learn what that word means....smfh
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Could you imagine going out to see these guys in some downtown Boston bar before they really broke it big? This was a great album, esp played at max volume.

Brian, you got that right. They put bands in who don't deserve and ignore the amazing music by other bands. Def Leppard is finally getting in this year. J Geils should have been in decades ago!!!!!

One of the greatest openings to a song ever.

Been a fan since 1974. Saw them 6 times in the hazy days! Was always the best party then now my go to pick me up band! Rock on JGB!!
The "old Geils", before they folded and went commercial in the 80's, was the music with a new sound and groove that no other live band could match in their day...
before the music video boom.

You can't blame them . They had to make money. The Stones went exactly the same way.
The Most Fun Band Ever! ❤️
Loved it! We used to sit the speakers on the roof of my car, slide the tape in the old 8-track and party out.
Click click ! Lol
Blood Shot one of their best albums at a time when I was a pup hanging with my brother whom I love so freakin much,he is no longer physically here but spiritually by my side we had such member times 70s....peace to all.

Has any band ever been this tight live in history?
One might laugh, but huey Lewis and the news in there prime was amazing live.
The best ever. Great fantastic memories! 1973, yes 🙌. When I showed my Dad this album on my record player in 1973 he was astounded. He thought it was next cuz it was red. I played give it to me, not realizing what he was saying. Oh happy days.

I've always been coming here for j geils
Really helps to hang around New England to appreciate just how great a band--Peter Wolf retained his fan base for a very long time. Boston knows rock.
Loving this band guided me the way here
The peak of their power was right here!
What a classic album I didn't start listening to J geils until my junior high years when freeze frame was quite popular this album though I could take a lead took a liking to and I ended up with a red vinyl copy of this I doubt it's worth any money but it is a conversation piece
