Songbird: The Black Swan Story

Songbird explores the life and career of Robert Thomas, formerly known as Shadow and now known as Black Swan, an improvisational rapper who traverses the streets of Boston promoting and selling his music. Complete with his own handshake; Black Swan is hilarious, eccentric, and incredibly kind. He's sold over 150,000 copies of his first album and has become a local celebrity. His omnipresence in downtown Boston allows his mythos to spread rapidly. His message is incredibly positive and he hopes to inspire younger generations with his music. Often themes of his music lament gang violence and denounce disrespect toward women, an antithesis to the genre. Black Swan’s positivity serves as a beacon of hope during these often tumultuous times.
