Dear Mr. Dave, I came across your excellent video and stayed there, despite the fact that I am a Spanish speaker, thanks to the CZcams subtitles I watched it until the end, thank you very much, you just saved me, I was about to buy one of these disconnect boxes these days, I had one that a friend lent me and I did some tests on it but I had doubts because I have not been able to do real tests in a vehicle, so with your video I clarified and confirmed the doubts I found, it is not a real disconnect box, you saved me, thank you very much for sharing. Greetings from Bogotá -Colombia.
Thx Dave. Always a good sign when yer viewers are after ye for more details. 😁 Yer new rig is gonna serve ye well for many years to come I am sure. Money well spent...Cheers Pal. Thx again
can you shut the buzzer off on the power probe ? or you got to hear it until you charge
Good man Dave going the extra mile.
On mine that PCB board had only the female spade part soldered to it & levers up leaving all the banana plugs with male connectors in the front cover. Unplug the 2 white plugs. Flip board over unsolder the 1K resistors replace with 10k Surface mount resistors 60p for 100 those through hole ones make it hard work. 4 solder points 8 if you want to do the GM ones while your in there. Takes about 30 mins start to finish & it worked @ least it did for mine. If buying new buy a PP or Pico one but if you've already got one it's 30 mins well spent & you'll get some surface mount PCB board level soldering practice.
Normal multi meter probes fit right into the holes on my similar BluePoint one without any adapters 👍
Yeah Russell.they do indeed. I dont use them much as the sheilded leads are to hand, cheers dave
hi mark amundesen made a tutorial to modify the case, if yes you have a link, best regards

thank for video

would you not need to lower the resistance to make the led light at a lower voltage?
Aye steve you would think so. The resistor is on the feed going to a circuit with 2 transistors and 2 other resistors to light the led. I should have elaborated on that. Cheers dave
The increased resistance lowers the base current altering the bias into the PNP type Transistor they've used to power the Led's.
Dude what the heck are you saying??? I can’t understand a word your saying
